25.01.2022 With the club's growth at junior level Brunswick have entered another U12 Girls team to reflect where we are with our numbers! It is super exciting and we want you to know that we are growing and looking to take on more girls in U12. We have a great culture that is supportive, friendly, passionate and inclusive! If you are looking to step into the high performance level of shield or just wanting to give the sport a go we would love to welcome you into our fold and grow our great club even further. 25.01.2022 As all our members will have seen yesterday via email, BHC has decided to close our doors for the remainder of this week. No planned trainings will go ahead until at least next Monday but potentially longer. There is still a lot of uncertainty surrounding what yesterdays announcements mean for the return to community sport and our President and Committee will be having multiple meetings over the next 48-72 hours to be able to provide all our members with some more clarity. Please be patient with us as work through the next few days. We are working hard to try and keep the 2020 season on track and will provide you all with more information as soon as it comes to us.

22.01.2022 Its great to be back! Our first two nights have gone really smoothly and we are confident we are providing a safe environment for all our members to train. Just a reminder on the rules for training: - Arrive ready to train. Bring as little equipment with you as possible. - Stay in your car until your designated training time. - Head straight to your end of the pitch when you enter the ground. - Leave straight after training. ... - No spectators/visitors. 16.01.2022 We know it has been a tough time for everyone at the moment in Melbourne so it is more important than ever to check in with your mates. We encourage all our members so keep in touch with your team mates. It has been a long time since we could play out on the pitch but we are still a community and we will be here through all that COVID throws our way. Reach out, check in, look out for one another and hopefully we will all be back together again soon.

15.01.2022 Just as we open again we are closed! See you all in 6 weeks folks. As we have done through this whole saga we will keep in constant contact updating you of any changes affecting the club when they come to hand but for the next 6 weeks we are closed. Thank you to all our members for their patience. We have done our best to provide you the opportunity to play the sport you love but ultimately there is nothing we can do. Keep safe, follow the rules and hopefully we are able to catch up sooner than later.

15.01.2022 An email has been sent this afternoon to all members who had paid their membership fees for 2020. Please check your emails to see how the club is managing the refunding of 2020 membership fees payed before the cancellation of the winter season.

13.01.2022 Our U14 Girls Shield and U14 Boys Pennant hit the carpet for their first official training session back after the restrictions. Great to see another group of Wickers hitting the turf for the 2020 season. Bring it on!!

13.01.2022 The Men & Ladies of the Metro and Pennant squads hit the pitch this evening. The slight relaxing of restrictions allowed two groups of up to 20 players. Made for some more involved drills and felt a little more like a 'real' training session. Good to see the juniors still keen to get back into the seniors training schedule. 13.01.2022 Were well and truely on the move! Last night our U18s and U16 Boys started their training sessions on the ground. It was great to see our members back on the pitch and look forward to a full week of training for our juniors and seniors.

12.01.2022 We're back! Tonight we kicked off our Furious 5's competition with over 50 juniors getting back on the turf. The rain didn't even get a mention, it was just great to be back with friends and teammates and finally play some hockey. And the good news? 11.01.2022 Another great goalie development session this morning with both junior and senior keepers learning new skills and drills. A big thanks to Dayle Jones and Dan Ong for organising and running these great sessions over the past months.

10.01.2022 We're starting up skills sessions for our U14 and U16 girls! These sessions will be run by our senior women's coach Sean Heath and our women's section players and will cover all skills of the game. Sessions will start Sunday 15th Nov at 9:30am. 08.01.2022 We are disappointed to announce today that Tom Griffin, our Premier League Coach, has recently stood down due to family commitments. We are sad to see Tom go especially after the fantastic work he had done at the club over the last two years. We wish him and his family all the best. We have today, however, advertised the position of Premier League Head Coach. 08.01.2022 Tonight we finished up our Hookin2Hockey 2.0 sessions. It’s been fantastic over the past 4 weeks having players and parents return to the club and we’ve enjoyed every minute getting back out on the field. We look forward to seeing you all on our return in February. Finally a very big thanks to all our coaches from across the sections who made it all possible. 07.01.2022 We're Back! After having a break the junior section will be running 2 virtual training sessions a week for our U10 to U14 age groups starting next week. It's all about having fun, getting a stick back into your hands, and catching up with team friends. Look out for an email that outlines times of sessions. It's a simple sausage sizzle ($2.50, onion on top of course) and grown-up drinks at club prices. ... It's a fun event at the Wiley Reserve Clubrooms. Let's put a line under the year that wasn't and remind ourselves what a great bunch we are! With the weather forecast as being PERFECT there's plenty of space to spread out safely out and say hi again. A letter addressing the (potential) 2020 season structure and amended fee structure will be hitting your email accounts this morning if it hasn't already. We need everyone playing in 2020 to register ASAP. If you are not registered you are not covered by Hockey Victoria insurance if you get injured while playing or training. ... If you had already registered and paid your full fees for 2020 our treasurer will be in touch to discuss refunding the discounted portion of your fees. 02.01.2022 Last night is was announced the Hockey Victoria will be cancelling all planned 2020 winter competitions across all sections after the reinstatement of lockdowns in Melbourne. While this is a decision that was inevitable it is still crushing that we wont be able to run a season this year. - On a personal note I want to really state how proud I am of the BHC community for its unending resilience during this period. Everyone from committee level down has worked tirelessly to e...nsure we could allow all who wanted to play hockey the opportunity to do so at all moments the restrictions allowed for it. We are a strong community and we will be back, sooner rather than later. But for the time being please look after one another during this lockdown period. 01.01.2022 BHC will be reopening for training from this Monday night. Further detailed information around how the club plans to support all its members, especially those in lockdown, over the next few weeks will be emailed to all members later this afternoon. We look forward to once again reopening and working towards the beginning of our season in only a couple of weeks time.
