It is a red wine blend consisting of Grenache, Shiraz/Syrah, and Mataro (also known as Monastrell or Mourvèdre), hence GSM. The blend originates in the Rhône Valley in France, where it makes up the renowned Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Grenache marries perfectly with Shiraz and Mataro, adding complexity and texture to the resulting blend. Shiraz/Syrah adds muscular structure and dark red fruits and some smokey aromas.
