24.01.2022 A big congrats to Reds No 9 Tate McDermott on his first ever Wallaby selection on the bench for this weekends Bledisloe in Sydney. He’s had a fantastic season and deserves everything that comes his way. Tate has been a massive supporter of the program and regular visitor at C2K over the last few years helping the kids and attending whenever he can. ... The whole C2K family are right behind him and we wish him well.

21.01.2022 We have some footage of the (FRC) Front Rowers from last Sunday in both age sections. The panel consisted of Ex Reds and Ireland test Prop Tom Court, Ex Western force Prop Salesi Manu and Ex Brumbies Prop Murray Harley. You will see some a amazing footage of Salesi with a few kids in the younger group teaching them the very basics of scrummaging which is a major facet of the game and simply cannot be overlooked by teenage coaches. ... It’s our panels view that the kids must be exposed to specific coaching in this area starting in the early teenage years and from experienced people who have put their heads in the dark places and know what they’re talking about. Furthermore you’ll see a Q & A scenario where the panel answers a question from a player and Ex Reds/ Ireland/ British Irish Lions Tight Head Tom Court and Loose Head Murray Harley explain to the kids the nuances of setting in the scrum with a focus on head and arm position. The attention to detail, the knowledge and communicative nous of our panel illustrates the quality of education these players are getting. We can see by the questions the kids are hungry for knowledge and at C2K we are pleased they are being satisfied. The FCR is one of the fastest growing groups at C2K where kids are coming done and staying the duration of their school years, constantly showing up and learning from our group of past players. We will have e some more footage coming soon.

19.01.2022 We hope to start getting confirmation emails out by the weekend. We hope to start getting confirmation emails out by the weekend.

19.01.2022 We would like to congratulate all the AIC premiers for 2020. The grand finals were all canceled whch left us with shared premierships in all grades. 1sts Marist/SLC 10A Marist/Iona 9A. Marist/Iona... 8A. Marist/Iona With so many kids coming to C2K via the AIC program it was good to have some rugby in 2020. Marist and SLC are the two traditional powerhouses of AIC rugby but the rise of Iona is credible. Iona players and families in the younger years have really embraced C2K and have by far the most number of C2K participants amongst AIC schools. The Marist and SLC 1st XV teams featured 3-5 kids in each team who have attended C2K over the years. In the 8A comp Marist were totally dominant and Fullback Tom Howard was a leading player scoring a whopping 12 tries for the season. Tom attends C2K along with 4 other team members from the premiership side. In the 10A Iona have won three premierships in a row with a strong outfit headed by Q U16 squad halfback Tom Segger who has been attending C2K since he was 12. This team and the Iona 9A team have approx 33% of their sides who regularly attend C2K. It’s great to see C2K kids doing well and we would like to encourage all 2020 regular A side starting players from 7A up to 1sts to get online and register on our jot form for the up coming two session block on Oct 11&18. If you know of an AiC kid who meets this criteria please share their message with them. AIC rugby I has long been and still is one of the prime breeding grounds for our future playersand we need to ensure this is maintained and the kids can have access to the very best coaching to take their skills to a new level. Look forward to seeing you all at our next block!

19.01.2022 There are several ways for players to become eligible for C2K and the Queensland School Sport program is a fantastic opportunity available to every school player in QLD. It serves as an ideal way for first timers, especially the 11/12s to join our program. It also provides a way for players to top up their eligibility as each player chosen to represent their region is granted two years auto entry to C2K. We like the QSS program because it gives every kid a chance to play rep... footy and it also serves to give opportunity to those who don’t play club football or have missed rep selection via the club system. It also allows the player to gain access to the best coaching available to them at C2K which will greatly assist in improving their game so that they can be their very. best. We have been accepting QSS rep players for 5 years now. Whilst we have nothing to do with this program, we understand the process is as simple as; 1) Register with teachers your interest in trialling for the regional rep rugby team. 2) Attend selection trials 3) If you get selected you play in the tournament listed here and therefore gain C2K eligibility. Please go to QSS website for more info.

18.01.2022 A very nice moment for Hugo Smith (Left) and a Billy Rutherford (Right) sharing Souths Premier Grade duties and versing Will Genia. What an opportunity to experience and learn from. Both Hugo and Billy were regular attendees( at least 35 sessions each) at C2K between 2014-2017 and have still in 2020 continued to do sessions with us post school. They’re both performing very well in their first year of Prems with Souths. Well done!

