Don’t miss this opportunity Our floor plan is filling up very quickly, as everyone is taking advantage of this opportunity to connect with students and potential job seekers in our region. Our students said that they don’t want virtual expos they want real ones and we listened!... This event is also open to the public therefore it will attract interest from those in Far North Qld who have lost their jobs as a result of CODIV-19 and are looking to upskill. 20.01.2022 Call-out to Visual Art and Media teachers of Year 10, 11 and 12 students!! The Business Liaison Association Inc, in conjunction with the Cairns Show Associati...on, once again offers the Cairns Show Association "Billboard Competition" to years 10, 11 and 12 Visual Art and Media students in FNQ. The competition is offering students the opportunity to have their original artwork displayed on a 4m x 12m billboard located at the Scott Street entrance at the Cairns Show Grounds. Students may enter their work in the following 4 categories Original Artwork - Canvas or Paper Original Digital Photograph Original Indigenous Artwork - Canvas, Paper or Digital Photograph Original Media Image promoting the Cairns Show Teachers are encouraged to consider artworks currently being made by students in Visual Art, Visual Arts in Practice, Media Arts in Practice and Arts in Practice. Teachers are also encouraged to consider year 10 students making artworks in Visual Art and Media. Applications close Friday August 21st. 20.01.2022 This week the BLA family was proud to present headspace Cairns with a cheque for the proceeds of raffles held at our Awards Night. The service that headspace provides for the youth of Cairns is vital and the BLA is happy to be able to assist. 05.01.2022 Last week students from St Andrew's Catholic College and Mareeba State High School visited Norweld. Norweld's Mark Law guided students through the well-developed site of aluminium canopy and vehicle tray building. Students were able to see application of autocad drawings, cnc milling, hydraulic folding, tig welding, auto electrical and assembly. Thank you Norweld for taking the time to provide students with an insight into the requirements of working in the industry for a multinational company.

The Expo provides students with the opportunity to connect with our exhibitor's face to face rather than just online, have all their questions answered on the spot and discover what is trending in 2020.
