17.01.2022 We asked a near impossible question as a poll a few weeks back, here are the results. Pretty much equal!

16.01.2022 Have you heard of Echidna Chasm? It's a spectacular narrow gorge within the Purnululu National Park. The steep-sided walls are up to 200 metres high and in some places, are no more than 2 shoulder-width apart! The chasm has striking colour variations, depending on the angle of the sun beaming down and towering palm trees line the chasm walls.... You can hike to Echidna Chasm on one of our guided walks, such as the Cathedral Gorge, the Domes and Echidna Chasm Walk. We are taking bookings for the 2021 season. Visit our website to learn more! https://www.bunglebungleguidedtours.com.au/ - Taryn Yeates Photography

13.01.2022 Important Announcement - Tourism Services We are devastated to be delivering this news to you, although with our community in mind and as a result of the curren...t COVID-19 pandemic, we are following the advice of the Australian Government and World Health Organisation, deciding that the Kimberley Experiences Group will be ceasing all non-essential flying as well as all tourism services until further notice. This includes tourism services provided by Aviair, HeliSpirit, Bungle Bungle Guided Tours and the Bungle Bungle Savannah Lodge. This certainly was not an easy decision for us, although as we live and operate in the region, we feel a strong sense of social responsibility to not only keep our guests and employees safe, but also to protect our broader Kimberley community. Freshwater East Kimberley Apartments will continue to operate and we have implemented stringent sanitisation procedures to ensure the safety of our staff and guests. Whether it is accommodation for those required to travel to the region, or for those that may require a place to self-isolate after crossing the Kimberley border, our self-catering facilities in 1, 2 and 3 bedroom apartments provide a great solution for all. We will also be offering a grocery and laundry delivery service to those who are in self-isolation to help ease the current pressures. These are unprecedented times for all of us and we understand the hardship that COVID-19 will cause us all. It is with great sadness that we have had to let many of our valued staff go as we respond to this everchanging and challenging situation. For now, we are currently focusing our efforts on how we can best support essential services throughout the Kimberley and Pilbara regions. For those travellers who were planning to visit our region in 2020, we hope you are able to postpone your travel and plan to join us for a bigger and better season in 2021 or as soon as we can open our magnificent Kimberley region again. All current bookings are fully transferrable for next season, and we have committed to honouring current rates for these existing bookings if you elect to postpone. Our reservations team are working through current bookings and will contact you in due course. We appreciate your support and understanding. Please continue to stay safe and we look forward to seeing you back in the Kimberley as soon as it becomes possible. Kind regards, Michael & Kate McConachy and the broader Kimberley Experiences Team

12.01.2022 We are at the Mandurah Boat, Caravan, 4WD & Camping Show this weekend. Pop in and say hi to Jodie at the Kimberley Experiences booth, if you are there, to discuss you next trip to the Kimberley. Right next door to The Golden Ouback

09.01.2022 Little cutie at Garma Festival 2019. (Which is held 40km on a dusty unsealed road from the township of Nhulunbuy, in the Northern Territory.) "Each year an estimated 2500 visitors gather and camp at Gulkula, a traditional ceremonial meeting ground, historically significant to the Yolngu people of the north east Arnhem Land. Here, guests from all persuasions gather to experience 4 days of the Garma Festival, Australia’s largest indigenous led, indigenous programmed cultural exchange."

09.01.2022 Scientific Facts Friday! "Twenty million years of weathering have produced the eroded sandstone towers and banded beehive structures of the Bungle Bungle Range. The sandstone karst of Purnululu is of great scientific importance in demonstrating so clearly the process of cone karst formation on sandstone a phenomenon only recognised by geomorphologists over the past 25 years and still not completely understood. ... While sandstone towers and cliffs are known from other parts of the world, including some regions in Australia, the spectacular features of the Bungle Bungle Range are unrivalled in their scale, extend, grandeur and diversity of forms." Aside from the phenomena that is the Bungle Bungle Range, this area holds great cultural significance to the Kija and Jaru people. It's easy to see why Purnululu National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
