16.01.2022 TOP DAY IN THE TOP END Today we had the chance to stop and thank our volunteers of the Top End. It’s been a long year and they have worked hard. It was a top day with celebrations including certificates of appreciations, certificates of excellence, NSW Premier’s citations for those staff and volunteers deployed to NSW, volunteers long & meritorious service medals and birthday cheers for two of our beloved volunteer leaders. ... Volunteers Long & Meritorious Service Medals were proudly presented to Darwin River members Brett Shuker, Lee Shuker, Jason Shuker and Brian Ballinger. Thank you each of you for the years of service. Your contribution and support has gone a long way. We would like to thank our volunteers for sharing their time with us today and all our volunteers for their ongoing support. It was wonderful to see everyone in good spirits and celebrating the end of another busy fire season. We hope all our volunteers get a chance to rest and everyone has a wonderful, merry and safe Christmas. Thank you all

15.01.2022 Do you use the NT Fire Incident Map? The NT Fire Incident Map is a great information tool that shows current incidents and the latest warning messages including fires incidents. We are excited to announce that Bushfires NT Planned Burn Advice will now be shown on the NT Fire Incident Map with its own purple icon. ... If we are conducting a burn on our programmed burn schedule, we will use the Planned Burn Advice to let you know when and where the operation is being conducted. Keep an eye out for it and let us know what you think.

07.01.2022 Another exciting addition to the NT Fire Incident Map is the introduction of bushfire perimeters for our emergency warnings. Fire perimeters are based on information received both from firefighters on the ground and from aerial observers. The perimeter is our best estimate of the known extent of the fire. If sufficient data is not available, no fire perimeter will be displayed. ... This means, you will mainly see this level of detail in your warning messages during the fire season when there is a Fire Ban Day.

02.01.2022 APPRECIATION IN THE ALICE Wednesday night Bushfires NT recognised and celebrated our wonderful volunteers of Central Australia for their dedicated work throughout 2020, assistance interstate and meritorious service. The Central Australian 2020/2021 fire season is about to begin with hopes it will be a quieter one than that of the the Top End.... On behalf of the NSW Premier Simon Casey, Ryan Casey, Blake Debney, Mitchell Uzzell and Jacob Skipsy were recognised for their contribution and service to the NSW 2019-2020 emergency response. Well done guys, you did us proud! Volunteer Long & Meritorious Service medals were proudly presented to Mitchell Uzzell and Amanda Houston. Mitchell has been a volunteer with the brigade since 2011, Committee Member for the past 5 years and recently stepped up as Public Officer. Mitchell is always willing to promote the brigade and encourage new members, assist in training and this year provided much needed fire fighting assistance in the Top End and interstate. His commitment to his community and genuine kind nature is a pleasure to work with. Thank you Mitchell. Amanda has been the backbone of the brigade serving as Treasurer and Secretary for the majority of her time, often juggling both roles. Her caring and passionate nature has significantly influenced the strength of the brigade and their ability to retain members. Amanda’s management support, time and effort has been invaluable and her mothering nature has earnt her the title of 'mum'. Thank you 'Mum' for your all your support.
