24.01.2022 Are you sick and tired of changing your diet again in an attempt to lose weight? The reality is, you don’t need to exclude anything in particular from your diet to achieve weight loss. That can in fact be very counter productive. All you need to do is learn the fundementals of dieting which give you the skills to create a diet that works for you, regardless of what your goals are. A good place to start is understanding how calories in vs calories out work. From there, ...integrating optimal flexibility in your diet is key to keeping your hormones & psychology at peace. I would love to answer some questions regarding building your own diet plan. Please ask in the comments below! #weightlossdiet #weightloss #fatloss #diet #dieting #fatlossdiet #nutrition #eatforweightloss #loseweightforever #goldsgymfremantle See more
23.01.2022 Willy Wonka Bars!!!! Do you wonder if Health Coaches and Personal Trainers eat chocolate and other fun foods? Of course we do! We are human, just like you, and we all have our sweet spots! For me, nostalgic sweets are my sweet spot, and when a client of mine brought in these two Willy Wonka bars for me, you bet ya I was excited!! I even shared a portion with a work colleague at 7:00am!! ... See health isn’t about labelling things as good and bad, as this can evoke feelings of guilt, failure and/or self loathing, further digging your hole deeper and making it harder to get out. It’s about building the appropriate habits, knowing who you are, and are not, and calibrating things when they get out of balance. This will make the very rare and spontaneous event of eating Willy Wonka bars at 7:00am a really fun occasion with no negative feelings towards it, therefore maximally enjoying life. Educate. Evolve. Enjoy -Bryn See more

21.01.2022 Sometimes I hear quotes like these and brush them off as if they’re meaningless. The thing is though, people have written these quotes because they have had a MASSIVE impact on either their own life, and/or the lives of people around them, and when you take a moment to really understand what they mean, they can also have massive impact on you. When it comes to weight loss, and living a healthier life where you have the energy and confidence to do all the things you en...joy, stories plays a HUGE roll. ’ ; My whole family is overweight, it’s in our genetics I’ll have to give up my favourite foods I’ve tried so many times, I can’t stick with it These stories become a part of your identity and who you are. This is important because how you identify yourself will drive all your behaviours, good & bad. If you identify as someone who’s excess weight is a result of genetics, the effort you put in to losing the weight will undoubtedly be low as you know it's a losing battle as you can’t change your genetics. This story is false, but the power it has over you is real. To overcome a story of how things are, try challenge the story. Ask yourself Is this story that I’ve repeated over the years actually legit?. Be honest and open. Ask someone who you trust and get their opinion. We all have stories, some that serve us and some that help us avoid pain and disappointment. The key here is to challenge your stories, and make sure they’re not holding you back from being the real you. A change in story = a change in behaviour = better habits = favourable results = you living the life you deserve What’s a story you’ve implemented or overcome? - Bryn See more

19.01.2022 Bryn & Robert Strike Again INTERMITTENT FASTING Have you heard about intermittent fasting? It’s free, there is SO much research about it, it’s been used for thousands of years. Whether you use it for health reasons, weight loss reasons or religious reasons, it is a great tool to have. There is so many benefits some of which I speak about in the video. I fast most days, generally between 16-20 hours. I do it for health, convenience and it simply fits well into my lifestyl...e. It’s fun to get lost in the research. There are so many benefits of fasting, and when you play devils advocate, considering you are healthy by general standards, fasting can be a very constructive and health promoting practice. As with any big alternation to your lifestyle, it’s always wise to seek professional advice from your practitioner to make sure it is right for you. Here’s to 72 hours with only water! 18.01.2022 To me long term health is more than just nutrition and exercise. It’s about having new experiences, trying new things, having fun and giving back to the community. I’ve always wanted to be able to play an instrument well. I’ve always deeply appreciated people who can simply pick up a guitar and play a song, or people who can run into a piano in a shopping centre and sit down and play some groovy jazz. I’ve always liked the idea of arriving somewhere and to unexpectedly... find the instrument you play sitting there, and to be able to bust out some nifty tunes. During lock down I figured I would spend some time to challenge myself and learn the Piano. At first, like anything, it seemed near impossible. Reading music was next level difficult! But with much patients, consistency and determination, I learnt to read music, string chords together, and this is my favourite piece I can play so far. The intro to the classic Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen. This Piano was actually one I ran into unexpectedly after my first night at Toastmasters at the Bowling Club in Fremantle. What a joy it is to play! A question for you what is something you’ve always wanted to try but haven’t been able to prioritise yet? Maybe now it’s time for you to reconsider it and give it a whirl Bryn See more

