25.01.2022 Unfortunately, the weather gods are against us tomorrow (Sunday July 26) and there will be no boat hires. Apologies for any inconvenience which is caused but "we stand for safety first"!

25.01.2022 After an eventful uneventful week with Gale and Wind Warnings (which had only a very limited impact in Brooklyn) things are certainly looking up for the weekend. We have one BBQ Boat available for tomorrow and a few available for Sunday. Give us a call at the shop if you want to enjoy a delightful day on one of the most beautiful places.

25.01.2022 No boats from 12.30pm today due to wind warnings. These will persist throughout Monday as well (we expect gale force conditions and quite a lot of rain). Stay safe and we will be likely back with our hires again by Tuesday.

25.01.2022 Plenty of locally caught Hawkesbury Prawns in stock plus locally caught snap-frozen yellowtail along with the usual offering of Clarence River prawns, king worms (beach worms), Lund's Squid, Tweed Premium squid, pilchards (both IQF and salted across a variety of sizes), chicken gut, whole mullet and mullet fillets, whitebait etc etc. Fresh calamari in by Friday!!

24.01.2022 We have a few calls this week from clients who are under the impression that the social distancing requirements for commercial vessels have been relaxed. Please be advised that the rules have not changed at this point in time and that all responsible commercial hire operators are still operating under the pre-existing 4 square metre rule per passenger. In our case this means that for tinnies only 2 per boat (unless from the same household, then 4 or 6 depending upon which b...oat). For BBQ and Pontoon Boats as follows: Entertainer - 6 unless from the same household (then 12) Calypso - 5 unless from the same household (then 12) Bertha - 5 unless from the same household (then 10) Angler - 4 unless from the same household (then 10) Fish n Cruise - 3 unless from the same household (then 8) This are the rules. There are no exceptions to the rules and they DO CHECK while you are on the water.

23.01.2022 October 11 is starting to firm as the re-opening of hires (by October 18 at the latest). If anyone is wondering why we haven't opened earlier to coincide with the slight return of "freedoms" it is because our advice stipulates that we must abide by Public Health Orders, and there happens to be NO mention in these orders classifying the hiring aspect of a business as "essential". We've used the time very productively however and when we open expect some great looking boats and fully vaccinated staff. We will also be moving to an online booking system but this is a work-in-progress so feel free to call us to sort your needs. We stand for Safety-First and we always will! We look forward to providing you with our great service soon. Keep well in the interim.

22.01.2022 Brooklyn Central now carries 10L Jerry's of Diesel for emergencies. You buy the fuel and the Jerry for $39.90 (ie you get to keep the jerry).

20.01.2022 From this weekend we have expanded our bait offering to include fresh locally caught Hawkesbury Squid. We will snap freeze these in the first instance. We also have a new supplier of California Loligos (squid, which I have had real success with on the Hawkesbury). Watch this space for even more offerings in the near future. We know our river and we love to fish!!!!

20.01.2022 We are expecting a great day on the water today. The fishing has remained good all week and I expect there'll be the odd jewie and good flattie around in the recognised spots. What a way to social distance I say :)

20.01.2022 We have some fresh-frozen local yakkas, some beautiful calamari, a heap of delightful locally caught prawns (if I haven't eaten them all), and bucket loads of other great bait. When only the best will do I heard someone once say :).

08.01.2022 With the onset of westerlies and cooler temps the fishing lately has been a bit on the slow side. I have seen one good solid jewie well over the 1 metre mark and a few flathead and bream but not a lot.

07.01.2022 Due to strong winds coupled with high chance of reasonably heavy rain we have made the decision to cancel all boat hires for both the rest of today as well as tomorrow. Don't fret too much though ..... the strong run of jewies we've been experiencing for the past few weeks has slowed considerably with the drop in barometric pressure and water temps - they'll be back on I'm sure when this system pushes through. Take care and we'll catch you all on the flip side.

05.01.2022 Good bait makes the difference between zero and hero. A few more nice jewies over the last 2 days (in the mid 90's) and a couple of quality flatties (in the mid 70's). I just loaded the freezers with a delivery of fresh calamari, yakkas and Hawkesbury prawns so pop in. Have a great weekend :).
