23.01.2022 Finally the girls are starting to really get going. I think Ill be harvesting at least some honey in early March.

22.01.2022 A slow start to the season. Not sure why the girls are not producing a lot yet. Time will tell.

18.01.2022 The 2012/ 2013 crop is in. The girls produced 25lt of honey so far. Not sure if they will be willing to give up any more this year. They may need it over winter.

17.01.2022 A swarm descended on Bundanoon Primary School today. Its the first time they have gone into a 'non-drill' full lockdown. The swarm was a good size and is now busy cleaning house and moving into a new hive and getting to know the neighbours. Welcome to the team ladies.

13.01.2022 Bundanoon Bush Honey is back on the shelves at Bundanoon Supermarket! The girls are getting busy and we should be able to keep stock on the shelves well into the middle of next year.

11.01.2022 Spring has finally come to the Highlands and the bees have started to work! With 25kg extracted yesterday and easily as much again in a fortnight, we are finally back in stock. Not sure what got the girls working again but some of the honey extracted has been a wonderful pale yellow colour with a great taste.

06.01.2022 Arrggg....rookie mistake: I assumed the specific gravity of honey would be about 10% over water. Ordered 500ml jars and made 500gm labels. Turns out the SG of honey is 1.425! I should have got 380ml jars. The 500ml jars are about 10mm empty at the top. :-(

05.01.2022 Following a nasty sting to the head (and the resultant duck lips and Quasimodo forehead) my dear wife insisted on a new bee suit. The Ultrabreeze suits are fantastic. Shows what a bit of thought and R&D can come up with.

02.01.2022 First batch from this season is ready to go. Not all the hives are going equally well, but one is going very well and contributed to most of this batch. Hopefully I'll rob again around the end of January. Despite the large jars (d'oh!) if anybody would like some, let me know.
