As always, we are beyond proud of all our athletes, coaches and parents, but this weekend we are feeling especially blessed. We welcomed our spunky baby boy Rafi to the world 4 weeks ago, and it has been a whirlwind of ups and downs... we’d like to thank all our CA Family for the love, support and kindness they have shown us during a stressful time, and a HUGE shout out to our incredibly talented, passionate an...d dedicated coaching crew who have gone above and beyond to ensure our athletes were well looked after in the comp lead up - thank you will never be enough. You are truly family to us, Willow and Rafi. A special mention and undeniable ‘we couldn’t do it without you’ to head coaches Meg, Sarah and Kat who kept the ship sailing smoothly while we had some important family time. We see you and everything you do, and we appreciate you more than you know. 15.01.2022 As Term 4 approaches, athletes and parents are no doubt beginning to think about what the 2020 cheer season may bring for them! At this time, we would like to remind you that team selections are an important event for gyms, coaches, athletes and parents alike, and it is imperative for us at CA to ensure the decisions made regarding team selections in 2020 are in the best interests of the athletes. We see a lot of catchphrases thrown around at this time such as ‘perfection bef...ore progression’ and ‘trust the process’, but even though these reminders may ring true, it can still be a bitter pill to swallow if you or your child doesn’t make the team they had hoped and prayed to the cheer gods for! My favourite reminder about what team selections really come down to is this: ‘Your level is the level at which you can execute excellent technique!’ Our sport requires safety to be of utmost importance - technique provides this. Our sport requires confidence amongst all team members - technique provides this. Our sport requires thinking on your feet - technique provides this. Our sport requires progression from skill to skill - technique provides this. Our sport is competitive! Technique is a must have, not a luxury item, if you want to be successful on the comp floor. We are in the business of making kids happy! If we don’t get enjoyment from cheerleading, then ultimately, what is the point? But that enjoyment doesn’t come from a number alone.. your level is not the defining factor in your cheerleading experience. The joy comes from a sense of pride in what you put out on the floor, confidence in your individual skills, trust that your teammates have your back. For parents, it’s in knowing that your child’s wellbeing is paramount. When athletes are placed in the correct level for their ability, pride, confidence and trust will follow. Progressing athletes too fast just undermines their potential. For these reasons we ask that, wherever you train, whatever your experience, whoever the gym owner or coach - you approach 2020 team selections with an open mind and trust in the experienced staff you have chosen to work with. We care, and we will make the best decision possible for all athletes to experience enjoyment, success and longevity in our awesome sport! Hannah - CA Flyers

THEN, after an intense comp day training, some serious self belief and the biggest improvement I’ve ever seen in a team in less than 48 hours, Altitude climb their way to 2nd place at The Pinnacle!... Earned, Not Given... ain’t that the truth! All of these athletes have earned their achievements through unwavering commitment and passion for what they do, and constantly striving to better their best! This class will run during the school term on Saturdays starting from week 3 (8th of August). In this class athletes will learn the fundamentals of cheerleading including stunts, tumbling, dance and jumps. They will develop strength, teamwork, co-ordination and self confidence in a safe and supportive environment. CheerAbility is for all ages and abilities, giving everyone an o...pportunity to participate. Classes are tailored to the abilities of each individual athlete so that everyone can participate to their fullest potential.
