25.01.2022 If your life or the life of your family was on the line and you had to pick up a baton, would you know how to use it? I wanted to scratch the surface so that th...e average person could go home with the very basics and they did! We simplified as much as possible. Just 3 basic angles of attack. We did some pad work, some cross over and we did some sparring at the end with my brother from another mother Tommy Joe Moore. Good memories!

25.01.2022 Great to hear Joe talking about distance, timing & telegraphing (tells). All very valid in real fights.

24.01.2022 Beach training session at Holloway’s Beach, Cairns. A beautiful day in FNQ. 34C and mostly sunny. No crocodiles spotted today but one was here in the previous few weeks. Lots of throws, takedowns, ground fighting on the sand and in the water. Then a few beers and lunch at Strait on the Beach restaurant.... Great effort guys, an awesome way to finish our 2020 training. Thanks Team. See more

19.01.2022 I DON’T FLINCH Most common rebuttal by people who don’t understand physiology, or their survival reflex. Flinching isn’t bad. It means you were surprised. ... Flinching is good - if/when you understand the science of the conversion. When you flinch It’s because your survival system picked up the slack when your thinking brain was distracted. @spear.system training trains your cognitive brain to respect and integrate what your reactive/reptilian brain are hardwired to do during sudden danger. Teaching them to work harmoniously is efficiency. The author of the classic ON KILLING sent this to me: "Tony! I am a BIG fan of your work. I think that your contributions have taken the warrior community into an entirely new evolutionary step. I believe that hundreds of years from now, when the history of this Warrior Renaissance, this Golden Age of Warriors, is written, that Tony Blauer will be remembered as one of the great pioneers who propelled us forward to the next evolutionary step in warriorhood. And you can quote me on that! LT. Dave Grossman, U.S. Army (Ret.), Author, On Killing, Director, Killology Research Group Let’s go! I’m teaching 5x a week. Coach B Info.tonyblauer.com

18.01.2022 Some project I was working on for the Counter Custody & Escapology Module. Then 2 great mind (Jamie Miller and I) came together to create the few drills you c...an see here. We decided to call it "Unlawful Restraints Module for T01 Civilian" Of course this was the very first time we played around with these drills so we can do much much better than that with a bit of serious practice. We first went to develop the attribute base necessary in order to pull this off and then we slowly increased the pace. In terms of the various approaches we used here I’d say that there is some UC and some TC Jeet Kune Do. I was quite hangover from the 2 nights before but it still was good fun to film anyway! Can wait to get together again with Jamie and develop more cool shit!

16.01.2022 Tonight at training we dealt with multiple attackers who have you cornered. Escape isn’t an option so you have to fight your way out to escape. Michael escapes the attackers.

15.01.2022 Low kicks are hard to defend and don’t necessarily require great flexibility.

15.01.2022 Training resumes next Tuesday. Regular class at 5.30pm and Basic Combatives at 7pm. Don’t miss out on training.

15.01.2022 So very true. An Instructor/coach cannot train you when to go. That will be up to you on the day. But like Tim says then you go 100%. That’s why we train to finish the attacker. Make him unwilling/unable to continue his attack.

14.01.2022 Armed Robbery | A real-life gun disarm | Real Violence For Knowledge CATEGORY: Robbery | Analyzed Content | Explicit content 2 (scale 1-5) - Rated NC-17 A real ...gun disarm analyzed! Sorry for the delayed post, many obligations. When you studied reality you can implement your knowledge into your self-defense training, which is essential for an effective and functional answer. Look especially at the patterns which I distracted from this situation (text). There are some interesting ones which people often say will never happen in reality. I made another video 2-3 months ago about gun disarming and 1 of the 4 tactics demonstrated = used in this real situation. The link to the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aym7vkxWv-U Read the description first and make the correlation! 14.01.2022 54 yo and still looks deadly.

