17.01.2022 Article on the rangers we assisted with some training in early November at Wadeye. Good luck you mob, see you after the wet for some helicopter incendiary training.

16.01.2022 I'm am so proud to read this email from one of the students from the course i delivered 2 weeks ago in Wadeye. The indigenous rangers throughout the top end of Australia do an amazing job to mitigate bushfires over such a massive landscape. We are privileged to play a small part to support them. Introductory Fire Training - Mariah Daly In November, Thamarrurr Rangers, Palumpa Fire Rangers, Nganambala Fire Rangers and Merrepen Fire Rangers got together to do Introductory Fire ...Training with Brett Stephens from SA Bushfires Solutions. We did the same training the next week at Woolianna with Rangers from Peppimenarti, Wudiculpildiyerr, Malak Malak and Thamarrurr. We do training so we rangers can go out and plan how to control fires, so that we have less wildfires. Big fires are bad for country makes a lot of smoke in the air and burns everything. Early controlled burning helps stop/reduce the big wildfires. THESE ARE SOME OF THE THINGS WE LEARNED ABOUT: - Prevent injury (safety, checking for risks and hazards) - Work in a team (communication, always work with a buddy and making a plan that everyone understands and follows) - Prepare, test and maintain response equipment (radio, pumps, rake-hoes, hoses, blower, we have enough water in tank, drip torch and car check) - Assist with prescribed burning (Safety, planning, knowing about fire behaviour, being in control) - Respond to wildfire (knowing what to do in an emergency) We need to do more training with the whole community to get people to understand about stopping bad wildfires.

15.01.2022 Very quiet lounge, more staff than guests. We are heading back north to Darwin for a few weeks to do some fire training with Indigenous ranger groups at Wadeye and Daly River.

09.01.2022 With a significant focus on Covid 19 and the very welcome recent rains it has been easy to forget about preparing for this fire danger season. The fire dange...r season starts from mid November in regional SA and December for the Mount Lofty Ranges. Last fire season was devastating for South Australia and the eastern states. Take advantage of every available opportunity now to prepare your property and family.

09.01.2022 Making them work hard in the hot humid conditions . Thamarrurr Rangers, Wadeye NT.

08.01.2022 Another successful and fun week training the Thamarrurr Rangers in fire . Thanks for sharing your knowledge and showing me your country.

03.01.2022 Thanks to all the farmers and their families who contribute so much to the firefighting effort every fire season throughout Australia. Always willing to help everyone where they can, however they can and barely ask for anything in return.

01.01.2022 SA Government response to the the recent Keelty review. This isn’t gonna happen overnight and don’t expect much to immediately change before this fire season, but it’s a welcome announcement to all involved in bushfire prevention, planning and response in SA.