18.01.2022 C2K would like to thank all of our sponsors who make everything happen. We can’t thank our major sponsors RA and the QLD Reds enough. Especially the guys in the talent ID departments, have been strong supporters of C2K over the last few years and see the importance of skill development of our junior base in our state. Joining RA and the Reds in providing funds for us to outfit all the kids at C2K we have a long list of sponsors who share our vision and donate generously to ...the C2K cause. We are thankful to the individuals who make this happen and we would like to acknowledge them all for their unwavering support and we hope it can continue into the future. 17.01.2022 We are in the process of finalising all C2K sponsorship for 2021. If you would like some information on how you can support the program please either email or DM us. The C2K program is growing each and every year and our past player coaching panel are playing a vital role in the development of our future players. It’s evident by seeing the kids play, the comments from clubs, parents and coaches alike that the skill level and knowledge of our C2K’ers is on a dramatic rise. The... kids that are attending are moving forward in leaps and bounds being exposed to high level position specific skill training in an enhanced learning environment. The aim is to have each and every player present themselves to their post school rugby clubs as efficiently skilled players with a high rugby IQ. This augurs well for the future of the game in QLD, a heartland for Australian Rugby. Our sponsorship requests are needed to provide over 350 uniforms to each and every player and coach. In 2020 we had over 500 players attend C2K sessions with a single day record of 380. We had over 40 past pro player coaches collectively volunteer to form our panel, which is unrivalled anywhere else in Australia, if not the world for teenage rugby academies. All free of charge. If you or someone you know has an interest in rugby and the development of our teenage rugby players and would like to get on board then we’d like to hear from you.

17.01.2022 We have some extended vision from our last C2K session featuring our well credentialed Back 5 panel in Brett Robinson, Toutai Kefu, David Croft, Andrew Plastow and Nathan Sharpe educating the kids on the specifics of the breakdown. These guys know their stuff and at C2K our coaches as a collective are unquestionably the best breakdown panel in QLD. They haven’t learned their stuff out of a book but from years of playing at the top levels of the game and adapting their skills... for different environments. In this session we have them all teaching and demonstrating the basic fundamental aspects of the breakdown. The breakdown requires a lot of clarity and the teaching of its mechanics are vitally important for young players as they grapple with understanding the laws. The attention to the detail is necessary to learn to be efficient and effective come breakdown time and at C2K we understand the importance of this part of the game by ensuring all our players are getting the correct and necessary coaching to take their games to the next level. We can’t wait till our next Post Season sessions and those dates will become available soon so stay tuned! *C2K is a 40+ strong group of volunteer Ex pro players on a rotating coaching panel who deliver 9 annual FREE OF CHARGE (PSS) Position Specific Skill sessions to eligible teenage rugby players at Ballymore. At C2K skill acquisition and development is paramount. The group is dedicated to ensuring QLD continues it’s rich heritage in producing first class rugby players. We are the largest and best PSS group in the country and we cover every position. If you are an eligible teenager then we would like to hear from you because if you are not at C2K then you are seriously missing out

15.01.2022 We at C2K would like to wish the Reds all the best for this weekend and we encourage everyone to get out there and support the state. The Reds have always been very supportive of C2K from Mark Melrose in Operations. Pat Richards ( Coaching Director)and Gaven Head in community rugby facilitating our use of Ballymore and other resources. We also have players Tate McDermott and Jock Campbell being C2K regulars over the last 2-3 years. Brad Thorn, Jimmy McKay and Sam Cordingle...y are also on our coaching panel. Academy/ Talent Identification staff Rod Seib and Paul Carozza. These guys always try to get to our sessions when they can to support and mentor our up and coming kids. At this moment these guys and the game in QLD need our support. They are doing great things representing our state so we encourage you to get your tickets and get along to Suncorp on Saturday and get behind the boys. You can get your tickets at reds.rugby See you all at Suncorp!

