25.01.2022 In times of uncertainty it’s good to be grounded, be in nature and remember that the world is turning and seasons are changing. A visit to the garden reminded me of this today. Tomatoes ripening, flowers blooming, seeds sprouting. Find the beauty!

23.01.2022 A great resource for local veggie planting! It’s in an easy form for even beginner gardeners. Enjoy!

19.01.2022 BuG HoTELS What a great quick and easy activity to do with the kids at home! Let’s help our beneficial insects and teach ourselves and our kids about the wonders of nature. Have you made one? Share your pictures!

18.01.2022 A small but productive group attended our working bee last Saturday. The orchard was given some TLC and autumn seedlings planted. A special thanks to the new volunteers who weren’t shy and really got stuck in.

17.01.2022 We have seen an influx of new members in the last few months. Sadly we are unable to open the garden to the community at the moment but are looking forward to the hope of summer! If you want to get in with a great community initiative please check out ShareWaste! ***It connects local people able to compost your scraps. It was amazing to see in Broadford we have 5 households Registered (more than any of our closest big towns) as hosts but it seems that only 1(!!) has b...een able to connect with anyone to take their scraps! it’s easy, check it out! https://m.facebook.com/ShareWaste/

17.01.2022 Exciting times for our garden space and surrounding area! We can’t wait to see what our Council and local groups come up with.

16.01.2022 What an exciting surprise at the garden for our essential maintenance! Welcome to Spoonville a trend started to keep kids connected during isolation. Thanks to those who chose this spot it certainly put a smile on our faces! Be sure to check it out The orchard is stunning full bloom and we harvested the radishes and the last of the bok Choy We also planted the beans that were donated by a lovely follower in a sheltered planter box. Spring is certainly in the air!

15.01.2022 With extreme heat predicted this week make sure to think of your furry or feathered (or even scaly) friends! Our Members spent some time setting up water containers around the property today. **A tip we read was to put an island refuge (ie. rock) in deeper bowls so that bees and smaller folk don’t fall in and drown.

15.01.2022 While doing my maintenance at the garden today 4 King Parrots visited! The connection with nature and gardening brings with such feelings of hope! By the time these veggies are ready to harvest the world should be a very different place and hopefully for the good. Be kind, stay safe and well and get outside :)

14.01.2022 Finally some crops are coming in! A mix of Roma and Grosse Lisse tomatoes with more on the way *Should anyone be free Saturday join us for our monthly working bee, the first of the year, To tidy up and get some autumn/winter crop in. All welcome.

13.01.2022 Some of the beautiful produce from the garden that went to Jill, a member of the community who has been cooking up a storm for local families who are self isolating. 12.01.2022 A quick trip to check on the garden yesterday revealed some surprises, the orchard starting to bloom! National Tree day was a couple of weeks ago and it was great to see so many of the native plants and grasses a group planted last year thriving!

12.01.2022 When you are taking time out to smell the roses (or any flowering plant!) why not help out with research on our wild pollinators! Only 10 minutes of you time, something that we all may have a lot of!https://facebook.com/events/s/wild-pollinator-count/2437926209857666/?ti=icl

10.01.2022 Our favourite former gardening Australia presenter is doing FREE crisis gardening videos! Head to Good life permaculture page to check them out

04.01.2022 If you’re looking for something to do during isolation why not the Autumn bird count?! One of our members doing maintenance at the garden completed this as a beginner bird watcher today. It was a first time noticing Eastern Rosella’s there . https://www.facebook.com/878405022/posts/10163372402945023

02.01.2022 5 freshly picked bags of tomatoes from the Community Garden delivered to Love in Action Broadford:) With all this craziness in the supermarkets the donations have been low to our local needy families. Please find a donation bin near you and spare even a couple of essentials.

02.01.2022 An exciting moment for two of our youngest volunteers to be mentioned by Costa the Garden gnome in his live chat. He asked young people what they were doing to help the environment.

01.01.2022 A trip to check the garden revealed some bok Choi desperate to be picked. Voila!! One batch to eat and one to give away as Garden produce is always better when you share it with a friend This amazing recipe is posted in the comments
