25.01.2022 Last night Broome North PS staff attended Bugarrigarra Nyurdany (Because of the Dreaming): the Stories of Yawuru Country and People at Nyamba Buru Yawuru. It was a great opportunity to listen to and learn from Yawuru elders and seniors as we aim to become a culturally responsive school

21.01.2022 Ryus Ripper Recess! Congratulations to all the students of Broome North Primary School, who enjoyed 20 minutes of extra recess today. Ryus Ripper Recess was a whole school reward for reaching our term target of 15, 000 Besties.

20.01.2022 Here's what's on in Week 7 at Broome North PS... The Year 6 2021 Camp fundraising committee are hosting a free dress day on Friday 27 November. Please bring a gold coin donation in to the front office. Don't forget TROPPO this Saturday, 21 November from 4 - 7pm at the school - entry via NAKAMURA Avenue gate only.

20.01.2022 We had a fantastic day at Wednesdays interschool football and netball carnival. Our kids performed their best and showed impeccable sportsmanship throughout the day. Thanks to Mrs Guthrie for organising, the Broome North P&C for supplying lunch, Broome SHS for providing the umpires and Abby Murray for capturing all the action with her camera.

20.01.2022 Broome North PS had its annual Book Week celebration today. Students from every year group took to the catwalk and certificates and book awards were given for best dressed girl and boy in each year level. Many thanks to the parents and carers for coming along to support the event and to all the families who made a huge effort with costumes for their children. There were lots of fantastic and original dress ups and the whole school had a great time celebrating Book Week. We even had a special visit from the KSP 0-3 Program students who started off the parade with a bang! Thanks also to the amazing Abby Murray Photography for taking some great photos for us!

18.01.2022 There was plenty of fast action out on the oval and the netball courts today as our Year 5 and 6 footy and netball teams participated in interschool sports against teams from Roebuck PS, Broome PS and Cable Beach PS. Photos to follow soon!

17.01.2022 Today our Year 1 and 2 students had their first ever Yawuru lesson with our talented Miss Varney. They had a great time learning the words for sit, stand, turn around and jump. They then went fishing for salmon, or wirliwirligaja walgwalgayi. Mabu junu! Yawuru

15.01.2022 What a fabulous cross-country today! Well share lots of photos from the day once theyre processed, likely on Monday But first, check this out... its AWESOME! The 2.5km Year 6 boys race was the final event of the day.... The young fella in the red shirt was the final competitor on the course. His whole class gathered around him at the top of the straight and got him over the line. What a moment. Broome North PS kids are simply amazing!

15.01.2022 Congratulations to our Broome North PS athletes on their performances at todays interschool athletics carnival. Our kids were superbly behaved and competed hard to place third overall. We also won the equity shield, bringing home an interschool trophy for the first time in our short history A HUGE thank you to Mrs Guthrie who expertly guided the team, ably assisted by Miss Jess today and Mr Turner on Wednesday. Thanks also to the fabulous Melita Grant who was with the team in the bay all day Congratulations also to our individual medal winners: Chad (Y2 boys), Neve ( Y3 girls), Alanah ( Y4 girls) and Bella ( Y4 girls).

05.01.2022 Thank you to everyone who dressed in yellow and brought in a gold coin donation for Daffodil Day! We raised an amazing $555 for the Cancer Council. What an awesome effort! A massive thank you to the wonderful Mrs Triyono for organising such a great event. Money raised this Daffodil Day Appeal will help fund some of the brightest researchers in the country who are dedicated to discovering the next cancer breakthroughs.

04.01.2022 We had an amazing day at our House Athletics Carnival for 2020! The students behaviour was brilliant and everyone had a fantastic time participating and cheering on their houses. Congratulations to Stingrays for taking out the overall shield ahead of Mangrove Jacks and Turtles . A HUGE thanks to all of our parent helpers, canteen volunteers, school staff members and our wonderful Physical Education teacher Ms Tracey Guthrie for making the day such a success! (Well put up individual photos as soon as theyre ready )

04.01.2022 Today we thanked our cleaners for the amazing work they do. We really appreciate all the extra cleaning and sanitising theyve been doing to keep our school clean and sparkling

04.01.2022 We are delighted to finally welcome a very special staff member to our school community. Although their influence has been around our school for a while, it is only now that they have been able to attend our school in person. Please welcome our PBS school mascot, Ryu! After a long journey, Ryu arrived yesterday and loved meeting our very excited students. We look forward to seeing Ryu around the school during 2021 and beyond. ... Thank you to Ms Harris-Walker, Ms Kevan and the PBS team for supporting Ryu with his journey to BNPS.

03.01.2022 Our early childhood students and staff have loved having Ms Gemma and Mrs Westlake working in Marndan 1 and 3 respectively this term. Both are completing their final teaching practicums before they become registered teachers in Semester 2; hopefully well see them at Broome North PS doing some relief soon! Best wishes for the remainder of your pracs and for a rewarding career ahead, ladies!

03.01.2022 Our first Kindy/Pre-primary Athletics Carnival was a huge success. We saw lots of smiling faces as the students participated in rotations including vortex throws, relays, sack races and egg/spoon races. The highlight for many was the parent/child piggy back races at the end of the session. Many thanks to Ms Guthrie for organising the event and all the staff who put in so many extra hours making sure it all ran smoothly. Thanks must also go to the wonderful Abby Murray Photography for coming along and taking some amazing photos for us. Were excited to see the results of the House jumps and throws events tomorrow and the Athletics Carnival for Years 1 - 6 on Friday, 21 August. Programs have been sent to families via the DOJO app and notes were also sent home with students yesterday.

02.01.2022 Our last icy pole day for the year is on tomorrow afternoon at the school gates. Just $1 each, raising money for next year's Year 6 Camp. Remember tomorrow is the last day of school for students for the year.

02.01.2022 Holidays are just around the corner, but our fabulous teachers are still working hard all the way to the end of term! Here they are doing after-school writing moderation, a process that ensures consistency of grading for our students. We are so lucky to have such professional and dedicated staff at our school!

02.01.2022 Today we hosted Hon Minister Sue Ellery, Director General Lisa Rodgers and Emeritus Professor Bill Louden at Broome North PS. Three of our amazing teachers, Krista, Robyn and Mel (pictured here with Ms Rodgers), modelled snippets of the high quality instruction our kids experience in every classroom, every day. Our guests were blown away with how capable our kids are!
