Apart they don’t really make sense, but together they are very powerful. Or if you want the philosophy: It is a concept in holism. Related to the idea that the total effectiveness of a group of things each interacting with one another is different or greater than their effectiveness when a...cting in isolation from one another. 1+1=3 is simpler and a classic style still worth striving for.
