25.01.2022 <> No matter how nice the interior of our home, it is still good to have change of scene every now and then. This snazzy alfresco area we completed with Beechwood Homes would most certainly entice me outside - especially with an afternoon gin in hand!

25.01.2022 One of the things people often find surprising is that as interior designers, we undertake exterior selections with almost all of our clients! Engaging a designer is like opening Pandora's box ... in a good way!! This example is from one of our projects with Beechwood Homes

25.01.2022 Monday's revamp update. First image is from 6.30am as the last of the 3 sections of joinery were delivered. A huge thanks to the Fine Concepts team for not onl...y installing but also doing the fabrication for this section. A last minute addition to their workload which is greatly appreciated. Second image is a sneak peek at some of the joinery going into the senior classroom. A big thanks again to HVG, SteedForm - Stone & Laminate Benchtops, Routleys, Cerbis Ceramics SA, CAV Kitchens, TK Design KITCHENS | BATHROOMS | INTERIORS and Broadfeather Design for the joinery and splashback in this room. We love bold colours!! Have you noticed? See more

24.01.2022 II TRACEY II I'm happy to share some images of a home that has been recently completed by Claridge Construction. Check out the organic edge on the island benchtop! A crisp white, grey and black palette along with traditional red brick and timber floors certainly make for a character-filled home. Enjoy!

23.01.2022 << JOANNE >> It's ok to perve on a client's pantry if you go home to your own pantry, isn't it???

23.01.2022 JOANNECalming colours used in a beachside home. A peaceful retreat in a stressful time.

23.01.2022 II TRACEY II One of the favourite parts of our job is working with, and getting close to our clients. This was one of those jobs and Im so pleased to see that their home has come to completion and theyre ready to move in. Neolith was installed to the kitchen, family room joinery and also the cladding both inside and outside to the fireplace. Love it! All the best in your new home. 23.01.2022 II TRACEY II Today we share some images of the new kitchen installed to Hospital School SA at the Womens and Childrens Hospital. The kitchen is where it all began for Broadfeather Design in this project. I responded to a request for help to explore whether it was possible to install a new kitchen to the school. My guess would be that the existing kitchen looked like it would have been 60s/70s with the pale lemon laminate benchtops and doors. The kitchen had been used by th...e staff in past times for cooking lessons with the kids but this came to a halt when the kitchen became quite tired and unhygienic for purpose. I wonder if the staff and school principal had a concept of how far the kitchen request could go? Not one, but two kitchens in one have been installed to the school. A full sized adult kitchen has been installed, with the addition of a smaller height section that allows children to work at a lower bench height. The lower section of benchtop purposely has been left open to accommodate children who are in wheelchairs. A slight improvement on what was there before? We cant wait to see the cooking lessons reinstituted by the teachers. 21.01.2022 When your windows are picture frames for nature's beauty in the Adelaide Hills, there isn't much to complain about!

21.01.2022 Some people enjoy the process of clothes washing but for others, it's a real chore. With colours this calming, would you be more relaxed about tackling the washing? Thanks Claridge Construction for another great project.

20.01.2022 <> This image was captured whilst moving things around mid-styling. It was not the final resting spot for the plants but I love this little process shot all the same.

20.01.2022 II TRACEY II Today we share the final round of images for the Hospital School SA with you. As time passed on the revamp project a few small elements were added into the scope. The hallway leading to the school, and also the toilets (including the floors!?!) were added quite late in the game. The hallway was originally painted by an artist 20 years ago and it has served the school well. Move into the year 2020 and it was decided that the hallway should be updated to reflect... the selections made within the school. The toilets were a bit of a fun, something to give the staff, parents and kids something to talk about. Work is currently underway to explore a possible expansion of the school into an outdoor space. And the catch phrase is.WATCH THIS SPACE. Thanks for following along with the project. Suppliers and trades involved in this component are Floors-2-Go SA Fine Concepts Dulux Australia D.E. Seal & Sons and Leopard Lens Photography. A special mention to the school principal, Matthew McCurry for his contribution as in-house artist for the hallway mural installation, along with the innovative ceiling installation in the toilets.

