25.01.2022 We are extremely excited to have finally got our hands on some decent Heritage clearwings!! These birds are descended from bloodlines established by Don Burke... Can't wait to get them into the breeding cages!

24.01.2022 "Gunpowder" is the last of our handraised babies left! Such a beautiful boy STATS Grey normal... Suspect violet dark factor as well. Out of a show pair, grey spangle hen and violet mauve normal cock, "Acacia" and "Oleg".... Club rung. Handraised from 2 weeks old, on Roudybush/Vetafarm Neocare. Fully weaned now, onto quality seed mix and fresh veg mix. Beautiful friendly nature, and he's a nice big showbaby too! PH. 0428 897 207 for more info.

24.01.2022 Love having birds but not interested in breeding?? Have you considered having a "retirement home" aviary??? Most breeders "retire" their birds from breeding at around 4 years old, or earlier if issues crop up (bad parenting skills, infertile, etc). Although no longer suitable to breed, these birds still have plenty of life in them, and often are moved on quite "cheep"ly! It's an affordable option, and you will be giving some birdies a well earned retirement!... Sidenote.... these photos are some retirees waiting for a spot at a retirement home

20.01.2022 Having a fun time handraising these little troublemakers... Second lot of handraised ones for the season grr. For those not familiar with our aviary, we only handraise chicks when absolutely necessary; this year we've had a lot of trouble with hens (and sometimes cocks too) plucking their chicks and refusing to feed... Foster nests have filled up too quickly and we've ended up having to handraise a few. These guys are Gunpowder, Silver, Blue, and Titch

(Last year I only handraised one batch for the whole season) Honestly can't wait for this season to be done... It's been a rough year!

08.01.2022 This little girl is something you don't see everyday!! We found her in a fellow breeder's aviary, and just had to bring her home!! She is a Halfsider, the common name for a budgie with Tetragenic Chimaerism... A rare phenomenon when an organism forms with two different sets of DNA, instead of the usual one set. This can occur in any species of animal, and is essentially a case of non-identical twins fusing in the womb (or egg!) to form one complete creature. This little girl ...is a great example of a Halfsider because you can clearly see the two different genetic mutations on her... One side is opaline cinnamon, and the other side is recessive pied! Also the vertical line straight up her belly, dividing the two halves, is a dead giveaway too haha Hope you enjoy our little freakbaby!!

He is also split for German fallow... sadly I do not wish to add more green to my fallows, so he must make his home elsewhere. As with all our babies, handled since birth, and has a lovely nature

06.01.2022 Greywings... A lovely variety consisting of 1/2-full intensity body colour, and solid grey wings in varying shades. This hen is a violet green, a colour that in my opinion is vastly under-appreciated! Violet greens have a depth of colour not seen in regular greens.... Just beautiful!

05.01.2022 Beautiful "Velocoraptor" is ready for her new home! Handraised from 2 weeks old, with heavy involvement from the kids (they did a lot of the feeding, with supervision from mum). DNA tested female. Whiteface normal, split for pied. Velocoraptor is currently fully flighted, a beautiful flier, currently working on sticking her landings. Wings can be clipped if required by her new family.... She is an absolute sweetheart, loves to land on your head and so happy to hang out on your shoulder.
