24.01.2022 work in progress, succulent studies. mixed media
21.01.2022 "Nothing is original. Steal from anywhere that resonates with inspiration or fuels your imagination. Devour old films, new films, music, books, paintings, photographs, poems, dreams, random conversations, architecture, bridges, street signs, trees, clouds, bodies of water, light and shadows. Select only things to steal from that speak directly to your soul. If you do this, your work (and theft) will be authentic. Authenticity is invaluable; originality is non-existent. And don’t bother concealing your thievery - celebrate it if you feel like it. In any case, always remember what Jean-Luc Godard said: It’s not where you take things from - it’s where you take them to."//Jim Jarmusch
21.01.2022 So excited to be part of the Art for Epilepsy Auction this year. You can visit and place a bid on my painting "The Lake" (I'm on page 4) - or on any number of AMAZING artworks! Don't miss out! All proceeds go to a great cause - Epilepsy Action Australia. Auction opened today, and runs through until March 26.
15.01.2022 Only 5 days left to go! Visit the Epilepsy Action Australia website, and support the #artforepilepsy auction. Don't miss out on some beautiful art for your home... and support a great cause as well. What's not to love about that? Visit Epilepsy Action Australia to get informed. http://artforepilepsy.com.au/prod/leticia-maguire-the-lake/
14.01.2022 Another one finshed, succulent #4. Three more to complete
12.01.2022 Feeling inspired! Lots of great books out there about creativity; and I found this one (of many!) lists to work my way through.

05.01.2022 Love this: Researcher Brené Brown writes, ‘I’m not very creative’ doesn’t work. There’s no such thing as creative people and non-creative people. There are only people who use their creativity and people who don’t. Unused creativity doesn’t just disappear. It lives within us until it’s expressed, neglected to death, or suffocated by resentment and fear.

02.01.2022 I've pre-ordered it! Can't wait to read "Wired to Create: Unraveling the Mysteries of the Creative Mind" Scott Kaufman and Carolyn Gregoire report on what we know so far... Creativity seems to be an inherently disruptive activity... 72% of people have creative insights in the shower. The introverts are onto something: solitude is where creativity thrives. Trying new things makes you more creative. Trust your intuition. Trauma has hidden creative properties. Daydreaming is surprisingly good for your brain. Some of the best ideas are widely ridiculed before they're revered.
