14.01.2022 Breaking news: NSW has reported 13 new cases and Sydney residents have been "strongly encouraged" to wear face masks. HNE Health is advising residents to avoid ...travelling to Sydney where possible. Public Health Physician Professor David Durrheim said the Sydney outbreaks are concerning. "We would strongly advise anybody from the Hunter New England region to rather stay at home than visiting Sydney at this stage unless absolutely necessary. 03.01.2022 Upgrades to BASIX As part of our continual improvement process for BASIX, we are making further updates to BASIX on 27 November 2020.... Some of the main changes include: allowing a user to model ceiling fans in either the thermal comfort section (similar to other states), or the energy section (as BASIX currently requires); incorporating regenerative drive technology for lifts into the BASIX Tool; recognising the Passive House standard as a pathway for meeting the BASIX thermal comfort requirements; and aligning the BASIX thermal comfort modelling requirements for adjacent zones in apartment buildings with the NatHERS requirements. These updates will provide benefits to users by: incorporating innovations in more sustainable technologies into the BASIX Tool; providing greater flexibility by recognising another sustainable building design standard; and better aligning some of the BASIX requirements with those that apply in other states. To make these updates, the BASIX Tool will be unavailable between 9pm and midnight on 26 November. We will provide full details of the changes when they go ‘live’ on 27 November.
