25.01.2022 Just serviced and fixed these beauties for "Diversity Charters". They certainly have had a hard life.

24.01.2022 Old Stella 20000FA, a bit overdue for a service.

24.01.2022 To older Saltiga overheads. Awesome bits of gear. When I got the call to service/repair these I was a bit worried what I was getting myself into. I was told they had had a really hard life and he was unsure if they where repairable. After cleaning the mullet guts ,salt and grime of them ,a couple of new bearings and a pinion gear for the 40 theyve come up like new, (bar a few war wounds on the body). Ready for another hard 10yrs

23.01.2022 A coupla Stellas to be serviced and the weathers coming good. Decisions, fishing or work!

23.01.2022 I havent posted any pics for a while because Ive just been flat out between servicing/repairing reels and charters. Thank you everyone that is waiting on their reels for being patient. Should have this lot finished in the next couple of weeks then Ill be ready for more.

23.01.2022 After a couple of weeks off it is time to get back to servicing a few reels. Started with a few Tiagras and Stellas, now a stack of baitcasters to keep me busy while the weather is good.

19.01.2022 A couple of Tiagra's serviced and ready to go for Will Roache for the up coming Australian Junior Billfish Tournament held by Exmouth Game Fishing club. If your interested in this Tournament check out the EGFC web site.

19.01.2022 Not really what you want the inside of your Tiagra 80w to look like

19.01.2022 Its been a while since Ive posted any reel pics, it got a bit crazy there for a while, I received 54 reels through the end of March into April, so Ive been a bit busy, hence no photos. Im down to the last few now. So if any one needs any reels fixed/serviced feel free to contact me. Cheers for all your support. Ben

18.01.2022 Just finished a drag upgrade, roller bearing change and service for "Peak Sport Fishing/Pelagic Hooker " for the up coming EGFC Billfish Bonanza. I wonder how many sails these reels will wind in over the comp?

18.01.2022 Received this awesome bonefish ink print today. About 6 years ago I got to spend a day on the flats in Exmouth chasing bonefish with Steve Tadesco, one didnt g...et to swim away and ended up as a marlin teaser. I heard Steve did a couple of prints of it before it was stitched up and here one is 6 years later. Cheers Steve ,bloody fantastic. See more

17.01.2022 A bit a variety to start the week with.

17.01.2022 I know I havnt posted any reel pics lately, Im still doing them, just been trying to get through them and not stopping to take pics. Heres a Certate that had seen a bit of saltwater.

15.01.2022 I would just like to thank everyone for their support for "liking & sharing" our page. We just ticked over 500 likes. "Fishing in the Pilbara" member Toby Mason was the 500th person to like our page. I would like to offer Toby a FREE service on a reel of his choice. Ill be in touch Toby.

15.01.2022 Awesome reel, Daiwa Saltiga S Extreme 600. Dont get to see to many of these around. I know this reel has had years of abuse and caught a hell of a lot of fish. A couple of new bearings and a thorough service and she come out like new.

14.01.2022 Awesome reel, Daiwa Saltiga S Extreme 600. Don't get to see to many of these around. I know this reel has had years of abuse and caught a hell of a lot of fish. A couple of new bearings and a thorough service and she come out like new.

14.01.2022 You cant put a square shaft in a round hole! this is what happens when you change your drag on the pre programme dial on a lever drag with the drag lever up.

14.01.2022 Just finished this Ryoga, nice bit of gear!

14.01.2022 A reel is not a winch! Main gear sheared in half and teeth stripped.

13.01.2022 This is why I always tell people to make sure they wash the salt off and around the reel foot on there Tiagras. The salt had just about eaten all the way through.

13.01.2022 The results of a nice GT on light spin. The teeth on the gears got a bit chewed up.

12.01.2022 The seasons must be changing! I was flat out with game reels and Stella/ Saltigas , now its all baitcasters. The Barra must be biting somewhere.

10.01.2022 Just finished this beautiful set of light Jig reels for "Fishing in the Pilbara" member John Robertson. All sorts of issues from lumpy drags to no free spool. All come out like new.

08.01.2022 1 down lots to go! One of the best baitcasters ever made, in my opinion.

07.01.2022 Theres a bit of a story that goes along with this Stella I recently serviced. A mate of mine, (well call him Matt) decided to put an extra rod out with a jig on it and leave it in the rod holder, he figured with the rocking action of the boat the jig would still be working. Id didnt take long and the rod in the holder hooked up unfortunately the rod holder wasnt very well secured and the whole lot fell in the water, Lost! About an hour later his mate got tangled in a bit of braid, they pulled the braid until the lost outfit appeared from the depths. Once onboard they started winding the line back on the reel and what happened to be on the other end attached to the jig? A bloody big Dhuie. Happy days. A thorough service and its good as gold

05.01.2022 The Stella salt trap! Check regularly Under the rear cover of a older Stellas particually the FAs. Got to this one before the corrosion was to bad

05.01.2022 This pair are all serviced and ready to be sent back to South Australia

05.01.2022 Love the Talica 50, absolute weapons! Just serviced this one for Eddy/Peak Sportfishing after their trip to Cape Verde, making sure shes already to tackle Exmouth Blue Marlin, which should be making an appearance very soon.

04.01.2022 Needed a bit of a break from fixn reels so Bear and I went and "popped" a dozen whiting for dinner. Mmm tempura whiting.

03.01.2022 YEP! Share if you agree with us?! #shimano #fishing

03.01.2022 Saltiga Game 3500 one of the best small/medium spin reels ever made (my opinion). Shame there no longer available. A sequence of shots showing one going back together. Pretty boring really.

03.01.2022 Something a bit different this morning, fixing this Ross F1 fly reel for Al Donald from Fly Fishing Frontiers. The service I received from Ross Reels in the USA was exceptional. They certainly make a beautiful reel.

02.01.2022 Beach fishing with baitcasters on a windy day is not a good idea!. This poor chronarch was full of sand.

01.01.2022 Who remembers these old work horses. One is the original Japanese made and the other is a newer one made in Thailand. Agricultural but indestructible.

01.01.2022 Apparently this reel had recently been serviced, now pulling the side plate off and slapping some red automotive trailer bearing grease in a reel is not my idea of servicing a reel. Rant over. #IHateRedGrease!

01.01.2022 First 3 for the morning. Typical Avet, bearing change, lumpy drag and general service. TLDs - pinion bearings and service. Now to finish a couple of Tiagras from Rocky at Christmas Island.

01.01.2022 A couple of Tiagras serviced and ready to go for Will Roache for the up coming Australian Junior Billfish Tournament held by Exmouth Game Fishing club. If your interested in this Tournament check out the EGFC web site.
