25.01.2022 Small business is at the heart of community. They need our support now more than ever.

25.01.2022 Your images are as powerful as the words you use, so its important to think about the messages your brand is sending. For now its important to avoid visuals of crowds or people standing in close proximity. This includes people working in offices, having dinner, or even sightseeing. People need to feel safe and that they can trust you and your team are doing the right thing.... #bsocialperth #bsperth #socialmediamanager

24.01.2022 Are you an accommodation provider? Did you know that there has been no direction from the WA State Government for short stay accommodation to close, and the onus is on the guest making the booking to determine whether their booking is essential? While weekend breaks are not being encouraged right now, accommodation providers can join the fight against COVID19 by delivering self-isolation services for returning travellers who cant immediately return to the family home, offeri...ng a service for essential business travellers, or by providing accommodation for people seeking respite from difficult family situations. Any social media promotion of these services must be given careful consideration and the message for each post must be direct to avoid ambiguity. Need some help? PM me or send me an email on [email protected]. #bsocialperth #bsperth

23.01.2022 I wont deny it, I love a pint of beer!! Really looking forward to this event at Dingo Brewery, Brew on Premises Micro-Brewery formally U Brew It Midvale, #bsperth #bsocialperth #supportlocal

22.01.2022 Who ever thought it would be so exciting to go for a pint at the pub (with a meal of course) Roll on 18 May. #bsocialperth #bsperth #socialmediasupport

22.01.2022 How often do you post user-generated content? If you have a tourism or hospitality business, sharing your customers posts encourages your audience to continue tagging you into their posts, and sharing their own stories and experiences of your business, on an ongoing basis. #bsocialperth #bsperth

22.01.2022 Who else just LOVES a good laugh? Laughter really is the best medicine. Use your business page to make people laugh now and again. Posts that are humorous are more likely to be shared and to reach more people. Its not to say every post has to be funny, but its a good way to make people to connect with you.... Dont feel like laughing right now? Need help with your page? Send me a DM, I can help!

21.01.2022 Did you know, B Social Perth is a member of Mundaring Chamber Of Commerce and has a listing in the Perth Hills Business Directory? Its a fantastic resource if you are looking for a local business in the Perth Hills. #supportlocal #loveyourlocal #weirtogether

20.01.2022 More networking coming to the Hills. In my opinion, networking is about sharing, not selling. Its about forming trust, helping one another toward goals, building long-term relationships and a good reputation, over time. It involves meeting and getting to know people who you can assist, and who can potentially help you in return. See you there if you can make it!... Unlocking U - Morgan Holmes Colour me Kate

19.01.2022 If like me, youre an immigrant, you will understand that sometimes things happen that make you question your decision to move so far away from your family. For me, COVID-19 has presented one of those times and I find myself wandering around like a Looney Toons character with a little grey cloud hovering above my head. Its hard not to think back to February when I was only 24 hours away from my extended family, now I am possibly 12 to 18 months away from them.... While I dont regret my decision to move to Australia, and I try not to dwell on how much further away it has recently become, its there, that little cloud hovering just above me, a dull pain that intensifies now and again when I least expect it, sometimes at the most inappropriate time. So when I saw this quote, it made me smile and remember that no matter how far away I am from my parents, brothers, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, we are all under the same sky

19.01.2022 With Spring well and truly here, its time to give your socials a good Spring clean! The main thing is to dust off your social media strategy. Read, review, revise, reset! Whats working? Whats not? Whats taking up time that you dont need to do? What are you missing? Who are you connecting with? Who should you be connecting with?... .......Have you met your goals? Have they changed?....... Assess whats holding you back and make space for growth #socialmediamanager #bsocialperth

19.01.2022 Im going The Parkerville Tavern!! Cant wait to sample wine from these 2 awesome Perth Hills wineries and dont get me started on the cheese!

17.01.2022 Looking forward to tomorrow night and the chance to connect with other small business owners at the Chambers July Networking event. Being a member of a business association offers opportunities to build long-term relationships with other businesses, help one another towards goals and build your own reputation. If youre new to business I strongly recommend you do some research and join an association thats right for you. Your local Chamber is a great start.

17.01.2022 What a fantastic day at work, starting with a fabulous meeting with the Perth Hills Women in Business, then a working lunch with some more fab Perth Hills Women, and now finishing my working day at home, enjoying the beautiful weather . Thank you Colour me Kate and Unlocking U - Morgan Holmes for an excellent session, Wasteless Pantry, Buurman Finance Solutions, and Quickmail for your awesome answers in the Q&A, and to everyone who came along and made the meeting so inte...resting. #phwib Thanks also to The Parkerville Tavern for the delicious lunch and LYC Business Solutions for your fabulous company!

