24.01.2022 I know a boy who went to sleep wearing wicket-keeping gloves last night, and whispered Mum, Im never going to retire from the Stars Thanks so much to @gmaxi_32 @sebgotch @bendunk, @marcusstoinis and all the boys. So generous with your time. He was beyond excited. And thanks Uncle Andy too. #Repost @andytomlee with @get_repost I told my nephew you should never meet your idols! ... Well batted @gmaxi_32 and thanks @sebgotch for the gloves. They are a little tight for him #GoStars #BBL Go @starsbbl!! See more

22.01.2022 Alfred Fred the Head Michael Miles. Making my life infinitely better for 2.5 years today.

22.01.2022 DAY 66 #melbournelockdown And in case youre wondering, Im posting my imperfect journal. 1) because writing helps me get through the lockdown days, and if it brings some lightness to your day too (or encourages you to write) unreal. 2) its a physical journal because I enjoy the time away from the screen. Plus Id like to have a physical thing for the boys and I to look back on years from now. Downside is that it cant be edited - I cant form perfect paragraphs, I migh...t ramble a bit and it certainly wont look pretty or very instagramable. But Im ok with that. 3) Journals dont need to be shared (Im doing parts, not all, of mine as a little experiment - who knows how long for), but I heard about BJ Foggs Tiny Habits book recently and I found it really helpful to get back into writing. I aim to write a sentence a day (and when I start I nearly always end up with more than that). And if I miss a day, thats ok too. Thinking of everyone in Vic and sending lots of love.

22.01.2022 HOLIDAYS From our girl gang to yours, we wish you a happy and safe summer holiday, filled with adventure, curiosity, friendship and great fun. And we hope that, unlike our character Eve, who gets hung up on making everything "perfect", you will take some down-time these holiday, have a break from screens and enjoy the happy accidents that unfold when youre willing to see them. #schoolsout #summerbreak #perfectholidays

21.01.2022 COULD NOT STOP CRYING How amazing to be part of the @t20worldcup Final today. What a way to celebrate #internationalwomensday with my boyz. Im a crier at the best of times, but was not at all expecting the floodgates to open during that pregame. Wow. Understandably two little ones didnt last in the Standing Room but we left at the change of innings and cheered our girls on at home til the end. To @cricketaustralia, bravo for championing our female athletes, to the playe...rs thanks for such a great show and giving George new idols to aspire to, and to the team who put together the entertainment so fun and moving. I rewatched it when the boys got to bed and still had all the feels. Dancing bats ( @cricketcomau) - whod a thought. . PS I may or may not have thought the elephant in the fanzone was real. PPS After hitting a wall, Fred (whos 2) then RAN from the MCG to Coppin St, made it a block from home - not sure where the energy came from Sleep tight little man. @ Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) See more

21.01.2022 Thanks for having me @boroondaralibraryservice for a packed online writing session for kids. And kids - thank YOU - having the chance to chat with young people and (hopefully) help them realise that everyone has a story to tell is a big cup filler-upper-er for me. Libraries all across Victoria have been incredible at adapting to Covid so make sure you check out your local branchs website to see whats available online. #staysafe #keepwriting

20.01.2022 This looks like a great event. Run by the YABBAs and hosted at my old school Camberwell Girls! https://facebook.com/events/s/2020-yabba-in-conversation-wit/232283367779510/?ti=icl

19.01.2022 Counting down the days (months) until I can give my parents, brothers and extended family a cuddle again. I cant bloody wait. Everyone is finding their own way through this, but if its at all helpful to know, for me, Ive found comfort in remembering that life wont be like this forever. Im overwhelmed with all the unknowns, but my heart can handle knowing that I can wrap myself in their arms come spring. September 1. Thats my date. Unless told by the government that its... safe to do so earlier or later than that. For now though, life will be like nothing weve known, but we just have to knuckle down and get on with it. To keep a safe distance (especially from the oldies), be mega-diligent with our hand-washing and not touching our faces, and help our little people feel safe and understand their big feelings. There are so many things that terrify me about the months ahead, (read: being small business owners) and for sure its going to get worse before it gets better, but we can do this. The other things that have helped me are getting off-line. Im trying (and most of the time failing) to only check the news in the morning and the night, and keeping a journal has been helpful (I mainly write when I wake in the morning, before the boys are up, instead of scrolling through all the bad news from the other side of the world). Sleep tight. And heres to getting through the next 162 days. The cuddle at the end will be worth it. And in the meantime my boys and Pauly will get plenty of them. Xx See more

19.01.2022 Nailed the #backtoschool shot on this stinking hot day. Having visited Ashburton Primary last year, Im thrilled to be back and start the year with the Year 6s today and then hang with the Year 4s next week. Ive never done a talk so early in the school year before (day 2!) so I felt great getting these kids excited about story and (hopefully) motivated from the outset, and I cant wait to keep in touch and see how they progress during the year. Thanks for having me! #authorvisits @ Ashburton Primary School

19.01.2022 S E V E N Y E A R S May or may not have completely forgotten until my aunty texted us this morning. But hey, Covid. I found a real goodie. @pauljmiles

17.01.2022 Amazing men. Amazing dads. Always. Sending so much love to all who need it today. Xx

17.01.2022 This has felt like the strangest Anzac Day, but feeling very grateful for the lives we are able to live, thanks to the sacrifices of those brave souls before us - Anzac biccie baking sessions, poppy wreath laying and all. Xx

16.01.2022 10 degrees. Sensible attire for a morning coffee stroll.

