19.01.2022 On World Parkinson's Day 11 April it was our great pleasure to commemorate the day with the launch of LIVING AND CARING: A GUIDE FOR CARERS AND PEOPLE LIVING WI...TH PARKINSON'S, a book by the late Ann Andrews & Jennifer Dann. Thank you to Social Development Minister Hon. Carmel Sepuloni MP for opening the event with an excellent speech, the Neurological Foundation of NZ, New Holland Publishers and Unity Books Wellington. A very special thank you to George Andrews and to everyone who came along on the day to help us make sure that Parkinson's is a health strategy priority and people's access to Parkinson's care and support is protected. There are 10 thousand reasons to protect Parkinson's care and support in New Zealand. Help us act now to improve access to health services for people with Parkinson's and ensure the sustainability of the Parkinson's New Zealand Community Educator Service. Call us on 0800 473 4636 or email [email protected] for more information about how you can get involved. See more

11.01.2022 Today is World Parkinsons Day. To mark this I hosted a celebration for Carers and launched the book "Living and Caring" at the request of Parkinsons NZ (and Jud...ith Tizard who first approached me to host this important event). Wonderful to be able to recognise people living with parkinsons, their family and friends and their carers. Around 1 in 500 people in NZ live with Parkinsons. Its more prevalent amoungst older people and is the second most common age-related nerve degenerating disease. We know that it is a life altering condition and that it has huge impacts for those diagnosed as well as their loved ones. Special to have so many awesome people in attendance including my former parliamentary colleague Keith Locke and former parliamentary journalist/ correspondent John Armstrong - both of whom have Parkinsons. Special acknowledgement to the co-authors of this important book the late Ann Andrews (and her lovely husband George) and Jennifer Dann See more

04.01.2022 Jennifer Dann and Ann Andrews co-wrote "Living & Caring - A Guide for Carers and People with Parkinson's." While Ann was diagnosed with early on-set Parkinson's... in her fifties, Jennifer had experienced the perspective of the carer through her mother. In honour of World Parkinson's Day, a day devoted to building awareness around this neurological condition, the book was launched at an event held in Wellington today. https://www.parkinsons.org.nz//living-caring-parliamentary From left to right: Jennifer Dann, co-author of the book and the Minister for Social Development and Disability Issues, Carmel Sepuloni #worldparkinsonsday