20.01.2022 II TRACEY II Today we share a selection of images taken of the office/admin areas and also the library within Hospital School SA revamp project. For the most part, these areas have been refreshed with the creative use of colourful carpet and paint options. Acoustic panelling has been introduced to both the online education and principals office to increase the level of privacy available when needed. It also provides the staff with the opportunity to use these spaces for the ...children to get away when they need a bit of quiet space. I may have had a request to think outside of the square with regard to the principals ceiling. For those that know me, that is a very brave request. And my logical response, lets do a mix of charcoal paint and artificial grass on the ceiling panels!! 20.01.2022 II TRACEY II Today heralds an exciting day for the Broadfeather Design team with the combined 90th celebration and official opening of the revamped Hospital School SA on the premises at the Womens and Childrens Hospital. This project has definitely been a labour of love and MANY people have contributed to the project to bring it to fruition. Im pleased to finally be able to share a series of before and after photos of the school as we work through the various rooms. Today...s post focuses on the internal hallway which welcomes families into the school. I knew when I first visited the school that this area would be key to setting the tone and atmosphere for the whole environment. Suppliers and trades involved in this component of the project include Floors-2-Go SA, Fine Concepts, Broadfeather Design, Polyflor Australia, Dulux Australia, Armstrong Flooring and Leopard Lens Photography

20.01.2022 A library with a custom board gaming table is perfect for spending cold Adelaide Hills nights with friends and a glass of wine - as Joanne can attest to. Hills change for the win!

19.01.2022 * NAOMI * A happy Friday consists of fabric arrivals! I may have gotten a little distracted from my floorplans, but how could one resist these gorgeous greens?

19.01.2022 Would you want to come home to this stunning entrance each day? I'm sure the clients won't mind if we all move in!

18.01.2022 II TRACEY II And the Broadfeather girls are off and running for 2020. Michelle giving us a refresher of how to colour coordinate...

18.01.2022 II TRACEY II Some may think that a designers job is all about the fun stuff. Working with colour, materials and creativity. And yes, a large part of our work is about that. The other part though is the very detailed documentation to ensure that things are installed as we planned, and also plenty of hands-on work. Case in point, heres a quick snap of Joanne this morning doing her thing and fixing our shelving at work. But note, the designer jacket is still in place of course!!

18.01.2022 Almost ready for our annual Tour Down Under event with Cerbis Ceramics SA, Haymes Paint, PGH Bricks & Pavers, Rawsons Appliances, Silestone by Cosentino and ZIP Industries!!!

17.01.2022 <> I was supposed to be heading to Italy in a couple of weeks for this year's big design fair. Travel plans may have changed, but my love for this splashback detail I saw in Milan two years ago have not changed. I'm still dying to use this on a project!

17.01.2022 Books, board games, black, beguiling. Using alliteration to describe a home library seems like the correct choice.

16.01.2022 II TRACEY II What an amazing fundraising night held on Saturday night for the Hospital School SA project. The final $$s are still being checked but we are pleased to report that the supply and labour generously donated to the revamp project came out at approximately $340,000. Added to that is the additional $40,000 raised over the weekend. A fabulous effort by all. Today we share some images from the senior classroom. This area caters for ages between 11 and 18, and in my ey...es was the most tired within the school. I suspect the brief of the room was a perfect fit for me with the experience of 3 teenagers currently at home. Plus ask anyone, I love colour! The design concept was very clear for me from the outset. Bold but comforting, contrasting colour with a touch of grunge on the side. Do you think we achieved that? 16.01.2022 When do we rest? Not often at this stage.. Current view unloading joinery section 2 thanks to Damien and the crew at Fine Concepts along with Broadfeather Design

14.01.2022 It is the dawn of a new era for the Broadfeather team as we work from home. With a few little tweaks, we can easily do our jobs from home! If you've recently transitioned to working from home, we'd love to see your set up. It's great to see the creativity bred out of necessity! ** For Joanne there is the added bonus of this view

14.01.2022 <> With the need to prepare for all eventualities at at the moment, it has made me reflect back to this client project. Working from home in a room with a view anyone???

