25.01.2022 LATEST UPDATE A meeting was held tonight with CDJRL Representatives and Club Presidents in regards to the future of the 2020 season. It was decided to hold off on making a final call until a meeting to be held on June 30th.... At that stage current restrictions will be looked at and a decision on the remainder of the season will be made. Thank you for your patience and we will keep everyone posted!

24.01.2022 And that’s a wrap of Covid Season 2020!! This season was all about just getting back onto the field and playing some footy! The club is extremely proud of the great sportsmanship displayed by all of our teams. We would like to thank our amazing volunteers for helping to manage all of the new Covid Safe procedures and our players and parents for their patience and understanding. Thank you also to the volunteers that helped out at Jones Park with all of the extra jobs requ...ired to be able to return to play. This season saw us welcome new players to the club, in particular some Under 6’s for their first year of footy and also saw us farewell our Under 16’s in their last year at Juniors. Congratulations also to Nicholas Hannam and Ryan Callaghan who received their Life Player awards for having played all of their Junior Footy from Under 6 - Under 16 at the club! Enjoy the break and see you back and ready to go in 2021! Go the Fish!

21.01.2022 Our AGM was held on Sunday 8th November. Thank you to everyone that attended and to our incoming 2021 Committee. Unfortunately the Secretary role remains vacant. The club would like to thank outgoing President, Paul Callaghan, who has been at the helm for the past six years. A huge thanks also to Executive Committee members Michelle Papworth & Stacey Callaghan who are stepping down from the Treasurer & Secretary roles. We are pleased to welcome new President, Bernard ...Sabadi (BJ), and know he will continue to foster the culture and professionalism at the club. The club can’t operate without the Secretary role being filled and we are sure that there are people in our club community who can step up and become part of our amazing committee. 20.01.2022 Under 13-16 Training Information Training will re-commence Tuesday 14th July. Please do not attend training if you are even slightly unwell. Anyone with a cough, runny nose or fever will not be able to enter the grounds. ... Players are required to bring their own water bottle to training. Players are to sign in with their team manager at the entry point (desks will be set up). Site plan attached with entry/exit points. Please arrive at 4:50pm to allow for the check in process. Once checked in, players are to go directly to their training field. On the completion of training at 6pm, players are required to leave the grounds immediately and head to the exit point. In the interim, while we are getting all of our procedures in place, we ask that only players and volunteers enter the grounds. If a parent/carer needs to enter, you will need to sign in at the entry point. All grandstand seating is closed so we suggest you bring your own chair. If you have not paid fees in full ($150), you are required to pay the balance prior to 31st July. Please contact your team manager if you have any queries in regards to fees. The office will be open for payment (EFTPOS only) and collection of merchandise. The office will only be open from 5pm - 6pm on Tuesday’s and Thursday’s until 30th July. Please advise your Team Manager ASAP if you will NOT be returning this season to allow teams to confirm numbers. There is still a lot of work to do this season to ensure we play under the Covid Safe policy and our volunteers are working extremely hard behind the scenes to make this happen. 19.01.2022 Season Update Please see the information from CDJRL below as a result of the meeting held tonight with CDJRL officials and Club Presidents. This was never going to be a straightforward decision, nor one that would suit everyone.... We will require additional volunteers for each team and encourage everyone to assist where they can at the club. Please be assured the club will continue to ensure our younger age groups (6 - 12) stay involved and engaged through development sessions in Term 3. Our committee is working hard to ensure we are ready for a return to training and play after the school holidays. Once we have details of this confirmed we will contact all members via email and through Team Managers. This year has been unprecedented on so many levels. We look forward to welcoming everyone back in a modified format next term and will also be looking forward to hopefully a more normal 2021. Thank you to everyone for your patience and understanding. 19.01.2022 Evening everyone the CDRL seniors made a decision tonight due to all the restrictions going forward not to continue with the 2020 season. Cairns Junior Preside...nts were provided with some options for the rest of the 2020 season and will make a decision on that next Monday night. Once we make a decision we will post it here first. NRL Community Coach Workshops being held at Stan Williams Park (Cairns Brothers, Behan St Manunda) Sunday 23rd August. 6's -12's - 9.00am - 12.30pm 13's+ - 1.00pm - 4.30pm... The Community Coach Face to Face Workshop is the second component of the accreditation course. This is the final requirement for anyone who is coaching a team from 6-12 years old. New Players must provide identification in the form of either a Birth Certificate or Passport ... these can be uploaded when registering or presented to the club and we can take a copy. 1. Head to https://www.playrugbyleague.com 2. Search using 4870 or Brothers Junior Rugby League Football Club Cairns Inc 3. Find and select Brothers Junior Rugby League Football Club Cairns Inc & click Register 4. Log in with your existing NRL account or create a new account. Any existing registration profiles from previous seasons which used the same email as your NRL Account will automatically link for convenience 5. Select the participant you would like to register or add a new participant 6. Complete the registration form. You can select to pay registration fees online by Credit Card or if you prefer to pay in person you can skip this part to complete your registration 7. 07.01.2022 For the games at Jones Park information for spectators. We do not have a canteen at this stage so you will need to bring your own water and snacks for any chil...dren. Assistance is required with putting any of your rubbish in the bins provided. Reminder - Please have EVA Check in downloaded. If not you will need to fill in the contact trace document at the designated tables near the entry points. Entry for Teams & Team Officials is via Gate 5 at the Eastern end of the car park. No other person will be allowed entry through that gate. Names will be checked off and passes will be checked off. Everyone else - spectators, and family members must enter through Gate 4. For the 8 weeks we would prefer any spectators to pay using Eftpos. We will have minimal cash on the gate. Entry is $5 adults $3 Aged Pensioners and children school aged with Id are free. There is no ATM machine. Exit for everyone will be via Gate 1 located at the Western end of the grounds. Please follow the Exit signs. Any smokers will need to exit via Gate 1 get a stamp and then re-enter through Gate 4. We will also be holding a minutes silence for Martin Hurst both on Friday night and Saturday morning prior to the first game. All games will be run on Central timing from the main score box. 02.01.2022 Jnrs support Brothers Old Boys at Cate Dunbar Memorial Bowls day. Brothers Jnrs represented in 4 teams to compete with the Old Boys and Seniors at the Cate Dunbar Memorial Bowls Days. This was also the Brothers Old Boys fundraiser for Movember which saw them raise a grand total of $13,000!... Great fundraising effort on the day and we also saw Old Boy Barry Skinner shave off his Mo that was 36 years old for charity. A great evening for Fish and awesome work and effort by the Brothers Old Boys!