15.01.2022 I hear this a lot, and it’s a very fair opinion. For several decades sugar was believed to lead to fat gain. The problem now is people direct so much focus on abstaining from sugar that they don’t focus on what really matters. It can also make compliance and consistency hard to achieve, 2 prime factors for successful long term weight loss success. Reducing your sugar intake will more than likely reduce inflammation and stress in your body which will help you keep menta...lly focused resulting in better consistency. It will also help reduce your daily/weekly calorie intake which will facility your weight loss. But cutting it out completely might mean you don’t get to enjoy special occasions with friends, family or your partner which can make you feel like you’re missing out. Do this enough and you may find yourself resenting your weight loss journey, which will almost always result in you falling off the wagon. Learning and understanding how to control your calories and your energy balance is always number 1. How much sugary foods you have is personal to you. Focus on health, and you will lose weight. 15.01.2022 Here it is, your nutrition foundation to reaching your long term weight loss success! The 80/20 rule is often referred to as flexible dieting. Where most diets go wrong is they don’t factor in your social life, special occasions and simple enjoyments. The problem here is you will inevitably break the diet when the time / occasion / cravings occur. This can trigger feelings of guilt, shame and failure, furthermore throwing you more from your ’diet’. The 80/20 rule, a...lso known as flexible dieting may be a great option for you because it gives you the freedom to have a social drink on the weekend, have cake at a birthday, or have a Friday lunch with your work mates. Most pro athletes, body builders, bikini competitors, influencers and normal people just like you and I use the 80/20 rule to stay in shape without giving up the foods they love, or feeling left out on special occasions. Here is how it works Eat nutritiously dense, unprocessed whole foods 80% of the time. This is foods such as: Enjoy fun / not so nutritionally dense foods the other 20% of the time. This means you can enjoy some: now and then. In the Infographic on the left you can see that there is enough flexibility to have a couple wines and enjoy pizza on the weekend all while still getting closer to your health & weight loss goals. The key here is to allow yourself to have the freedom and to know it’s ok to have the foods you love, as long as you stick to the 80/20 rule. Another fun fact Numerous studies show that a more flexible approach to dieting results in better long term weight loss success than a diet that is restrictive nature does. This means you can still enjoy the foods you love and make longterm weightloss a reality for you and have these results for life! If you have any questions, please drop a comment below! Bryn See more

13.01.2022 SELF CARE. It’s so easy for us to get caught up serving other people. Our bosses, our colleagues, our partners, our kids. 11.01.2022 Have you had multiple unsuccessful attempts to lose weight, improve your energy, and overall health, happiness and zest for life? What if I told you there was more to it than food & exercise? In almost all my client successes we had to dive deeper, and one of those topics is limiting beliefs. To understand limiting beliefs, it’s important to know that our human psychology is designed to do 1 thing, and that is survive. A part of surviving means avoiding pain, and over your li...fe so far you have had experiences that have shaped your belief system to do just that. The problem is pain shows up in the form of guilt, failure, fear, disappointment etc and our own psychology will lean towards avoiding these feelings at all costs, unless we can convince it otherwise. As you can probably imagine, to have a successful and desirable health & weight loss outcome, you will have to take the risk and accept that you will have moments when you have feelings of guilt, failure, fear or disappointment in your journey, and that’s ok, everyone will. It is paramount you address these limiting beliefs and work through them, because they could be consciously, or unconsciously sabotaging the results you deserve. - Bryn
08.01.2022 If you’re stuck in your weight loss journey, look no further. If your weight isn’t budging, chances are you haven’t got the essential basics down packed yet. And that’s ok, it’s a lot to build on. You won’t get there overnight. And that’s also ok. So which one of these is most important? Without a doubt, a calorie deficit. If you aren’t in a calorie deficit it doesn’t matter how much protein you eat, how many fruit & vegetables you eat, how many carbs an...d fats you eat, how much exercise you do, how much sleep you get or how consistent you are, you will never reach your weight loss goal if you aren’t in a calorie deficit. How do you measure a calorie deficit? Plane and simple, are you losing weight? If yes, congratulations, you have found a calorie deficit. Are you staying the same weight? If yes, then you haven’t found the right calorie deficit for ‘you’ yet. But keep trying, you’ll find it. My advice is simple, embrace simplicity. Reframe from following different diets that cut out food groups for no good reason and master the basics. Start tracking your nutrition Set a calorie goal that puts you in a deficit Eat a wide variety of healthy whole foods Don’t restrict foods (if you don’t want to) Exercise & move your body regularly Sleep 7-9 hours Stay consistent and be patient You’ll get there Bryn #weightloss #fatlosstips #motivation #fremantlept #goldsgymfremantle #loseweight #caloriedeficit #fridaymotivation @ Gold's Gym Fremantle See more
07.01.2022 You are trying to lose weight, and you have such strong will power that you can go to birthdays, weddings, work gatherings, and not break your diet one bit. You haven’t had chocolate, bread or cake in 2 months. You’re going strong. But after a bad week at work and a big fight with your partner, you decide to go out with the girls and have some wine. A few wines in and you decide to eat out tonight. The following day your thought process is something like this Ahh screw ...it, I blew it last night, I’ll just enjoy the weekend and get back to it Monday. Monday comes, you feel embarrassed and upset that you went so overboard. You feel tired and unmotivated so you don’t go to the gym the whole week. One week turns into 2, and before you know, its been 6 months and summer is around the corner. Sound familiar? This is an all to common approach to weight loss - motivation is high, restrict all processed, high calorie dense foods, workout 5 times a week and lose weight rapidly! More times than not, this leads to burn out and a rollercoaster of emotion. Mindset is so important. It should never be I can’t eat that, but rather I chose not to eat that. Everything is a choice. That doesn’t mean it’s easy, but you are in complete control of what you decide to do. Your tip today for reaching your goal of long term weight loss is to create a flexible diet practice that you can adjust along the way and cater for special occasions. This will keep you empowered, in control, and ultimately leading to your best success With love Bryn #fatlosstips #goldsgymfremantle #fremantlegym #fremantlepersonaltrainer #fremantlepersonaltraining #weightlosstips #motivation #fatloss #diet #diettips See more

