24.01.2022 Thank you to all who attended the sale yesterday, it was great to get our members interacting and laughing even though sometimes at our expense... the best way to learn is from your mistakes and boy did we do some learning yesterday! This event was to get members together, sign up new ones, prove that our club is expanding and find out what areas of interest is wanted and in that way it was a fantastic success. We are still a young club and learning so need your support and ...advice in many ways is welcome as is constructive feedback. Another massive development for our club is that we have been given the great accolade by the Cairns Show Society of being invited to run the 2017 Cairns Show Poultry section exclusively! We thank them for their confidence in our ability and bask in the recognition of our talent pool. A newsletter will be developed and posted here soon as well as emailed so watch this space......

18.01.2022 Well I have just shut the shed door and what a day we had. We pulled off Cairns Regional Poultry Clubs first ever show. I want to thank my committee Adelle Johnson-Blackmore and Henry Blackmore for all of their ongoing commitment and effort. Ontop of giving the Poultry pavillion a face lift we have created, grown and presented a show that I am proud of. Three extremely hard working dedicated members George and Melissa Harvey and Sheryl Risdale , you guys have put in... a huge effort to help us get over the line .Graeme Scott for guiding us and keeping the wheels in motion today. Michael Pieri and Brian Poppett for putting together out first ever schedule. Morri Risdale for manning our BBQ today ....that is a permanent position just for you William Johnson and Chloe McKay for doing the card running for us . Laurie Austin again for his guidance and putting his kneck out to step up and judge our show. Selena McMurray for judging our backyard and egg section .Also Sonja Parks and Cathy Newton both of these amazing ladies were only a message away to ask for help. The biggest thanks goes to all of our exhibitors. ...with out their support our show would not have been possible and lastly our sponsors . Thankyou to each and everyone one who was involved in the show in any way, shape or form and I look forward to the challenge of putting together another show next year. Cheers Shanna Janz President

06.01.2022 Hi to everyone we met at the show last week and welcome to our 11 new members- Look out for your new membership cards and numbers coming to you soon and it is great to see our club continuing to expand. In my new role as secretary my first task is to thank the outgoing Adelle Johnson-Blackmore for her efforts and wish her well as her studies take up more of her time then to invite all members to register for the upcoming auction on the 28th August. Come along to the poultry pavilion at the show grounds to Meet & Greet like minded chicken folk as well as have the option of taking home some beauties. Also a big congratulation to our president Shanna for her tireless efforts behind the scenes at the Cairns show keeping our flag flying, please everyone send her some happiness as that was an unenviable and unpaid marathon!
