25.01.2022 On behalf of the Brookers family let me pass our deepest condolences on the recent passing of a legend trainer Ronnie Phillips who looked after so many players at Gembrook through the 90’s. To say Ronnie was a larger than life character would be an understatement. He will always be remembered as a great man, trainer and character who loved what he did. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Phillips family and friends during this tough time. ... RIP Ronnie.

25.01.2022 The club had a pleasant surprise when it received Dave Donaldson's old jumper #1. The jumper will be framed and put on display in the new club rooms. Dave Donal...dson brought an era of success to the club and Both David and his wife Sandra, were both excellent club people working tirelessly for the Brookers. Thank you Hilton for donating your father's jumper, we are honored to receive it. Please see LEGENDS OF THE CLUB information about Dave Donaldson from Lesley Licciardi, our club historian. See more

24.01.2022 Andrew Shipp sailed across the seas from Port Springvale to Fremantle after being drafted at Pick 64 in the 1998 National Draft. Fittingly, he was drafted along...side fellow common nouns Luke Penny, Josh Carr, Daniel Schell, Lee Walker, Steven Baker, Peter Street, Andrew Emblem, Ray Hall and Simon Feast. He dropped anchor in the Dockers senior side in his debut season, playing 16 games, kicking 12 goals and averaging 13.2 disposals in 1999. Shipp was buoyant about his early-career form but this would end up being his ferry best season. Shipp’s breakout game in Round 15 against St Kilda made waves amongst the millions of Fremantle fans across the world; collecting 22 disposals, 7 marks, 1 goal and 6 free kicks for. Shipp’s position in the Fremantle fleet would drift in his next three years at the club, playing 19 games during this time. After club coach Chris Connolly gave Shipp a stern, yet nauti look, his AFL career capsized at the end of 2002. During his exit interview, it was reported that Connolly said Shipp couldn’t seas the moment, but had left a lasting legasea amongst his piers. His reaction to being delisted? Shipp happens. Games: 35 Goals: 19 FKD: +14 Hitouts: 1 Andrew Shipp - thanks for the memories

17.01.2022 Silvio Foschini is back at the Brookers. Another massive announcement for the Gembrook footy club and particularly Dan Fidone and the U18’s group with ex AFL... star and former Brookers Senior Coach (1989 1991) Silvio Foschini has committed to our U18’s for 2020. He will work closely as a mentor for our first year U18’s coach Dan Fidone which we believe Dan will benefit greatly from along with those around the group and others at the club. Silvio has also taken on the role as an Assistant Coach for the U18’s, committing to one night a week for training and game days on Saturday’s. Silvio will bring a wealth of football knowledge to the group that will be second to none. He is very passionate about Gembrook and has loved the club since he first walked through the doors back in 89. While winning football games is a focus, he is also very committed developing the young men into better people. Welcome back legend. 01.01.2022 The GCFNC would like to send their sincere condolences to Margaret and Angelo, Neil and Kim and their respective families on the passing of Ross. As a new Austr...alian, Ross wanted to be part of the local community and so found the Gembrook Football Club. He never hesitated to make donations when more money was required to the finish the club rooms or to build the fence around the ground. He was very proud to see his son Neil (Buzza) playing for the Brookers and especially proud when he played in two premiership sides. In July last year, Ross came to watch his last game. He was so excited sitting with his Brooker beanie, which he has hardly taken off since. The boys all shook his hand after the game, which bought a tear to his eyes. We are sure that he would have loved to see his grandson Jesse out there donning the mighty green guernsey. Due to the season cancellation he unfortunately never had the chance. Many will have fond memories of him with his cigarette stuck to his lip as he chatted away. Rest in Peace Rossi.
