Thank you to Mt Sheridan Plaza, Cairns Aquarium, Cairns Museum, Cairns Turtle Rehabilitation Centre, Surf Life Saving North Queensland, Jackleys Bakehouse, and everyone who joined us for helping to make our first National Science Week Event a success!! If you missed out this year, theres always 2021!

23.01.2022 Weve been pretty quiet on this page since COVID restrictions went into place. Wanted to give an update and let everyone know that even though we arent running any programs at the moment, there has been lots of behind the scenes work taking place. Cairns Childrens Museum is now a registered charity and can receive tax deductible donations! We are also registered with Containers for Change. Use Scheme ID C10239096 when recycling your cans and bottles and the 10c will go d...irectly to us! The grant writing team has been busy searching and applying for grants to help with future programming. If you know of any, please let us know! We are still working with the Cairns Museum, and will bring back the popular STEAM with a Theme program in person as soon as we can safely do so. AND....last but not least, we have secured a spot at Mount Sheridan Plaza to run some Science Week Activities. Watch this space for more information!

Each week there will be activities centered around a different "mystery object". This months theme is Reef and Rainforest. See the Event Flyer for more information. 07.01.2022 Due to the speed at which COVID-19 virus advice is evolving, the Cairns Museum and Cairns Childrens Museum have decided that the remaining sessions of STEAM wi...th a Theme will be cancelled / postponed until further notice. We are very sad to have to make this announcement but feel it is in the best interest of our volunteers, families and the community. The program has been "building STEAM" and we were really looking forward to the next few weeks. We will continue to monitor the situation, and STEAM with a Theme will be back up and running as soon as we can! Updates will be made on the Cairns Museum Website and Cairns Childrens Museum Facebook Page.
