25.01.2022 One of the gorgeous rescue dogs that we have had the pleasure of working with

23.01.2022 Here’s a reality check for all the people out there that think they have friendly dogs that they allow off lead to rush other people’s dogs. Your dogs are not in fact friendly. They are rude, poorly trained dogs, owned by rude, bad mannered people. This morning when out working with the 2 rescue dogs in this video, we encountered one of those owners with her friendly dogs. In spite of being asked not to allow her dogs to run up to ours she still allowed her dogs to do... so. The big dog in the video was so scared she was cowering and wetting herself out of fear. The smaller dog was reactive purely out of fear and with no option of flight tried to come out fighting. We managed the situation as the owner had no control at all and was unable to get her dogs back. The reality of what occurred today was 2 sweet dogs that were on lead, under effective control were terrorised by 2 dogs that are not friendly just poorly trained dogs with bad manners owned by an arrogant owner. Her dogs may have been having a great time bullying our dogs but that is not okay. Please people with friendly dogs think long and hard about how you are actually allowing your dogs to behave and the consequences of their actions on other dogs.

23.01.2022 So many dogs now have Luxating Patellas, Hip issues, Spines out of Alignment and etc...yet we still persist in asking them to sit multiple times (especially during formal training sessions) putting pressure on already sensitive areas. Even when they are clearly communicating that it is uncomfortable for them to do so. Watch for the position your dog is most comfortable in and make that your default.

21.01.2022 This is so true.

19.01.2022 I wish everyone that gets a pup could grasp this concept.

17.01.2022 Rocko has been adopted. This sweet little boy had a hard life for one so young. His Rehoming was always going to be tricky. But with a hard working dedicated fo...ster carer and a skilled trainer, Rocko found the right home. Thank you Akane for caring for him and thank you trainer Helen Andrews from Building Better Dogs and Hanrob Pet Hotels for changing his life See more

17.01.2022 How it should be.

10.01.2022 Having a happy, well behaved dog means commitment and the willingness to work through any problems as they arise. No amount of money or trainers can achieve that without effort on your behalf.

10.01.2022 In house with us for rehabilitation and training, 12 month old Benny is one of notorious puppy farmers Colin Ross and Kerrie Fitzpatrick’s victims. This little guy has no life experience at all and is going to need a lot of work and guidance to become the best dog that he can possibly be. Lucky for Benny, Best Friends Rescue heard of his plight, went to his rescue and are committed to doing what ever needs to be done to help him, hence him being with us. Thank you Best Friends Rescue for being there for this gorgeous boy

07.01.2022 This is a long read, but definitely worth doing so to the end.

06.01.2022 This should always be the default for family pets.