16.01.2022 What a delight to film with Story Box Library. I had the opportunity to read two gorgeous books recently. Stay tuned to see what they are... Here I am having a chin wag about what reading means for our family. Does anyone else have an obsession with end papers?

15.01.2022 #blackouttuesday

15.01.2022 I’m proud and grateful (and a hot mess of emotions) knowing that we’ve limped through lockdown and are excited to finally reopen and rebuild tomorrow - there are plenty of small businesses in a worse position. Let’s all rally around our locals. Melbourne, I love you. @roofcarriersystems @snow_tyres #familybusiness #shoplocal #melbourneiloveyou

13.01.2022 The many heads of Fred. Thanks for the haircut @pauljmiles xx

13.01.2022 ITEM 3 (current bid at $100) - 3 half-hour Skype sessions. Can be used in the classroom or to help give that creative project youve always day-dreamed about a little nudge. Im really looking forward to this one #AuthorsForFireys #AuthorsForFiries

12.01.2022 How good are dads who sew! Thank you Pa Mick @michaeljlee70 for whipping up these and keeping us safe. Yes, masks are annoying, lockdown is annoying, but we can do this Melbourne.

12.01.2022 ITEM 4 (current bid at $100) - My beloved Olive Black series (signed for the person of your choice). I had so much fun writing this character. I hope the little person in your life will fall in love with her too. #AuthorsForFireys #authorsforfiries

12.01.2022 How lucky we are to live in this beautiful country. Today I felt grateful for family and friendship, but Im looking forward to when we find a new date to celebrate and acknowledge our land and all its people. #changethedate

11.01.2022 My mum, SEVENTY today. Those who know our family will know how remarkable this is. Loving, fun, wise and as beautiful as ever. I’m the luckiest daughter on the planet. Xx

11.01.2022 When a teacher from a teeny school in Tassie (55 kids!) bids in #authorsforfireys so that she can surprise her class with a new set of books AND donate to the @cfavic. What a legend. Thank you, my dear, delivery is on the way. And thanks to all the hardworking teachers whove started back this week, helping our young rugrats navigate the world.

09.01.2022 This radio interview (by kids!) was so fun. Thanks for having me.

09.01.2022 Felt overwhelmed yesterday with the case numbers in Vic, the tragedy unfolding in Beirut and the realisation that were temporarily closing the doors of our family business (@roofcarriersystems & @snow_tyres) while Melbourne draws all our efforts into fighting this bloody virus (more on the shop soon ). But when the world feels dark, seeing your kids in matching pyjamas will certainly warm the heart. #stayhome #staysafe #longliveflannel

09.01.2022 DAY 65 #melbournelockdown #melbourneiloveyou

08.01.2022 When your pal sees your books in the wild! HOOLEY DOOLEY, I share your excitement @dandistef. And I hear they make an excellent Chrissy present or holiday read for kids aged 8-12. PS - if you happen to see the books out shopping and have a spare moment, please take a snap and share the love. Thank you, thank you! #girlgeeks #christmasshopping #thanksforthesnap

08.01.2022 Lit sparklers this time last week to celebrate the end of winter. Well have more to celebrate in a month or so Melbourne. Hang in there. #neverendinglockdown #butitwillendoneday

08.01.2022 IMPERECT JOURNAL Im trying something new. Its not perfect, far from it, but Im going to take the mantra that its better to start than wait for perfection. Its inspired by two things. Firstly, by another author Ive never met but really admire, @ashedavenport (give her a follow if you dont already - smart, very funny, beautiful with words). Since the Melbourne Stage 4 lockdown started, she posted wonderful things each day. For me, these posts were the slice of scre...en time I enjoyed the most each day - predominately uplifting but also realistic about the shit-show we find ourselves in down here. I needed (and still do need) a break from the news, the political blaming and the negativity, and her posts gave me that. Im working on something to explain the second reason , but in the spirit of carrying on, one day at a time, even though things are not right, heres yesterdays note. #loveyoumelbourne #lockdown

03.01.2022 ITEM 2 - signed Sixty Secrets for a Happy Bride book, 5 available. Makes for a great engagement present and helps keep bridezillas at bay. #AuthorsForFireys #AuthorsForFiries @AffirmPress @sixtysecrets