13.01.2022 Festive flinch - natural reaction to a threat.

13.01.2022 Weapon of opportunity -> I present the baseball bat Definition in advance: Weapons of opportunity (force multiplier) are objects that are not illegal weapons ac...cording to the law, but can be used as such --> kitchen knives, baseball bats, chains, bottles, hammers, screwdrivers, stones, etcetera. Usefulness and use: A force multiplier can be decisive in a self-defense situation. There are numerous scenarios where it is legitimate and desirable to use an environmental weapon. In training, it is important to pay attention how to use these alternative weapons in different scenarios. Many objects lend themselves well to use as a weapon, but you have to spend time dealing with certain features of a tool. Baseball Bat Use - Few Notes: Use it where it is good at -> to produce power strikes. Not a combination of 10-20 little hits, but 1 or 2 strikes on the button. So you have to train specifically for that. Learn how to generate power. Just focus on basic strikes - in this clip mostly Z and X strikes. How to handle the momentum of this top weight "weapon". How to catch a swing and use it for the next action. How to adjust the distance in a potentially chaotic scene to deliver and receive(footwork). Link the use to your own physicality. It should fit your body. In this example, I can use the bat with 1-hand (which has several advantages), but that is not for everyone. It is desirable to use/do what you are good at, instead of conforming to "general tools". I'm using it also with 2-hands (depends on weight/length). There are many more things to mention, but the above is intended to give an impression that certain occasional weapons have certain handling that you should pay attention to. What I often see is that instructors do mention the weapons of opportunity occasionally, but in physical training, they tend to only focus on the standard weapons such as knives and 60-80cm sticks. * Use of opportunity weapons = knowledge of legitimate self-defense and the law on the use of (opportunity)weapons. A question for you guys --> do you spend effective time handling different environmental weapons (which you'll find in your natural environment)? I know some people fully rely on their guns but there are many other scenarios/people/countries.

13.01.2022 Watch where the pistol is pointed the whole time he tries to disarm. And how easily the knife guy let’s go of the weapon. Wearing a Krav Maga T shirt doesn’t mean you know what you are talking about.

12.01.2022 And this my friends is why Traditional drilling to knife attacks does not work. There was no awareness here, no situationsl control at the verbal range, just e...go, arrogance, posturing and then BOOM! Out of nowhere, the steel penetrated ballistically and viciously, blood exploding on the sidewalk... victim in shock and disbelief. https://fb.watch/2xMVVs5uNg/

12.01.2022 Yet another edged weapon attack. Despite what some people think any edged weapon (screwdriver, spike, etc) can kill. Just look at some of the improvised weapons that they use in jails. If your martial art or self defence system doesn’t deal with (realistic) knife attacks you are not learning self defence.

08.01.2022 Matty & Steve doing a ranging drill during warm up tonight at training.

08.01.2022 Hands up, situational awareness (being aware of those around you and what they are doing) and scanning to avoid tunnel vision (being focused on the one attacker only). Even highly skilled ring fighters (conditioned to fight one attacker at a time in the ring) are beaten if they don’t follow those rules. For my guys that is why I am always going on about hands up. Last night’s training against multiple attackers session showed the importance of hands up, being aware of what is happening around you and avoiding focusing on just one attacker.

08.01.2022 Training resumes tonight. 5.30pm for regular class and 7pm for Basic Combatives. See you there!

04.01.2022 Our last regular session of 2020. Dealing with escapes from common holds - side headlock, rear naked choke, rear bear hug & full Nelson. First we did a SPEAR Range Rover drill for each hold at the various ranges (legs, striking, grappling & close quarters). Then the Krav solution which usually has a number of techniques from some or all of the ranges. A big turn out and good debrief afterwards.... Great to see my old mate Kris Cole tonight and Tim joined us for his first session too. Awesome session, awesome year. See more

04.01.2022 Outstanding advice and 100% correct. There’s a huge difference between training in bullshit techniques where your attacker stands still and is compliant, compared to training for the Real World. When shit gets real, you’ll be thankful you were trained by SEKMI
