13.01.2022 On Friday I was invited to speak to Burnside State High School students about renting after school including tips for a successful application and how to be the... best possible tenant to set yourself up with positive rental history. Although public speaking isn’t my jam it surprised me how comfortable I was chatting with the teens and enjoyed some great questions from some curious students. Thank you Mrs Jackson for inviting me to speak to your students! If you have a first time renter in your life that needs some solid advice, please feel free to send them my contact details I’d be more than happy to chat and offer my top tips. Video on this topic to come! See more

10.01.2022 2020 has been a challenging year for us all and circumstances have made it even more important for us to reach out and stay connected and, for those who are able, willing to support those around us. The Certificate III Business students have been busy organising a series of activities for both staff and students as part of their major projects which focused on team work and supporting the R U OK initiative. Let’s be reminded to check in on each other, each and every day. A conversation can change a life.

01.01.2022 Last weekend, eight students from the Burnside State High School Rotary Interact Club, had the honour of attending a conference in Caboolture. The day had many new learning experiences for everyone, from learning what Rotary is all about and their core values, to how every single person can help make a difference in someone else’s life. We also got to watch presentations from other school Interact clubs, and gather fundraising and charity ideas for the year ahead. There were ...stalls set up, where there were countless demonstrations of charities that help people from all across the world. Our club also had the opportunity to donate a box full of learning utensils; from books to glue sticks and pencils, which is going to go to children in Papa New Guinea. We then split up into our school groups, and did some fun team building activities to help us connect and communicate better within our club. Overall, this day was a fantastic learning experience for us all, we not only learnt more about what Rotary does, but how we can all make a difference is someone else’s life, no matter how small or big.
