22.01.2022 cultural awareness weekend - Friday evening at ADFAS with Brian McDonald speaking to the nomadic tribes people of Iran and Afghanistan, and their beautiful naturally coloured woven rugs and household objects. A knowledgeable and passionate speaker on the subject. Saturday morning visiting the Sculptures in the garden at Rosby. This marvellous event continues to grow at all levels. It is a must see event for the weekend. Purchase a sculpture for your own garden knowing that you are supporting the community and the guide dogs. A few tasters to encourage your attendance.

19.01.2022 All done and dusted - sad but exciting. New adventures ahead. People being shown through building on Tuesday so who knows what the site will bring next. Signs come down on the weekend. Farewell Fairview ArtSpace Ive enjoyed participating and sharing a cultural entity with the region. Thank you to all those who have visited the gallery/ cafe and shared their experience, their work and their joy.

18.01.2022 Graham Smith and Rod Spicer showing at gallery from Thursday 9th November till Saturday 23rd December. Gallery hours 10-5 Thursday to Monday inclusive. Graham is and abstract artist and ceramicist. Graham is showing a retrospective of his artworks and a collection of earthenware vessels with a primitive feel. Rod Spicer has bought a marvellous collection of impressionist landscapes balanced with some still life and figurative pieces.

14.01.2022 It has been a busy week at the gallery. Thursday saw the formal opening of picturing recovery in the bush. A collaboration between Benevolent Society, western Sydney University, mental health clients of our region and Fairview ArtSpace. Powerful narratives linked with a collection of images that gave meaning to the participants recovery process. Representatives from western Sydney university and Neami, Dubbo spoke to the relevance of the show and the value it offered participants. They spoke of the importance of research and its place in assisting practice change. Music by Jane and poetry by Crystal were an uplifting addition to the morning tea. The event was catered for by Lesley Byfield Papworth.

13.01.2022 Easter is almost upon us and new works are ready to show. Pamela Welsh will have ceramic sculptural works arriving for 29th March. A selection of pieces in "The girl who swallowed the glass piano series" loosely influenced from the life of Princess Alexandra from Bavaria. - "who at the age of 23 was observed awkwardly walking sideways down the corridors of her family palace. When questioned by her worried royal parents, she announced that she had swallowed a grand glass piano" - Deborah Levy

12.01.2022 A busy Easter in Mudgee. As a reward I am off to a wedding in the Hunter for some very dear friends. The gallery will therefore be closed Thursday 5th April and Friday morning 6th April. Should be open by 2pm. See you all over the weekend.



11.01.2022 Maria Oates work drawing many out in this spring weather. We are open 10-5 thurs to Monday so come and see for yourself. Enjoy the local ceramic artists work, coffee and yummy cakes.

11.01.2022 New exhibition kicks off 1st March Fairview Artspace. Our lovely creative chef from the Zin House, Jeremy Metivier, has been applying pigment to canvas and will be ready to hang his work at the gallery very soon. The show opens formally 4pm Sunday 4th March. Some tasty bites and wine thanks to the Small Winemakers Centre. Come and join us to celebrate this exciting new show.

Official opening Thursday 2nd November 11.30am come and join us for morning tea and opportunity to hear about the valuable work the Benevolent Society is doing to ensure recovery options for mental health patients in our region.

08.01.2022 I have been a little quiet in the New Year, but have enjoyed some lovely visitors to the region owing into the gallery. I have in turn enjoyed delivering a number of Rod Spicers paintings to Sydney and another heading to Dubbo shortly. Not one to let an opportunity pass by - two of my pals came with me and we visited NSW art gallery to enjoy the Dutch masters exhibition. Stunning. Lunch at Bronte, retail therapy and a slow drive home. What a marvellous country we live in.

07.01.2022 What a marvellous evening at Fairview Artspace - Na Lan brought her culinary skills to Mudgee for a pop up Yum Cha style dinner. The menu was soooo good, only made better by working in an environment where the aromas of cooking spices, ginger, crispy duck and marinated sea perch, permeated the air. mmmmmmmmmmm The crowd loved all of it and were extremely appreciative of the access to such amazing fare. 05.01.2022 Maria Oates work will be on show at the gallery from Thursday 31st August. Maria is a well established artist from Dubbo, thrilled to have her new works with us over the festival.

Well we have some good news! Our wonderful chef and owner Nalan will be at the Fairview Art Gallery in Mudgee on the 8th of December to cater for an exciting night with a 3 course meal.