13.01.2022 2020 has been a wretched year for our rep rugby aspirants with the exception being all of those boys selected in the QLD Reds U15 and U16 training camps. These have been the only junior rep squads selected in 2020 due to Covid 19. We would like to congratulate all of the C2K kids on their selection in what is such a thrill for these players to be rewarded for their efforts. Looking at the squads it appears that roughly 75% of them have been coming to C2K over the years. Th...at’s a large proportion that have been attending C2K and developing their PSS. Most of these kids are coming in at 12-13 years of age and benefitting from the ongoing development. There’s so many to name but special mention must got to Easts/ Churchie fullback Cameron Philip who was selected as a 14 year old. Cameron is a gifted runner and prolific try scorer who was a standout performer for Brisbane Red/Brisbane City U13 in 2019 and in the GPS competition playing for Churchie 14A team in 2020. He has been coming to C2K since he was 12 and was one of only three U14 players to attend. The other two selections were regular C2K attendees Frankie Goldsbrough and Lehopoame Leota. All kids deserve recognition and will be given two years auto entry to C2K based on this selection. C2K is the place to be in a high performance environment developing your skills and learning off past professional players who are keen to share their knowledge. We have a huge block planned so if you meet our eligibility please register on the link below. https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/6XYCQTD *C2K is a 40+ strong group of volunteer Ex pro players on a rotating coaching panel who deliver 9 annual FREE OF CHARGE (PSS) Position Specific Skill sessions to eligible teenage rugby players at Ballymore. 13.01.2022 We have some footage of the the older Forwards group from our recent session at Easts. In the video the players are focussing on the line-out led by former Wallaby line-out ace Nathan Sharpe , Ex Reds look Andrew Farley, Andrew Plastow, Ex Australia No 7s Julian Gardner and Brett Robinson. They were also assisted by current Reds hooker, Alex Mafi and our C2K front row specialists Robbie Russell, Salesi Manu, Tom Court and Murray Harley. The older group of kids, many of whom... have repped for Q in various age groups over the last few years always look forward to these type of sessions where skill correction and education is fine tuned and instructive. You will see the extreme attention to detail as Sharpie mentions in the video the line-out has many different cogs and each player may only have one or two roles come line-out time - but they are all required to be coordinated perfectly in order for the set piece to be a success. As the video progresses you’ll see the improvement and efficiency of the line-out as it looks more functional and cohesive. The PSS training allows for progression and keeps the players returning to C2K hungry to learn and develop their games by being mentored by experienced past pro players. The feedback from coaches, players and parents, especially with this group was amazing at our Easts session as everyone could get up close and listen to what was happening. We can’t wait until next season now.

12.01.2022 As we come to an end of 2020 we wanted to recognise our coaches who are giving back to the game in varying capacities aside from C2K. Some of our coaches have professional roles and others grassroots coaching via school or club. Some have had great successes in 2020 that are worth recognising. ... In 2020 Mark Bartholomeusz was Assistant Coach at Easts who won the QPR Hospitals Cup whilst Toutai Kefu was an Assistant at BBC 1st XV who were the GPS Premiers. In the AIC 8A competition Iona coached by Andrew Plastow and Marist Ashgrove by Anthony Mathison and Pat Howard tied for Premiers. Here’s a list of some of our other C2K coaches and their 2020 contributions . This will continue to maintain Queensland’s stature as the powerhouse of Australian Rugby. These guys know their stuff and deliver their content with ease. Our 2021 season is looking great with all our sponsors on board and our kit has been designed and ready for production. We can’t wait until 2021!

11.01.2022 We have some footage from the final session of last year where our Front Row group delved into the finer arts of head and binding positions. In the video Alex quizzes long time C2K participant Josh Mongard on what they were learning. Take a look at the video!

11.01.2022 Here is our eligibility criteria for our post season October block on Sunday mornings on October 11@Norths RFC and October 18@Easts RFC. It’s been a shortened season and we will only have a two session block again. ALL PLAYERS who successfully registered for our last block are invited back again. The only change to our criteria is that 2020 GPS/AIC regular starting A side players are now eligible. We would encourage you to share this around so that all newly eligible kids can... register and attend. We will have our rego jot-form application up in the next week or so for ALL players to fill in. It may take up to a week or so after that and you’ll receive a confirmation email. With the heavily disrupted season we can’t wait to get to C2K and we would like to encourage every eligible player to get in touch so that they can benefit from learning off our wonderful past player group who so generously give up their time to to share their expert knowledge with our future kids.

