22.01.2022 Introducing Bydand A property situated deep in the lush hills in the Upper Hunter Valley of NSW. A region well know for breeding quality horses know as Scone the horse capital of Australia. Mack Lee-Warner and family have established Bydand stock horses, which is founded on 100-year-old Scrumlo bloodlines. Our goal at Bydand is to breed old-style Australian stock horses with inherited attributes such as their eye with stock, stamina, agility and a good temperament. ... Bydand has an illustrious history as a stock horse nursery and we pride ourselves in producing the all-rounded stockhorse. Bydand stockhorses are a selectively bred from proven old bloodlines for their natural ability and temperament. We specialise in producing a genuine stock horse. Bred in the scrubby mountains, the Bydand breed can muster cattle till the sun rises and dips below the horizon. Beyond the cattle paddock the horses have also become quite the weekend travelling competitors from pony club, to drafting, to show jumping, to polo they have performed in many disciplines.

21.01.2022 Scrumlo Snip turns 40! Scrumlo Snip has now reached 40, she resides today in the lush hills with her fellow mares here at Bydand, up in the hidden hills of Davis Creek, Aberdeen. The un-broken mare is just part of the furniture here, producing 17 foals (16 ASH registered) with only four geldings amongst them. She produces a typical stock horse every time with great temperament, toughness and loads of talent. Her stock includes a competitive camp drafter, two polo horses (bot...h palominos, pictured) who played in a winning polo team at Ellerston, plus numerous of handy station horses. Born at Scrumlo in 1977 she was handed over to Bydand during the family split up in the early 90's. She is an Australian Stud Book registered mare, holding Heritage Status. Her sire William The Conqueror was owned and stood at Scrumlo, he produced over 41 registered horses in the 70's. Scrumlo Snip’s dam Scrumlo Kitten had seven foals, producing four other mares and two ASH registered Stallions. Only one other mare than Scrumlo Snip has carried her line through to today. But both stallions have produced many mares that still carry their blood. There must be something in the water here as Bydand Sago, her eldest son, turns 26 this year. He is the nanny for Bydand’s young stock although he looks just as young. Scrumlo Snip has reached 40 in very good condition so there is no reason why she can’t keep on going to 50. After all the oldest horse on record is believed to be a British barge horse ‘Old Billy’ who went on to be 62, dying in 1822.