16.01.2022 Oh Facebook! You crack me up. How many more people are you saying I can I reach with your boost? Im quite happy with 18,000 already. If you dont ask you dont get though, right? Dont hit the blue button! Its not worth it.... #bsocialperth #bsperth #socialmediamanager

16.01.2022 Change is constant! In amongst the crazy COVID world of small business; the new procedures, the online meetings, the live events that were virtual for a while, the restrictions on numbers, signing in procedures, signing out procedures, sanitising routine..... how do you find time for your socials, to keep your customers up to date with whats happening? You dont need to find time, you just need to find a good social media manager.... #bsocialperth #bsperth

13.01.2022 Taps installed in time for summer! Looks like I will be making a trip to Dingo Brewery, Brew on Premises Micro-Brewery formally U Brew It Midvale, very soon #bsocialperth #homebrew #supportlocal

12.01.2022 Supporting our local businesses right now means they have a better chance of being able to come out of this crisis in one piece. Thanks Mundaring Chamber Of Commerce. Some great Mothers Day gift ideas here.

12.01.2022 Dont you just love it when you see a post that mentions one of your favourite local businesses? Or even better, your own business? It gives that warm, fuzzy feeling of happiness and pride. What makes it better still, is when its another local business paying homage to one of their fellow business operators. These kinds of posts trigger emotional involvement from their followers and compel people to respond.... You might ask why you would share information about other businesses? Well, it wouldnt be just any post, it should still be relevant to you - a complementary service, a post about the variety of things to do in your area/ nearby attractions. Sharing other business posts shows that you are connected. It shows that you love your community. It shows that you appreciate the other businesses that add to the heart and fabric of your community and help to make it the remarkable place it is. At the end of the day, these posts should all be part of your social media strategy. By sharing the occasional post that mentions other local businesses, you are also showing you are confident in your own skin and with your own offerings. #bsocialperth #bsperth #collaboration

12.01.2022 Happy Easter from B Social Perth! Hasnt it been a strange one this year? No family camping trips, or meeting friends and family at the local pub or cafe. But it has given us time to reflect on the things we are so used to enjoying, and will do again sometime in the future, if we can help our businesses survive.... After enjoying a takeaway lunch from a local business, we had drinks and home made cake at the fence at an appropriate physical distance from our neighbours, enjoying locally produced wine from Lion Mill Vineyards. Support local whenever you can. We need our businesses to make it out the other side in one piece so we can enjoy the good times again #bsperth #bsocialperth #supportingsmallbusiness

11.01.2022 Help a small business achieve greater reach on Facebook:

11.01.2022 Do you have a social media plan for reopening your business? If you havent thought about how you will communicate your reopening, here are a few ideas: Send out an email alert to your email list (if you have one).... Go live on Facebook and Instagram and tell people about your plans, in person (your followers love to see you). Create custom graphics for social media that you can edit accordingly. Update exterior signage outside your business and take photos for your socials. Put up balloons or markers outside your business (and get this photos to share). When you reopen, use your social media pages to let people know what to expect. No business will be operating exactly as they did pre COVID-19. Let your customers know new hours, new processes and what training your staff have undertaken. Give people an incentive to visit, rather than just reopening and waiting. Its not going to be easy, but well get there together. #bsperth #bsocialperth #inthistogether

11.01.2022 I am officially a Gin Connoisseur! (Well, OK, admittedly it was a fluke, but it sounds good). What a fantastic evening at The Parkys blind gin tasting night. It certainly was a lot of fun.

11.01.2022 When I saw this statement recently it made me stop, contemplate and reevaluate some of the work I am currently doing, and consequently adjust my direction. The thing is, if youre going to work for free, thats fabulous, as long as you set boundaries on how much work youll do, or how long you are prepared to work for free - and have a goal in sight. Put it this way, if you are still working for free after a year or two, you have a hobby, not a business.... So whenever you agree to volunteer your time, ask yourself what do you hope to gain from it? And have a clear goal in mind. #bsocialperth #bsperth #socialmediasupport

10.01.2022 The Odd One Out, Colchester - where my passion for small business started. Good luck with your re-opening. I hope it goes well.

