18.01.2022 The Rt Revd Dr Ian Coutts, Anglican Bishop of Bunbury, leads a service for ANZAC Day 2020 from the War Memorial Cathedral Church of St. Boniface Bunbury, assisted by the Revd Karen Cave, Parish Priest of St. John's Anglican Church, Albany. The bishop is standing on the spot where the first bishop of Bunbury, Frederick Goldsmith, held the first ANZAC Day service in Bunbury on the 25th April 1916 at 4:45pm. The Cathdral land had been purchased two months earlier and Bishop Goldsmith was keen to hold a divine act of worship on the site. The Revd Karen Cave is standing on the spot where Padre Ernest White held the first dawn service in Australia on ANZAC Day 1930 that would grow to become Australia’s most renowned and enduring commemorative ceremony.
