14.01.2022 Last night an old and dear friend called me to check in and say hello! We rarely get to spend time together these days as we live in different states and have d...one so for years. But this is the true measure of a true friend. Those people who know instinctually when you need to hear a friendly voice. That comfort in the dark. That whisper on the wind that calls your heart back to you. Her call was timely and filled my soul with joy. A renewed sense of being. Hope for the days ahead. I can not thank this friend enough - you know who you are. Out of the blue in my darkest hours you appeared from nowhere. So my message today is simply this. Now is the time for us to listen to others. Now is the time to reach out and be that whisper on the wind for a friend. It is amazing how a simple phone call and the voice of a friend can breathe life back into a soul that feels crushed and beaten. Now is the time for us to all rekindle our humanity. Rekindle our ability to nurture those around us. Now is the time - more than ever - to look out for our loved ones and reach into their pain like a flower tilting toward the sun. The smallest gesture can make the biggest difference. How do I know this? Because I was on the receiving end of this care and nurturing last night. Equally - if you need to feel that care - phone someone. It is amazing how the vibration of another human beings voice can create such immense healing! Today - I join my friend in gratitude! And I thank her for making that call! She will never know how timely and meaningful that call was to me. We all have a light to shine right now. This is our moment to dig deep and shine that light for those around us who have momentarily lost their shimmer! And then in another moment the roles will be reversed and the torch bearers will change. This is the time we are in I feel. A true time of coming together. When one of us falters the others will have our hearts in their hands and shine on for us lifting us up and lighting the way. We all need to appreciate that sometimes we may be the torch carrier bringing light and sometimes we may fall into the shadowlands allowing others to carry the torch. And that’s ok. Through the light and the dark and the ups and the downs we shall make it through. Together. For one thing no one and no thing can ever take away from us is our indomitable human spirit. The thing that defines us as humans. That unquantifiable thing that joins us on our journey forward. May our lights dim and may our lights shine together as one.
