25.01.2022 Keep ticking things off the list

24.01.2022 Back on track next weekend for the last round of RX8 Cup 2020. First steer since round 1 back in February due to covid and travel restrictions.

24.01.2022 Engine is in!! Managed to get the alternator to fit but it took a lot of work. Its a pretty tight fit, just hoping with the solid mounts it won't touch the rail if any movement occurs.

23.01.2022 Pulled the engine and gearbox out of the Pulsar on the weekend with the help of Lee Nuttall and Matt Chick. Already found a few issues. Exhaust valves are a bit leaky, so head is off and already at the shop to get inspected. Gearbox casing has a big crack through it and that what had been causing the massive oil leak. I’ll be posting some more pics/vids to update the goings on of the Pulsar over the next few months. Have a few things planned to hopefully make it run a bit better and bring it a bit more up to date with the new tech.

23.01.2022 Electric power steering is in and working. New fuel filter installed. Also reassembled the inlet manifold on the engine. Thanks to RG Customs for sealing up the unnecessary water holes. Currently working on tidying up the brakes and replacing some worn out bushes. Still waiting on a couple of things for the engine and then it will be going back in. Rob at RG Customs will be fabricating a nice new manifold for me as my old one is totally exhausted!

22.01.2022 Boys day pulling the engine out of the Pulsar..

21.01.2022 Finished making a new top support and mounts for the radiator today, also moved the oil cooler back to its original position of behind the left side of the bumper bar.. Next on the list is removing all the old original wiring.

19.01.2022 Quick update. Managed to move the alternator to the back of the engine. This frees up more room for the turbo and exhaust at the front. Also the gearbox is back together (still needs a good clean)

17.01.2022 Here are the championship points after round 1. Preparation for round 2 at Sydney Motorsport Park is well underway which will be run on the 4th-5th of April. We are always looking for support from local business or companies. Please send a message through for further information if interested. ... #RX8CUP

16.01.2022 Overnight parts from Japan

16.01.2022 Pulled down and inspected the Pulsar gearbox. Found the casing to have a crack which was causing our leak issue. This would have happened during the previous crown wheel and pinion breakage. New casing has been sourced and currently being modified to fit the larger input shaft on the PAR gear set. Also installed the hall sensor wheel on to the exhaust cam as the ignition system is being upgraded to coil on plugs from the R35 GTR.

15.01.2022 Round 2 has been cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic. The break in racing should give us some time to fix up a few other projects. Stay safe everyone and hopefully we’ll be able to continue on with some more racing later on this year.

14.01.2022 Ready to rumble but unable to travel due to the 6 week lock down! This means the end of our RX8 Cup season unfortunately. After a promising round 1 and being 2nd in the championship, missing a round puts us out of contention. Hoping we can get the Pulsar back up and running by the end of the year and possibly get that out for a Tampered Day.

14.01.2022 Will be starting race 1 later this afternoon from P5.

14.01.2022 So the brakes are all done. Removed the skyline calipers and upgraded to TDMimports 6 piston mini calipers with 2 piece rotors. Also gave the rears a freshen up with some new pads. Waiting on a few bits to arrive for the exhaust manifold, pretty much the last thing to go before wiring and tune.

13.01.2022 Round 1 RX8 Cup wrap up. Qualifiying We managed to qualify 5th, wasn't the cleanest of sessions. Car definitely had pace, I just couldn't put together a full lap but I was happy with starting 5th.... Race 1 The plan was to just try and stay out of trouble. I picked up a spot off the start and by turn 5 I was sitting in 3rd. Mechanical issues to the car in front meant I was sitting 2nd on the safety car restart. I managed to hold on to 2nd, woo! Race 2 Had a ripper start and moved up to 1st. I was able to hold on for 6 laps until a mistake through turn 2 had me back down to 2nd position. Another 2nd position finish. Race 3 Was looking like another 2nd position until I came across some oil coming out of the fish hook on the last lap.. Lost a spot there and finished 3rd. Race 4 Didn't get the best of starts and lost a spot. Eventually I was able to move back up to 3rd position and had a great drag race to the finish line out of the last corner and I was just able to get back in front for 3rd by the smallest of margins. These results put us 2nd overall for the weekend!!! Woo, so happy with that result. I'd like to thank my wife Bianca for all the support in the weeks leading up to and also during this race weekend. Jordan and William for being my cheer squad. Matt Chick and Lee Nuttall for the late night clutch change. Rob Field at RG Customs for the great fabrication work on my oil/radiator catch can. We will be back in action on the 3rd to 5th of April for round 2 at Sydney Motorsport Park.

13.01.2022 Pulsar update! Got the head back reco'd and reinstalled. Cleaned up a spare rocker cover I had lying around as my old one was in need of replacement. Installed the taarks hall sensor and tested fitted the coil on plugs. Next thing on the list is to give the engine bay a good clean up and degrease.

13.01.2022 Pulsar is back from being rewired by Race Wires Auto Electrics. Here is a video showing my Haltech dash and Billet Automotive Buttons. Chris does amazing work, give his page a like and make sure to hit him up for any automotive wiring you may need.

10.01.2022 Rob has finished off the inlet manifold, check our the finished product! We think it came up great.

08.01.2022 Tested out the fathers day gifts from my wife and boys today. Gave the GTR a bath with my new snowfoam lance attached to the karcher. Came up a treat, now just need to be allowed to drive it somewhere...

08.01.2022 Working on the Pulsar and keeping an eye on the Supercars while the kiddies run around the backyard

07.01.2022 Added a bit more black. RG Customs is currently modifying my inlet manifold for my new bosch 68mm drive by wire throttle and also waiting on some parts to arrive for the new manifold. Hoping to have everything back together to hit the dyno for a tune before the end of the year

07.01.2022 Throw back to when we first picked up the RX8. Round 2 at Sydney Motorsport Park is still currently scheduled to happen on the 4th of April. Running a single day meeting on the Saturday only now due to the current situation.

07.01.2022 Been a while since an update on the Pulsar. Exhaust manifold is done, dropped the car off for some wiring today at Race Wires Auto Electrics and then it'll be back to RG Customs for the rest of the fabrication work.

06.01.2022 Engine bay got a good clean up today, just gonna tidy up the paint in a few spots and send it.

06.01.2022 Qualifying is starting here in 15 minutes, lets see how we go.

05.01.2022 Prepping the mazda for next weekend of RX8 CUP SERIES

04.01.2022 Front end panels are all back together.. Needs a good cut and polish!

03.01.2022 Check out the progress on the inlet manifold. Hit up Rob for any custom fabrication work you need.
