An all-women team has completed the perimeter fencing for the development. ... Projects like this are inspiring young QBuild apprentices like Casey to pick up the tools! The atmosphere here is very different and exciting to be a part of. It’s interesting jobs like this that caught my eye when choosing my trade. A qualified carpenter since he left school, Kim has spent the past four years working as a Foreperson for QBuild. He’s worked at the Woodford Correctional Centre and is currently managing the construction of a new Cannon Hill social housing development which includes 20 one-bedroom units. ... An interesting aspect of this build, he says, is the post tensioning technique used to reinforce the concrete instead of the practice of steel reinforcing used for a conventional slab.