11.01.2022 We can’t stress enough the importance of early skill development in rugby. It’s a diverse and complex game, therefore PSS sessions are an absolute necessity if you want the improve your game. We at C2K can’t get enough of them and are passionate about improving all of our players so they can present themselves better to post school rugby. We are also passionate about QLD rugby, a vital heartland for the game in Australia. https://www.c2krugby.com.au//teenage-rugby-skills-developm

10.01.2022 We are on the cusp of the completion of our junior rugby season as we’d like to congratulate all those who’ve worked so hard to get this season up and running despite the circumstances. A lot of people working very hard all across the board in getting some rugby going, albeit in a modified program but nonetheless it has provided our kids with an avenue to continue and develop their games. We at C2K have our post season block coming up and we are expecting kids to be very hung...ry for more rugby and wanting to develop their PS skills for next year and after. Skill development is an ongoing process. We would like to encourage you to spread the C2K word around to ensure all newly eligible kids get the message that they are welcome at C2K. We are accepting all kids who were eligible and registered for our last block along with newly qualified regular starting A side /1stXv players from AIC/GPS schools along with Downland’s/ Sunshine Coast Grammar and Ambrose Tracey (2020-7A/8A only). Unfortunately due to COVID we have no rep qualified players from 2020 and we hope these programs get back up and running for 2021. However we will extend invites to all players who have been selected for QLD Reds U15/16 2020 school holiday training camps. C2K is an awesome experience. It is the only way to get first class Position Specific Skill sessions delivered by former professional players and tailored to develop the individual so they can take their game to the next level. 06.01.2022 We have our eligibility criteria for our first block of 2021. If a player is qualifying via school it’s important to note that they must be regular starting A side players, not regular reserves or the odd game here. If a player was registered and attended our last block they are eligible for this block. The criteria for the this block is exactly the same as the last block of 2020 except that we’ve added 2020 QLD Reds U15/16 Training Camp players into our criteria for this b...lock. We will have an online rego link up soon on our FB page that every eligible player must fill out once only for each block. 05.01.2022 During our last C2K session our outside back division were given the opportunity to work with former Reds/Wallaby fullback and current Utah MLR Head Coach Chris Latham on the techniques of kicking. There is a need to teach our emerging players the basics of the art of kicking and theres none better than Latho who is a regular C2K panellist. It’s our aim at C2K that our kids need to be skilful at kicking and stressing the importance of practising a wide range of kicks with bo...th feet. Take a look at the video masterclass and you will see the attention to detail of all our coaches in sharing valuable information with our kids to ensure that have every chance of improving their game.

04.01.2022 We would like to congratulate all the GPS rugby teams who finished top of the table for 2020 in what was an odd year competition structure wise. It was just great to get some rugby in and credit to everyone. The investment and commitment in these rugby programs at GPS and AIC is huge and they are traditional nurseries for our game in QLD. Here’s a list of t he teams who we believe were all undefeated.... 1st XV BBC 16A NC 15A NC 14A IGS 13A IGS There were at least 4-5 kids who have attended C2K over the years involved in all these teams with the exception of IGS 14A who have about 9 players who have attended C2K since they were 12. Amongst other schools who have been sending kids to C2K, IGS and NC have been brilliant supporters of the program over the years and these two schools along with BSHS and Iona in the AIC have the leading numbers of any school. In the 16s NC were led around the park by Q U16 Squad playmaker Inigo Lawrance who has been at C2K since he was 12 and they narrowly defeated IGS to remain undefeated. In the U14s IGS who have about half their team play for the 2019 Brisbane City U13 cruised to remain undefeated and two of those players Nathan Fraser and Taine Gregory were at the forefront. Throughout all the A side age groups NC and IGS were superior. There’s an interesting correlation between these teams and the BJRU Div 1 Grand Final winners where IGS players provided at least 50% of the following winning teams. U13 Ipswich Rangers U14 Ipswich Rangers Like wise in the older age groups there’s a huge amount of kids who attend C2K in the victorious BJRU DIv 1 U15 & U16 Souths teams with long term attendees and current Q U15 Squad players Jonah Landbeck, and Callum Reidy leading the way for the U15s and the Morgan twins for the U16s. It’s important to mention other individual school teams who attend C2K with large numbers are ; Churchie U14A BGS 13A BGS 16A BSHS 15A If you are a regular starting 2020 GPS or AIC A side player and have not registered yet please refer to other posts to get to our jot form link for registration. We look forward to seeing everyone at C2K on Oct 11!

