23.01.2022 ATTENTION YEAR SIX PARENTS AND CARERS Thank you for your patience and understanding with the recent cancellation of the Year 6 camp to Sunshine Coast Recreation Centre at Currimundi. Over the past week we have been in close contact with the centre and we are excited to advise that we have been able to secure a booking for next Wednesday 9 September Friday 11 September at the Gold Coast Recreation Centre at Tallebudgera. This centre is run by the same company as the Sunshin...e Coast Recreation Centre. We appreciate that this is very short notice, however, we are not confident that another opportunity will arise for camp next term. We were only advised of this possibility late Wednesday afternoon and appreciated the importance of communicating the news swiftly. We would like to thank the teachers who have modified their family arrangements to accommodate this change. At this time we do not believe that there will be any additional equipment required. We are still liaising with the centre to confirm this. Should there be any additional requirements we will advise as soon as possible. We are really excited that our students do have an opportunity to attend camp after all. Should you have any questions, please contact your childs class teacher.

22.01.2022 And theyre off!!!! This morning, we waved goodbye to our Year 6 teachers and students as they boarded the bus that was to take them to the Gold Coast for their camp. The excitement was palpable as they chattered about the activities, food and fun that was awaiting them. Have a great time, everyone!!!

Time/Transport: Students are to sign in at the Performing Arts Centre from 8.45am. Activities conclude at 2:30pm, whereby students may be collected from outside the Performing Arts Centre. What to bring: - Students must wear full school uniform and enclosed shoes. - Students must bring their own lunch and a water bottle as tuckshop will not be available on the day. - Students must bring some sort of writing utensils all other resources that are required will be provided to students. *Please note that this Orientation Day is only for students already enrolled

16.01.2022 We are so proud of the way our students have settled into Term 4 after the school holidays. Our classrooms are busy hives of activity, with staff engaging students in their new units of work. Following a review of our PBL processes, our PBL focus this week is, ‘We FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS when we follow the PBL processes in the classroom and playground’. Our processes provide staff and students with clarity and consistency around the support they will receive to follow our school expectations.

This means that a student’s work will be graded in the same way, regardless of whose class they are in. Just like their students, our teachers are continually learning and collaborating! 12.01.2022 ATTENTION YEAR 6 PARENTS! We're finally able to share our graduation plans! We know how important it is for parents and carers to share this special time with their child. Therefore, we'll be holding three separate ceremonies in order for two adults to be able to attend with each child. A letter will be sent home this afternoon with further information and for families to order their two tickets.

10.01.2022 FRIDAY AFTERNOON COLLECTION - 11 SEPTEMBER The Year 6 camp bus will be returning to Wickham Street on Friday afternoon using the drop off zone. To ease congestion at this time, the bottom gate will be open and all students in younger grades will exit from that gate. 06.01.2022 Next term, during Weeks 2-6, all students will be offered the opportunity to participate in a Water Safety program. This will be held at the Bundamba Swim Centre and taught by their instructors. Students will be supervised by a classroom teacher. This week, your child will bring home a letter giving you more details about the program and an invoice to cover the cost of this program. ($6 x 5 lessons = $30)

04.01.2022 This week, our students have engaged in a range of Harmony Week and National Day of Action against Bullying and Violence activities. Our seniors created posters (check them out!) and supported younger students to be part of a whole school ‘We Belong at BSS’ project. Students have written down what it means to them to be part of our school community, and joined them all together. We’d planned to display these messages along the main path, but with the wet weather, moved them to the library. Take a look! At BSS we all belong.
