Here is Raylene, lead nurse for planning this project: "We have exciting news. We are trialing a booked appointment clinic for our Trans*, gender diverse, Brotherboy and Sistergirl clients. 08.01.2022 Today we acknowledge International Overdose Awareness Day. Its a very sad day of remembrance for many of us and our families and friends, as over 4 people die of unintentional overdose in Australia every day (Australias Annual Overdose Report 2019). This post below from our friends at the Qld Injectors Health Network (QuIHN) offers some really great tips for overdose prevention, including having Naloxone available for people at risk. You can get Naloxone free at Cairns S...exual Health Service (injection or nasal spray) to have on hand Naloxone is a short-acting medicine that can temporarily reverse an overdose caused by opioid drugs (like heroin, or strong painkillers that contain morphine or oxycodone). A dose of Naloxone can help a person to breathe properly and regain consciousness after theyve had too much of an opioid drug. Even if Naloxone is used, an ambulance should still be called by phoning triple zero (000). See more
