22.01.2022 Just a reminder all parents need to be registered to attend next Sundays Club day. They need to be registered SEPARATE to the athlete so they can be accounted for. There are a number of families who have registered in correctly please check your email if you have already registered, as our team is currently contacting those families.

20.01.2022 Don't forget nominations close 22nd November for our 2021 Club Captain's. Cairns Athletics will hold their AGM at the end of January. This meeting is open to all club members and whilst attending doesn't mean you need to be on the committee, we will have a number of key roles that will need to be filled to ensure we have a successful 2021.

Together with other Committee members, organise sign... on day requirements. Process fairplay registrations. Input all registrations for the season into Team Manager and maintain database. Maintain filing system with hard copy of all registrations this will be minimal due to online registrations. Providing administrative assistance on the desk at Club Meets and Carnivals. Circulate information regarding upcoming carnivals in the region Records Officer: Responsible for recording results of each Club Meet in Team Manager Entering in athlete’s results after each club day and printing reports of results for uploading to the website. Set up of meets and events in Team Manager 4 and printing of score sheets for each event and preparation of folders for each club day. Maintaining the PBs and Athlete of the Month points systems. Athlete of the Month certificates and presentation of the prizes. Confirm club records.

11.01.2022 Cairns Athletics Coach Troy is offering high jump training tomorrow afternoon from 5pm. This will be for any ANQ member attending the NQ Champs and would like the opportunity to train prior.

Inwards and outwards correspondence and collection of mail from the post office box. Preparing agenda for monthly meeting and distributing prior to each meeting. Taking minutes of the monthly ...meetings and distributing to all Committee Members. Distributing the minutes to ANQ and LAQ each month. Providing administrative assistance on the desk at Club Meets and Carnivals. Collation and publishing of the Yearbook for the next season. Treasurer: Overseeing the financial affairs of the Cairns Athletics. Authorizing all purchases made by Cairns Athletics. Keeping an accurate record of all receipts and payments Reporting the financial position of the Club at each Club Committee meeting; Ensuring the collection of monies is properly recorded and receipted. Ensure all financial records/invoices/grant information is prepared, submitted to the club’s bookkeeper.

09.01.2022 In the lead up to the NQ Champs in October, a number of our volunteer coaches will be running training sessions at Barlow for interested Athletes heading to Mackay. Monday's from 5-6pm will be hurdles training with Heather and Troy will run high jump later in the week. Keep an eye out for updates on the exact day time for high jump.

07.01.2022 Carnivals are an exciting element of Athletics, to make sure they run smoothly we need a group of people to assist behind the scenes to make them happen. #runjumothrow #volunteer #manyhandsmakelightwork Carnival Coordinator and assistants: responsible for organising carnivals hosted by Cairns Athletics. Planning of carnival program in consultation with other members of the Committee. Preparation of revsport for carnival. Order of medals/trophies for carnival. Promotion of event through schools and other athletics communities. Running Meet Manager and Photo Finish during the carnival with assistance from other Committee members.

06.01.2022 Athletics Australia has announced the national championships will be held this April in Sydney.

06.01.2022 To all our Athletes and their families traveling to Mackay over the next few days, there are a number of roadwork locations that are causing delays. Please drive safely and parents as there are no medal ceremonies send through your Athletes achievements so we can post them. Good luck but most importantly have fun.

03.01.2022 Please see below program for our upcoming club day on the 20th Sept commencing at 9am. This club day is open to all ANQ clubs in the far north. Registration go live at 1pm today. There is currently a system issue with Revsport, if you are unable to register please message us directly through facebook so we can add you manually. ALL volunteers/parents and spectators MUST also register. NO REGISTRATION = NO ENTRY. Registration close 17th Sept there will be NO late registrations or amendments after this date. 02.01.2022 Below is the link for next weekend's NQ Champs booklet. Due to COVID 19 there are significant changes in how certain things will be run. Please read the attached and ensure that all families attending are following the rules. ANQ have worked tirelessly to put this event on and will ensure it complies with the COVID industry plan. Due to the size of the competition it's expected QPS and QHealth officials will attend to ensure compliance.
