25.01.2022 Dust off those walking shoes Get on your beats Do yourself a favour

25.01.2022 I am definitely continuing to exercise at home - modifying the depth of that squat though!

24.01.2022 Goodbye jewellery. Goodbye nails Hello everyone After careful consideration and watching and waiting as some restrictions have been eased...... We have resumed in person appointments. We will continue to practise strict distancing and hygiene protocols. We are still offering Telehealth as well, if you would prefer. Come and start your journey to better pelvic health.

22.01.2022 I work with women regularly as they are transitioning through the stages of menopause. Pelvic health physiotherapy can help with many of the symptoms of this period of a woman's life: bladder leakage or urgency, becoming aware of prolapse, discomfort with sex or changing ability to exercise, to name a few. We can stay healthy with a really positive quality of life.

21.01.2022 Make an appointment with me to start or continue your pelvic health management. There are lots of strategies we can implement together: video calling or phone. Private health funds are still getting sorted. Hopefully we will know specifics by April 14. Will keep you posted

20.01.2022 I have bladders speak to me often when their owners tell me about their urgency and frequency! If you are having some trouble give this sound advice a try.

20.01.2022 Very well done. You don't have to put up with these bladder problems though. Come and see me and learn about management strategies to help you get back to being the boss of your bladder again!

19.01.2022 Even though my son in Melbourne thinks 12 degrees is summer, it has been a bit chilly recently for those of us here, living in the best place on earth . Some excellent advice to ponder. Stay well.

18.01.2022 Easter is nearly over for 2021. I hope you were able to have a rest.

14.01.2022 I have followed Professor Alice Roberts since I first watched her on Time Team. An interesting read devoid of hype.

14.01.2022 I hope that you had as happy an Easter as possible . Is it time now to awake from the chocolate haze (hmm....is it ever really that time?) I like this article from the ABC especially as it prioritises exercise for self care. We are so fortunate to still be able to exercise outside in this beautiful country of ours.... So, some encouragement from me: read the article and then put your sports shoes on (oh and your clothes ) and go for a walk. Even for 15 minutes. Every little bit of movement helps, not only your body but your mind and sense of well being. Take care. Stay well .

12.01.2022 There is a lot of conflicting info on the internet surrounding DRA. Much of what's out there can be fear inducing & limiting in guiding women about what they C...AN do for improving day to day function and exercise. Much of what is out there is not evidence based. Did you know that 100%....that's right...100% of women are thought to experience some degree of DRA towards the end of pregnancy (Fernandes da Mota et al. 2015) This suggests that temporary separation related to pregnancy should be considered absolutely normal If excessive DRA that continues months after having a baby is impacting your abdominal strength/function, self-confidence or quality of life seek assessment from a specialist physio who can evaluate whether DRA is an issue & what management is best. If you are unsure how to access a physio for this issue speak with your GP or check out the @squeezy directory of physio specialising in women's/pelvic health. #pelvicroar #mythbusting #Diastasis #DiastasisRecti #abdominalseparation #mummytummy #DRA #conflictingadvice #SeparationInPregnancyIsNormal #physioworks #DiastasisDoesntNeedToBeDisastrous See more

11.01.2022 We would like to let you know that Bronwyn Jest Physiotherapy is temporarily changing how we practise for the month of April, commencing Monday 30 March 2020. We have made this decision based on the current health concerns surrounding Coronavirus (COVID-19) and that limiting social exposure is necessary in the immediate future. We felt it was time to pause in person appointments. But we do have another option for you. If you would like to keep your appointment:... Bronwyn can provide consultation and treatment via a video call. The set up is easy and we will guide you through. Is this something you would like to organise now or would you like more information about it? Please contact us to set this up. We can also have a phone consultation. We will resume in person appointments as soon as possible. We will contact you when this is in place. Please visit the website www.bronwynjestphysiotherapy.com.au. We are very grateful for your support. Please take care and stay well. Best wishes, Bronwyn and Tina

11.01.2022 Good stuff. If you would like guidance on how to safely start or return to jogging come and have a chat about core and lower limb strength. Especially if you have some pelvic floor challenges

10.01.2022 Catherine Hamlin is an angel on earth.

10.01.2022 Phew! My first few telehealth appointments have gone really well. Very grateful to my generous patients who have been patient while I figure out how to do this. I can remember clearly when the only form of 'live' communication was a black Bakelite phone with a manual dial and a cord attached to the wall! And no, I'm not in my pajamas

10.01.2022 If this happens it will change women's lives

09.01.2022 We are still open and welcoming our patients. We are concerned about everyone's well being so there will be a few extra precautions when you arrive eg hand washing as you come in to see me. Rest assured I will be continuing to follow my standard hygiene practices. I look forward to seeing you soon.

09.01.2022 This is beautiful

09.01.2022 Number 2. Astra Zeneca

09.01.2022 This wonderful woman is a huge part of the reason I changed the focus of my practice to pelvic floor rehabilitation. This is a woman who should be celebrated. Vale Catherine Hamlin.

04.01.2022 Timely and vitally important.

04.01.2022 Love this. It is SO important to be a human first as well as a clinician.

03.01.2022 We are in uncertain and challenging times. I thought to outline the things we are doing at my practice to keep the environment as hygienically clean as we can possibly make it. It is a bit of a read 1. In the waiting room, we have rearranged the chairs to allow 1.5m between them and removed all reading materials / toys for the time being. 2. Cover all possible patient treatment areas within droplet spread distance with disposable impermeable layers of plastic film, plastic... backed paper towel or plastic bags. This is changed after every patient. 3. Clean all heavy contact areas: door handles, front desk, chairs etc a minimum of twice a day. If a surface is visibly contaminated, we do it immediately as an extra clean. 4. Wipe the bed / desk / gym surfaces down between every patient with neutral detergent which kills virus particles rendering them non infective. 5. Dispose of used materials in sealed plastic bags. 6. Screen patients and ask those with any symptoms of cough, fever and generally feeling ill to not even enter the premises. 7. Request all patients to wash their hands on entering the premises. https://www.who.int//novel-coronavirus-2/advice-for-public 8. Ask patients not to show up too early for their appointments, and do all we can to minimise waiting times. 9. We encourage that anyone not actively involved in the appointment should not attend the surgery. 10. Wave to greet no shaking hands etc (We are always happy to see you!). I have practised correct hand hygiene for many years now (I have a tough boss who ensures I do an annual Hand Hygiene certification). You will notice I never wear my rings or watch or bracelets etc. This makes sure I can clean and dry my hands effectively - germs like wet skin. I use clean gloves with every patient and will change them again if necessary while with a patient. I also wear only short sleeved tops to keep my arms bare from the elbows down. Thank you for reading. Stay well.

02.01.2022 Yes - great advice.
