25.01.2022 Ever wondered exactly what happens after your home recycling gets taken away? We visited the iQ Renew Material Recovery Facility (MRF) on the NSW Central Coast which sorts materials from recycling bins of a number of large councils including the Central Coast, Ku-ring-gai and Northern Beaches. This MRF sorts 30 tonnes of recyclable waste per hour! And in doing so, saves 105,000m3 of landfill a year. This equals 20,000 tonnes of greenhouse gases being reduced a year, the ...equivalent of removing 4,582 cars from the road. Did you learn anything new about recycling from this video? Tell us in the comments below #NationalRecyclingWeek #GoBeyondTheBin #reducereuserecycle

21.01.2022 The trailer for the new Greta Thunberg documentary is here. The film follows the teen activist as she travels across the Atlantic Ocean to attend the United Nations Climate Change Summit. Over the course of the movie we watch Greta transform from average high school student to face of the global youth climate movement. Greta praised the documentary during its Venice film festival debut, saying it captured her "shy, nerdy" side. "You did succeed in framing me as myself and n...ot the person that the media frames me to be, not the angry, naive child who sits in the United Nations General Assembly screaming at world leaders. Because thats not the person I am," she said. "So, I think he definitely made me seem like a more shy, nerdy person which is the person that I am."

15.01.2022 Planet Ark = certified carbon neutral! Weve offset all of our greenhouse gas emissions as far back as 2017 and will continue this process every year into the future. What does carbon neutral mean? We have calculated our organisations total greenhouse gas emissions, including transport, energy use and food wastage, and have chosen certified environmental projects that reduce carbon in the atmosphere to offset these emissions through. We are certified through the national C...limate Active standard The amazing thing about carbon offsetting is that we can drastically reduce our impact on the environment AND support incredible likeminded organisations that might not have otherwise had the funding to operate.
