03.01.2022 JACK WILSON MEMORIAL Congratulations to all winning connections of the Jack Wilson memorial race. Jack Wilson won the Cairns' jockey premiership 25 years in a row. Jack was still riding in races at 71 years of age. An incredible jockey and legacy with over 5000 winners in his career.... Jack is a true legend of the sport in Far North Queensland and is always remembered with a race named in his honour each year. He is still involved in racing at Cannon Park as his ashes are buried at the 800m mark. Featured here are Jack Wilson's family presenting the trophy to Brian and Chris Jorgensen (owners) and Rodney Miller (trainer) after Lassiter's Lode won the memorial race.
