25.01.2022 This old chimney has had one to many Santa’s squeezing down it. It’s going to take quite the rebuild, but it’s so important to conserve the original details of historic homes, rather than remove them or knock it down. The moulds serve an important water protection/smoke draft creation purpose & also look pretty beautiful. We can rebuild it..

24.01.2022 Ist coat of oil by Major the site dog. He seems happy albeit slightly slippery. Superb Jarrah timber, 3 x coats of Organ Oil with end grain protection utilising bituminous paint. Brick walls rebuilt with Lime mortar by fabulous local bickie Marcus Houston.

23.01.2022 Major the site dog preparing to work on Market Building door number 18 of 22.

23.01.2022 Bendigo Cemetery Chimneys re-instatement x 5. The top of the chimneys required extensive rebuilding & in order for Santa to safely access this christmas, they required the brick work to be repointed in lime mortar, rendered in composite mortar & the hood moulds rerun. A terrific outcome & should last another 150 years.

23.01.2022 Tiger is starting to come together. Love a boat that has an air speed gauge that goes to 140mph..

20.01.2022 Build Conserve is thrilled to have been appointed to complete Conservation & Restoration works to this wonderful building. It's future use will be for community groups & will be a great, compact space for those seeking a facility of this size.

19.01.2022 So excited that Build Conserve has been appointed for the restoration of the timber hulled Hydroplane boat named ‘Tiger', raced by the Nankervis brothers from Eppalock. The boat raced in many prestigious races across Australia, and set an Australasian water speed record of 138.08mph in 1967. It is to be returned to full operational race condition, with a 327 Chevrolet fuel injected engine as per original specifications. An amazing piece of history that's been in a shed for 30 years!

17.01.2022 A beautiful space & building.. Thanks to Felix Cappy & many others for saving it some years ago now.

15.01.2022 Build Conserve has been appointed for the conservation & restoration of The Market Building Castlemaine' historic doors-all 22! Such a beautiful & iconic Castlemaine landmark & excited to contribute to its conservation.

15.01.2022 In the beginning..., these chimney moulds/cornice have lasted 140+ years on the old Police Residence in Fyerstown with the chimney itself not far off collapse. Repointed in lime mortar, then moulds run in composite render, as per original. So pleased we were able to conserve them & not see it torn down, like so many have been in the past.

14.01.2022 Tuck pointing boys, smashing it to Baker Boy & Kian from Archie’s playlist. Work early, cool pool later..

08.01.2022 The brickwork has been rebuilt with lime, jarrah floor in place, finally the handrail & balusters. The timber friezes are leftovers from the original verandah detail along the top pitching beam. We made a couple more to match with 120 year old timber, as you can’t get the same thickness today. The owners are once again enjoying their cups of tea reclining in the sun (or shade now!).

05.01.2022 QEO Grandstand Bendigo- Such a wonderful project to complete with a couple of talented lads. Well done Shifty & Fifty!

02.01.2022 Laying recycled Baltic boards today from The Salvage Yard. They have great quality timber, well organised & it's easy to choose what you need. Find them next door to Tonks Trade Centre.

01.01.2022 Reinstating the verandah of this beautiful home with magnificent blood red jarrah & pure organ oil. The timbers beauty & durability, stunning.