03.01.2022 We have some footage of last Sunday at Easts where our Program Coordinator Alex North caught up with former Reds players Nathan Spooner, Chris Latham and Jeremy Austin who all work in the Backs division of C2K. They are all a vital part of our coaching panel and each kid who comes under their tutelage value their mentorship. You’ll hear Spoons speak of the growth and quality of the coaching panel which is unparalleled anywhere in this country. We hear Latho note that improv...ements in kids who are continually showing up and the genuine thanks he receives from parents of the players. Jeremy highlights the desires of the kids who are from the regions and how they aspire to get into C2K. It speaks volumes for the program and is a place for any player who is keen to improve their skill level. It’s great to hear these personal anecdotes and how they view C2K. These guys are massive contributors and value the holistic approach of the C2K program. We are constantly receiving positive messages either thanking the coaches or a snapshot of a kids C2K experience. We are all about providing positive learning experiences and creating opportunities for kids from everywhere to learn the game. With more and more past players joining in we are expecting bigger and better things in 2021 as we continue our passionate drive to educate our kids on the finer details of the game. We will have more footage coming soon.

03.01.2022 We are not far away from 2021 and we at C2K require some help in obtaining sponsorships for the coming season. We are a Not-for-Profit organisation consisting of almost 50 past professional players delivering Free-of-Charge positions specific skill sessions to Queensland’s teenage rugby players. We do 9 annual sessions and invited our best boys and girls from Brisbane and every other region in QLD to ensure our young kids are getting the very best coaching in the PSS space. W...e have few expenses as all of the past players and our admin assistants are volunteers. They do this in an act of giving back to the game and to ensure QLD remains strong in its heritage of producing first class rugby players. Queensland is a heartland for the game in Australia and we need to nurture and develop our kids of the future. There’s no doubt we are providing opportunities for kids everywhere in QLD and even Northern NSW. In 2021 we had over 450 different players attend C2K and receiving advanced coaching from our expert panel of past players in order to give them a head start in the game. We require funding for uniforms for our coaches and each kid who participates so that the C2K experience is special for all involved. In 2020 we handed out over 350 uniforms and in 2021 we hope to do more as our numbers are swelling. If you have any interest or know anyone who may be interested in supporting us please DM or email us.

03.01.2022 We have only three ways that new players can qualify for C2K October 2020 block and all our invitations to eligible players have been sent out via schools and once you receive the invitation you must register online. 01.01.2022 We are pleased to share that our Front Row Coaching panel has grown by one with the addition of former Reds Prop of the early 90s Richard Moroney joining the group. Chud will add some valuable experience. He played for UQ Red Heavies as well as QLD Country and was gifted enough to be able to play on both sides of the scrum. If you can read the writing under the picture it says QLD Reds Front Row Matt Ryan( C2K panellist) , Dan Crowley, Mark McBain and replacement Richard ...Moroney celebrate 15-3 victory over France in 1990 at Ballymore. Our Front Row panel is just simply amazing and is sprinkled with former Internationals and Super Rugby players in what is a national first. It’s unrivalled perhaps anywhere in the world for coaching teenage rugby players and we hope that we can assist Q in producing the very best scrummaging front row forwards for the future. From what we have seen over the last few years the production line is looking strong. We look forward to having Richard on board and can’t wait until October 11/18@ Norths and Easts respectively. We have a big block planned and our registrations are well over the 250 mark. Please note that if you were registered and eligible for our last block you WILL be eligible for this block and like everyone will need to register for the block. We will be accepting new players from recently selected 2020 Q U15s/16s training squads along with all 2020 regular starting A side players from GPS(12A up) and AIC (7A up). For full details please check other posts for our criteria. REMEMBER TO SHARE WITH ALL ELIGIBLE PLAYERS AND POINT THEM TO OUR ONLINE JOT FORM REGO. See you on the 11th!