09.01.2022 Thank you Mundaring Community Bank Branch

09.01.2022 Finally made my business cards. Only took me 1.5 years. Amazing what a stormy day can do! Oh, and a T-Shirt. ... Must be something in the air #bsperth #bsocialperth

09.01.2022 Anyone else having one of these nights or is it just me? #lookingforwardtofriday

08.01.2022 For the immediate future, our local tourism industry is hanging its hopes on intrastate visitors. Regardless of how successful the fight against COVID-19 is, I think we all realise that international travel will not be returning in the same form for some time. If our tourism and (to a lesser extent) hospitality businesses are to survive, they will have to rely on the intrastate market to keep them going.... This is actually not as bad as it sounds for the Perth Hills. In fact, it opens opportunities for some businesses. Our close proximity to the city, our natural attractions, fantastic trails, array of small, boutique eateries, soft adventure experiences and accommodation providers offer an attractive, accessible day trip or weekend break to people who are usually holidaying much further from home. Its time to start thinking about local visitors pain points. Visitors from your own State. What will they want? What will they be looking for? What will their needs be? How is your product or service of benefit to them and how will it meet their needs? Do some research, give it some thought, and plan your marketing accordingly. 07.01.2022 Exciting times for Perth Hills tourism and hospitality businesses

07.01.2022 Photos speak louder than words! Even though your business may be in hibernation, you may be taking online orders only, or you may be serving takeaway, dont stop those photos coming! Photos have a big impact on a persons imagination and emotion and create a sense of longing for your product or service.... #bsocialperth #bsperth #socialmediasupport

06.01.2022 If you are preparing to reopen or resume trading in your usual way in Phase 3, think about empathetically addressing your customers needs, in order for them to feel comfortable and trust your business. Dont just assume that because the government have lifted restrictions people will have confidence and will come back and eat at your restaurant, or drink in your coffee shop or bar. Some people are itching to get back to normal, others are anxious about mixing with the publi...c again and will need assurance from you that your business has adequate safety and hygiene measures in place, for their protection. Make sure you let people know what to expect, what safety measures you have in place, how your cleaning practices have changed, how you are offering contactless payments, how your product or services have changed, how bookings are made, limits on numbers of people in your establishment, etc. All of these points are important in establishing confidence, to enable your customers to do business with you again. #bsocialperth #bsperth #socialmediamanager

05.01.2022 How many mixed emotions does this news bring? And how can it make me feel fabulous and terrified in the same breath? Things will never be the same as they were pre-COVID19 and we are no where near out of the woods, but we can try our best to work together to minimise risk and keep our community as safe as possible, while supporting our local businesses and trying to regain some normality. Onwards and upwards WA! ... #bsocialperth #inthistogether

05.01.2022 So here is some winter spam and an example of why I love my job so much. I live in an amazing place that I get to promote and I work with some amazing businesses, both through B Social Perth and Mundaring Chamber Of Commerce.

04.01.2022 Is it time for another Espresso Quarantini yet? Thanks to The Parkerville Tavern, this little cocktail is now a fave #quarantini #parkypub

03.01.2022 Do you know why you have a business page on Facebook? Sometimes its good to just take a step back and ask yourself these questions: What is the aim of your Facebook Page? What objectives are you trying to achieve by using Facebook? What problem does Facebook solve, or benefit does it give to your business?... How does Facebook help you solve this problem, or benefit your business more than other channels of communication? Who are you hoping to reach/ do your customers hang out on Facebook? These questions should all be answered as part of your social media strategy and will help you determine whether a Facebook Page is necessary for your business. Its worth having a think about this. Its not enough to run a Facebook Page for the sake of it. #bsocialperth #bsperth #socialmediamanager

03.01.2022 Word! #chidlowtavern #christmasiscoming

03.01.2022 Life isnt about waiting for the storm to pass, its about learning to dance in the rain. (Vivian Greene). Dont stop your socials and simply wait for Storm Rona to pass. This is not the time to be quiet, this is the time to communicate with your customers, and social media is the perfect way to do it. You may not be able to schedule and plan exactly the way you did before, but you can still connect with your customers; be human, talk about whats happening and how everyone... is going and adapt your posts accordingly. Be active, be present, be social. #bsocialperth #bsperth #socialmediamanager

02.01.2022 Ive asked this question before, but its important to revisit it on a regular basis to make sure youre still on the right track: What is the why of your business? What is its purpose? Do you know why you do what you do? When you truly understand your why it gives you motivation and drive, which is communicated to your customers through your dedication, commitment and actions.... My why is simple: I want to help small business succeed. What is yours?

02.01.2022 Post Consistently Almost every single social media blog will tell you to post consistently, and I will say the same. You should schedule at least 4 posts a week on Facebook, leaving room for ad-hoc, spontaneous content.... And dont forget to interact with your followers. Posting and ghosting is not good practice on any platform. Engagement is key. Provide your customers the kind of service you would expect face to face. And of course, if you plan your posts in advance, you will feel fabulous and have time for long bike rides with a basket full of flowers.

02.01.2022 I had a great day out at The Parkerville Tavern today. Thanks to my fab friend Karen from LYC Business Solutions and the team at THE resources HUB for your awesome company (and for welcoming TWO Karens to your table)! Fantastic service and food from The Parky, great music from Broken Lines, and who knew we had so many talented dancers in our midst! #perthhills #bsocialperth #parkypub
