25.01.2022 I'm live with Fiona Patten MP discussing why we went to Parliament yesterday, and what the role of the Parliament is in holding the government to account during COVID-19. Contribute to the discussion in the comments.
24.01.2022 I encourage you to sign this community petition by Mr Sam Alcordo for an off-leash dog park in Vermont. With so many of us stuck at home during the COVID-19 pandemic, it is important that outdoor recreational activities are made as easy and enjoyable as possible. Getting outside for some fresh air and exercise requires much less self-convincing if you’re able throw the ball around with Rex at the local park.... I also encourage you to register and support the PAWGUST initiative by Guide Dogs Victoria. PAWGUST challenges you and your dog to walk 30 minutes a day for all 30 days of August, with the intention of raising funds for guide dog puppies in training. P.S. Don’t forget to wear your masks!
23.01.2022 18 August - originally known as Long Tan Day is now commemorated as Vietnam Veterans' Day. The victory at Long Tan in 1966 was not without its costs. Seventeen were killed, including another who later died of wounds sustained during the battle. This included eleven national servicemen. While our veterans here in Victoria cannot gather in the same way as previous years, we remember and thank them for their service this Vietnam Veterans' Day.... Lest we forget.
21.01.2022 Three guesses who I’ll be cheering for in Saturday’s major semi-final.... Go Vixens!
20.01.2022 ALL IT TAKES IS TO LOOK TWICE, SAVE A LIFE Rider Aware was set up by Kristine Mitchell after her brother tragically died while motorbike riding, by colliding with a car that failed to check their blind spot. Rider Aware sells two small car stickers to serve as a simple reminder to always double check for motorcyclists, especially when changing lanes.... You can help to get every rider out there home safe. https://rideraware.com.au/
20.01.2022 Music can be a big help during difficult times. If you’re feeling a bit lonely at the moment have a listen to this new song from regional Victorian singer songwriter Taylor Sheridan. Written just after metropolitan Melbourne went into stage 4 restrictions, ‘You’re Never Alone’ is the warm embrace we all need right now. soundcloud.com/taylor_sheri/youre-never-alone/s-8PmVvwAHE8N
19.01.2022 Today is International Day of People with Disability. We celebrate the achievements and contributions of all people in our community with disability.
19.01.2022 Victorian businesses don't want welfare. They want the opportunity to safely reopen with a COVID safe plan. The Premier's business support package does not go far enough to help businesses that have been closed for months and may not be around when our state re-opens.
19.01.2022 Do you think VicRoads should introduce online testing for the Learners Permit? There is a growing backlog of people waiting to do their computer-based test to get their Learners permit. This means a delay in people being able to start getting driving experience, as soon as restrictions allow. ... Have your say on whether you think VicRoads should implement online testing for learner drivers. https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/5C7WKSV
19.01.2022 Congratulations to the Melbourne Vixens, winners of the 2020 Suncorp Super Netball grand final! The Vixens won 66-64 against West Coast Fever. It was a great game by goal scorer Mwai Kumwenda who was judged player of the match with 47 goals from 50 attempts.... What a great send-off for retiring stars Caitlin Thwaites and Tegan Philip. Brilliant effort by Simone McKinnis and her coaching panel and co-captains Kate Moloney and Liz Watson. It was an outstanding season by the entire squad including Emily Manix, Jo Weston, Kate Eddy and Allie Smith Here's a photo from the archives of myself and Mwai!
18.01.2022 Today is the first day of easing of restrictions in metropolitan and regional Victoria
16.01.2022 It’s National Recycling Week! It’s time that Victoria had a Cash for Containers scheme. We’re the only state in Australia without one. The Liberal Nationals just want to get this done to clean up our environment, boost recycling and boost jobs. But, the Andrews Labor Government wants to wait 3 more years to 2023, letting more plastic waste damage our environment. ... We say: why wait?
15.01.2022 ** TUNE IN AT 4PM ** My job as a non-government MP is to provide transparency of government and hold them to account for the decisions they make. I'll be discus...sing how important that is during this time of covid with veteran MP and former President of the Legislative Council, Bruce Atkinson MP. Send through any questions you have for our Live discussion at 12.30 pm. We'll discuss solutions for how we could manage to sit online and dealing with this as the new normal. Really looking forward to the discussion!

11.01.2022 I've been popping into a few of my favourite local eateries to grab a takeaway and check on how they are coping. Thank you to all the small businesses continuing to service our community during the pandemic. Now more than ever small businesses need our support. So grab a takeaway (if you live within 5km) and follow your local businesses on social media.... 1: Gala Pizza | Nunawading 2: Caffe Stazione | Ringwood 3: Jacqueline Coffee & Pastry | Mitcham 4: Lucky Corner | Donvale *Images 1 & 2 were taken before the introduction of mandatory mask wearing in public*

07.01.2022 This Christmas think about supporting small business and shopping at local shops in your area. It's been a tough year for business. Christmas is a great time to support small businesses while sharing the love of gifts with your family and friends!
06.01.2022 The emotional toll on children being away from school and their friends cannot be underestimated. The Andrews Labor Government must no longer ignore the mental health of our children. Daniel Andrews needs to announce a plan to safely return Victorian students to onsite learning immediately.... Parents have done a great job in tough circumstances, but students are the ones missing out. Labor needs to get our children back into the classroom.
04.01.2022 It was great to celebrate Bhutan's 113th National Day last week at Fed Square. It's warming to see the strong sense of community support throughout the pandemic within the Bhutanese community in Victoria. Bhutanese Community in Australia Inc
