14.01.2022 Before volunteering at Cahoots, I hadn't experienced anything as amazing as this, it was a life-changing experience that brought so much laughter and joy but also challenged me and was unbelievably rewarding. The activities were so awesome and I had the chance to join in and have so much fun with everyone. I highly recommend Cahoots to anyone that is considering this, they were very supportive and accommodating to every volunteer. After camp, I felt so humbled but it has spa...rked my passion for working aside those with disabilities. BECOME A VOLUNTEER: https://www.cahoots.org.au/summer-volunteer-bonanza/

11.01.2022 Today we recognise the contribution of one of our amazing volunteers who has just completed her 100th camp with Cahoots. The compassion that Trish shows to the young people in our care is an inspiration for us all. Trish is someone who treats everyone with respect and kindness, no matter what the situation is and always goes above and beyond to lend a helping hand. She brings many skills and talents to Cahoots and is someone who always puts our families and the safety of the young people in our care first. Not only that but Trish has acted as a mentor and friend to many of our younger volunteers who have gone on to work and serve in the sector. Thank you for being a role model for us all, for everything that you do and for all the lives you have made better!

11.01.2022 In case you were still wondering how our Young Adults went with their table tricks - here's the answer!

11.01.2022 I started volunteering in the summer of 2016 for something to do during the holidays and I didn’t know anyone else volunteering or what Cahoots was even really about. By the end of the camp season I had made some life long friends and who still come on camp today. The experiences we had over the season and helping the participants to achieve things most people wouldn’t have thought possible was the most memorable part of it all. It was a summer full of laughter, new friends,... new experiences and personal growth and development for not only the participants but us volunteers as well. My favourite moment of every camp would have to be the talent show where the participants can showcase any talent or act that they like. Performances range from a song and dance act to a participant teaching the audience how to make paper planes. It’s always the best part of camp and it always brings tears to my eyes as we watch our participants get up and over come their fears to perform for us. I have made so many memories and had unforgettable experiences while volunteering with cahoots and would absolutely recommend camps to anyone.
