Get in quick if ur up for some broometime guys.. Also flights doubling in price and doubling again as Broome fills with people from across the globe so if your looking at visiting better make decisions n act quick.

Where our new home wouldst be Now, though not native The trees toiled and survived Sinking their roots deep in Pindan These new locals they thrived Like Tamarind and Boab We seek not to displace Only to love, respect and share This beautiful place Though first the fruit of the tamarind Can be strange and sour to taste With time its flavour is loved Changing a mind made in haste Though the boab arrived From a land far away How incomplete the scene Were they not found today Like Tamarind and Boab Our offspring now live Born in the beautiful Kimberley This is home, they are native. The blood in their veins Red as the sand at their feet For their claim to belong They need not compete And if in their future This land they must part Theyll remain locals always Because Broomes in their heart So now we are here View us not with suspicion Because nought can be gained But sadness and division Seek not anger or conflict Not prejudice or adversity Choose rather friendship, trust And greater diversity Like Tamarind and Boab We have now found our home And wish to look to the future Not to pick over old bones New friendships can be forged New trust can be earned If we throw off the shackles Of divisions weve learned Look to the future my friends To all I beseech And of past hatred and conflict Our children un-teach Lets be first to say The divisions are gone And the sins of the past forgiven As regretted, cannot be undone Let our children live free Of the yoke of despair Not to carry the scars Caused and endured whenst not there And though you may ridicule Or choose not to believe The thoughts in this poem Are my heart on my sleeve Here, my plea ends This poem is done Lets show the world Broome can be one By Glenn Horner