11.01.2022 Thursday revamp post It's all happening here today. I'm sure there will be plenty of pics to share later in the day, but a quick sneak peek in the meantime. 09.01.2022 II TRACEY II We have had our decorative hats on these past couple of weeks with the installation of multiple furniture packages to the beautiful new Kelso Apartments based in Woodforde. Starfish Developments have successfully established the Hamilton Hill community, which includes the Kelso Apartments nestled in the foothills in the eastern suburbs of Adelaide. Our role included selection of furniture and accessories, management of the ordering and delivery process along with the physical installation. Sharing some imagery for two different schemes that were installed.

09.01.2022 One of our recent projects scored a commendation at the HIA SA awards for Renovation/Addition Project over $1 million!! Teamwork makes the dream work! Tracey did an amazing job in executing a design that truly reflected the clients. Congratulations Claridge Construction!

09.01.2022 Another moment from the recent shoot at Joanne's hills change home. Neutral tones with pops of colour in the @thirteen_05_gallery artworks that were an exciting find on a Daylesford trip last year. Plenty of interest without taking away from the views of the countryside (stay tuned for pics over the coming days)

08.01.2022 There is no I in team but there is a Tracey! We are excited to share that she is featured on today's Meet a Professional segment by LED Outdoor + Architectural. Team work makes the dream work!

06.01.2022 <> With current world events, I have been a little nostalgic tonight. Do you think this photo of me, circa 1983, in my Mum's red heels was an insight into my future as a designer?

05.01.2022 JOANNESelf isolation is the perfect opportunity to play around with the styling of your home. Sometimes the simple things in life, like a little bit of greenery on a bookshelf can bring a smile to your day.

05.01.2022 II TRACEY II Colourful stair risers for a colourful Claridge Construction client! Hot tip for those that are struggling to commit to colour or pattern ... transition spaces such as staircases and hallways can be the perfect place to splash a bit of personality around.

05.01.2022 For many people, the ideal bedroom is warm, inviting and cosy. We think this bedroom ticks all those boxes. There is even somewhere to hang your robe by the bed! Another stellar job by our Tracey and Claridge Construction

04.01.2022 <> A cute little spot in one of the @Beechwood Homes display bedrooms. A bit of pretty never goes astray.

03.01.2022 II TRACEY II We have the privilege of showcasing our work in this month's SA Life! We'd love you to support local and grab a copy with a coffee this weekend. A huge acknowledgement to the Hospital School SA for embracing us so thoroughly. We couldn't have done it without other project leaders in Fine Concepts and Floors-2-Go SA and of course all the trades and suppliers that came on board to support the cause. We couldnt have done it without every single one of you!! Also sending positive thoughts to Matthew and all the staff who have worked through some particularly challenging times with COVID-19 in recent times.

03.01.2022 As Ted the dog would attest, spaces like these are made for enjoying the outdoors - rain, hail or shine. Well maybe not hail, let's be real!

03.01.2022 II TRACEY II Today we get to share some images of the junior classroom within Hospital School SA. This area is used for schooling of children from age 3 and a half to 10. This room presented a little bit of a challenge with a number of elements needing to be factored in to the design. The unattractive support post in the middle of the room had to stay. The kitchen is open to this area so the selections needed to work together. It was unknown whether the scope of the project... could stretch to replacing the existing joinery around the perimeter of the room so the lovely lemon laminate colour was worked into the colour scheme. Lastly, the beautiful hand-painted artwork on the ceiling, whilst providing inspiration, also clearly defined some of the colour selections and style of the design. This was definitely a design jigsaw puzzle! The design works each of the elements in together, and the piece de resistance is the tree. I love the tree. Turning a negative element into a positive component of the room which sets the tone of the room. A special mention for Acoufelt who supplied their WoodbeQuiet product in colour Wine Barrel for this purpose. A tree that absorbs noise!!! Other suppliers and trades involved in this component of the project include Floors-2-Go SA Fine Concepts Signature Floors Polyflor Australia Dulux Australia Armstrong Flooring Australia Hettich Australia Image Robes McDermott Flooring and Leopard Lens Photography.

01.01.2022 II TRACEY II Sharing an image that was sent in by the client for this build undertaken west of the city by Mahogany Homes. I love how the PGH Bricks & Pavers Tribeca brick has been used on the front pillars on the home, they add character and personality (some would say in keeping with the owners!). I had a chuckle at the title of their email, simply as "Guiding planes in at night". Need I say more...
