25.01.2022 Although we are not quite ready to cram people in, we are excited to be finally allowing guests to dine-in this Friday from noon till hopefully forever! While there are restrictions on the amount of people who are allowed to dine with us, we ask for 2 things, please respect all others who wait patiently to dine-in (think speed dating) and please no byo during this time. 19.01.2022 KESHK! One of our summer specials that has just landed on the Cairo Takeaway menu. It's a unique dish that is very popular in the Middle East. Keshk has got the consistency of a rice pudding but only savoury. It's beautiful flavours come from a fragrant chicken broth. It is truely delicious. We like to finish it off with some caramelised onions and serve it with some soft flat bread.

15.01.2022 We are excited to be now selling 1kg (& 500g) bags of freshly made falafel mix. Instructions on how to roll, shape & cook them (like a pro) are on the pack. Any of the left over mix can be frozen for later use too. Tip: Get some flat bread then add your freshly cooked falafels w pickles, cucumbers, tomatoes & don't ever forget the tahina! 11.01.2022 We could all use a little more sunshine in our lives. Cairo Takeaway will be open all long weekend and serving up some of this sunshine ale brewed by our good friends at Grifter.

10.01.2022 The debate on the wearing or not wearing of a mask has been raging on of late. Heck, even the leader of the New World Health Order (N-WHO), the Faucinator, has flip-flopped on the issue. But I did a little digging around and found out that even Egyptian Queens wore masks!

09.01.2022 Abo Tarek is without doubt the most famous Koshary joint in the world. The multi-level restaurant located in downtown Cairo is wholly dedicated to Koshary. Koshary is one of Egypt's staple meals and is also a dish that's great in family lockdown situations or eaten in the park, 1.5 metres away from anyone else. And because it's a little trickier than usual getting to downtown Cairo, we got those in Sydney covered.

06.01.2022 So much going on in the world, it would be remiss of us to say things are getting back to normal. We certainly hope everyone is doing ok. June 1 is here and we are now able to except more diners. For us it means we can operate at almost full capacity, we'll need to exercise some social distancing and may lose a few seats because of this. Our trading hours will go back to pre-covid, Monday to Friday, noon till late and Saturday and Sunday, 11.00am till late. ... We will continue our take away and home delivery however will be soon rolling out a website platform that will solely handle this. Look forward to seeing you all!
