Spotting a platypus in the wild is not an everyday occurrence in Australia . So we went to where we’d have the best shot - Broken River. Success! We were so excited! If you’re ever in the Withsundays it’s really worth the detour to Broken River Eungella National Park. They’re best seen at dusk and dawn ...so really requires an overnight stay in this fairly remote Park. Lodges available next to the Broken River at Broken River Mountain Resort. Camping is also available next to the Broken River at Broken River Bush Camp. Booking for the lodges and camping is a must.
