23.01.2022 This morning we attended a safety check for a customer who had previously had their restraint installed by another professional, unfortunately even though she questioned the install at the time, she was assured it was correct. This was not the case, unfortunately sometimes (although well intentioned) they get it wrong. This is why we offer our safety check service, so that you can be certain that your child (not just baby) is in the safest possible position should an acciden...t happen. We have zero issue with congratulating those who have done it correctly, and will gladly educate (not belittle) those who didn't get it quite right. For us this isn't just a business, child restraint safety is our passion. It is important and it does save lives. You can have the most expensive restraint with all the safety features in the world but if it isn't installed correctly, if it isn't used correctly than it will not be effective! We offer FREE safety checks every day of the week, because every single restraint we check and correct means there's another child driving around in the best possible position. 16.01.2022 Absolutely love this post from my good friend Luke.

14.01.2022 One of the main sources of confusion in car seats is the expiration date. Many people don’t even realize that they CAN expire. In Australia the recommended expiration date for use of a car seat is 10 years. Over the next few days let's look at WHY car seats expire; Car seats are made primarily of two materials: plastics and impact foams. The number one reason car seats are meant to be disposed of after 10 years is that those plastics and foams age and degrade especially wit...h repeated and prolonged exposure to UV rays, extreme heat, extreme cold, etc. Over time that degradation can make those plastics and foams extremely brittle and can limit their ability to withstand a crash safely. Think about the pegs you use for washing. If they are left outside for long periods, chances are they are extremely brittle. Or an old foam pillow that you’ve had for 10 years. Is it as squishy and boucy as it once was? Probably not. The same goes for the materials in a car seat. And brittle materials that can’t take an impact are NOT the thing you wanna depend on the safety of your child for. It’s very tempting to say it’s really not that big a deal, it’s not milk it can’t REALLY expire, when faced with the expense of buying a new seat, when you are looking at what feels like a perfectly good seat. But you have to ask yourself Is it worth the risk? And yes technically it is legal to use a seat as long as it meets the standards. However, legal and recommended are not the same. And as we know, when it comes to car seat safety the law is honestly usually the bare minimum of safety not really the message we should be following as parents. What’s the very least I can do to keep my kid safe? is hopefully not a question any of us are asking ourselves. So I have a car seat how do I know if it’s expired? On the back or bottom of the seat there will be a set of small plastic circles (aka dials) they will each have a mark indicating what year the seat was made in. Once I confirm that the seat is expired what now? Can I donate it? Nope. If it’s expired for you it’s just as expired for anyone else, if you wouldn’t put your kids in it please don’t let someone else do so either. See more

13.01.2022 Do you know what best practice is? Best practice is using each stage of child restraint for as long as possible. For example: Keeping your child rear facing t...ill they reach the 2nd shoulder height marker regardless of their age. Keeping your child harnessed when forward facing for as long as possible regardless of age. There are many restraints now that will allow a large child to be harnessed till 8 years of age and a smaller child for much longer. Or keeping them in a booster for as long as possible. It is recommended to keep children in child restraints till they are either 12 years of age or 1.45m. There's an industry saying that goes: "A step up in restraints is a step down in safety " . Correct and tight is always right.

You've literally got nothing to lose in getting a second opinion on your restraint whether you've fitted it yourself or had someone else do it for you. Get in touch with us today. *Call out fee will apply to some suburbs* *If we detect any issues with the restraint during the check you will be given the opportunity to correct it yourself or if you wish for us to correct the install an installation fee does apply*