06.01.2022 As hard as it may be, getting started and working at your own pace towards your best life will never be an experience you'll look back on and regret. It's obviously quite the opposite. We've all heard that when we are in our later years it's not so much what we did in life that we regret, it's what we don't do, and a lot of us now in our lives can already see how true that is. If you have found lately that you are letting time slip away and you aren't becoming the be...st you you can be, resulting in you feeling lost, sad or lonely, I want to encourage you to ask a friend, a family member or a professional, because someone out there will LOVE to help you, feel privileged to help you and you will ALWAYS look back with the upmost respect for yourself that you chose to try again, and this will empower you to be the bad ass legend you already are :) @ Gold's Gym Fremantle See more

02.01.2022 Why do I do semi private training? Because I specialise in longterm, sustainable health & weightless transformations. Research, and my own experience shows the more support people have, and the more people that can relate to them, the better their results are going to be. It also gives my clients and I the time to regularly check in 1 to 1 to learn what specifically we need to work on outside of exercise to really get the results they deserve. This is the most important par...t of any long term weight loss transformation. The workouts I plan for my clients are scientifically proven to facilitate weight loss, improve fitness and build strength, which in turn fosters self confidence and empowerment. The power of semi private training comes from everyone in the group being their for similar, if not the same reasons, which reminds you, you are not alone, and helps to keep you motivated. We keep the workouts challenging, all while having a good time. To me exercise shouldn’t be this big chore that you dread each time. It should be fun, exciting, and testing. If you find it difficult to get into a regular routine with your own exercise, and want to hear how my coaching program can take you from where you are now and all the way to your ultimate goal, please send me a message and I will gift you a FREE 7 day trial with the goal to give you the strongest possible start. 02.01.2022 When you start your weight loss journey, you may find you are overly excited, feeling pumped and roaring to go! And so you should! You’ve a vision in mind of how life will be when you lose the excess weight, build strength within yourself and regain your confidence, and that is an exciting life! But all too often people take an all or nothing approach and make so many changes at once. This causes shock to their system, and then these positive changes inevitably become chores..., and who the heck enjoys chores? When you were a kid, were you first to put your hand up to wash the dishes? Help fold the washing? Mow the lawns? Probably not. If something feels like a chore, do you think you will sustain it for the rest of your life? Chances are likely not, so the key is to keep things simple, keep consistent, adjust things as you go and enjoy the journey! Most people you idolise for their physique will have processed foods from time to time , will only workout 0-2 times some weeks, they know exactly how to control their calories to work with them, not against them and they all have set backs along the way, but they don’t give up. All of this takes time to learn how to juggle, but if you have patients, get the right education and work on developing skills in these areas, you will consequently reach your weight loss goals, have the strong body you want, and feel the confidence you deserve. You’ll always feel regret if you don’t stick with it, and you will never stop thanking yourself for doing it if you stick at it What is 1 thing you can change in your routine today to take some stress off your system, reduce the shock its under and work on building to becoming a better version of yourself?
