16.01.2022 This message is for those of you who have been constantly asking about me I spent two weeks in the hospital after the surgery ended up being more serious than I expected, and so recovery will now be longer. In saying that, I am now officially recovering and will start making cakes again in the 2nd week of January (hopefully)! I also want thank those of you who have helped me through this difficult time... who have looked after my kids, provided cooked meals and especially to those who constantly called and reminded me of the reasons I needed to keep my spirits high while I was feeling soo low. Your continued love and support is beyond appreciated!

16.01.2022 As I mentioned earlier, there will be no more cake posts after today for the time being Today, I thought I'd start off by saying... Firstly, thank you to everyone who has personally messaged and called to check on me. I'm soo grateful to have such kind-hearted people around me!... I'm hoping to get back to business after 6 weeks of recovery, so please do continue to send your enquiries from the 13th of November as I will be replying to them and taking orders to be placed from January 2021. If you are planing to order a cake for next year, please do message me through my Facebook business page (no DMs please) with the date & how many servings you require so I can send you a quote. Finally, I would like to thank all my clients for their continued support and their patience at this difficult time!

14.01.2022 Cakes by Dee will be unavailable from the 30th of October to the 13th of November inclusive due to medical reasons. Although I will not be replying to enquiries during this period, I will be replying to enquiries from the 14th of November for orders to be placed from the 1st of January 2021. . 13.01.2022 This is a little update about my recent surgery... recovery is taking more time than was expected BUT we are now back on Instagram! I have already started missing making cakes so I can't wait to get back to it especially excited to try @caking_it_up new mesh stencils... I'm really hoping someone will request a fresh bloom cake for me to make as soon as I get back to it!... Speaking of which, I will start making cakes again from the 8th of January. In the meantime please keep checking back to see some previously unseen cakes. Thank you all once again for the well wishes and love these past few days. 08.01.2022 My last cake before the surgery and the last cake for 2020! Please note that this is NOT A FONDANT CAKE! Lots of my followers have messaged me asking how I achieved this 'fondant' finish. The answer is... lots of practice, patience and my special Swiss meringue recipe ... I have found I'm making more and more buttercream cakes as lots of people don't like to eat fondant, which is great as it has allowed me to perfect my technique as much as possible, hence the questions from clients Making the crown was so much fun, I loved making all the details. 05.01.2022 Another update... I'm recovering better than expected and my doctor has given me permission to return to work so I'm going to start making cakes again, slowly starting with 2 cakes per week. I will also be making Christmas cupcakes, so stay tuned to see the designs...
