25.01.2022 Vanilla cuppies straight from the oven!....smells sooo good!

24.01.2022 I know this has nothing to do with cake, but we can all relate to looking a little rounder after being stuck in lockdown at some stage this year. We could do with a little chuckle!.....an oldie, but a goodie!

23.01.2022 Birthday celebration from yesterday. 80 years young! This lovely ladies grand daughter organised the cake for her. Marble mud, with white chocolate ganache layers and hand made icing roses. <3

23.01.2022 I am being a little nostalgic, so a bit of a different post from me today! Looking back on your childhood, did you ever think that something could influence you in some way, shape, or form and turn out to be your profession later in life? This is me in my 'chef' pants (hand me down clothes from my cousin) I also used to have fun making 'mud pies' with the girl next door that I grew up with who sadly, is no longer with us and the majority of my working career outside of caki...ng, has been food related!....luckily, I love what I do! If you have a photo, or a story you would like to share, I would love to see it.

23.01.2022 Even though it has been a topsy turvy year, voting has opened for the 2020 #Brideschoiceawards If Cakes By Paulie created a wedding cake for your special day, after the 1st of April, 2019 you are eligible to vote by following this link. https://bit.ly/2TNIRfo Thank you in advance.

23.01.2022 Some sampler shortbread heading off with hubby in the morning to his lucky workmates. Pistachio/lemon Coconut/lime Macadamia/choc chip

22.01.2022 Thank you to those who placed an order for Fathers Day shortbread cookies. This is an assortment of the designs that were available.

22.01.2022 When you are turning One, it is all about pretty frills and bows!....and Minnie, of course! Alternate layers of white and dark mud, with white chocolate ganache between the layers. <3

20.01.2022 Display board for a personalised birthday cake this week, representing an old school desk.

19.01.2022 Sneaky peek at prep for one of my orders this week. Inspiration taken from the customers disposable cups, hand drawn and done as an edible image for cookies. #lovemyjob

18.01.2022 Sneaky peek!....

18.01.2022 Mastercard moment with this one delivered today. 80 years young and the recipients reaction was absolutely priceless! My lovely customer sent through a photo for inspiration, which summed her Mum up perfectly!..... All things pretty, but loves to also build things and not afraid of hard work.... Cake flavour was red velvet.

18.01.2022 Another special, personalised cake from this weekend. My lovely customer sent a few photos through for inspiration, as she loves green tea, a relaxing bath and wine. She gets to keep the handmade cake topper too! Cake was white mud / fresh raspberries, with white ganache layers. Another new favourite as this was an absolute joy to create. Who is tempted to steal a cookie off the saucer?

17.01.2022 I am very torn between the aroma coming from my two ovens!.... The one in my cake room has a chocolate mudcake!...the other, homemade citrus chicken casserole. Mmmm!

16.01.2022 A very special cake for my customers much loved niece turning 21. I was in my happy place creating the wired, handmade icing flowers and although a little biased, I think this is my most favourite cake to date. Cake flavour was traditional chocolate cake, with layers of dark chocolate ganache and iced with swiss meringue buttercream.

15.01.2022 Busy week for me this week and a glass, or two of vino in the spa, was certainly going to be the cherry on top tonight. #RESPECT to other Decorators that have multiple orders per week.....phew!!

14.01.2022 Sneaky peek!....

14.01.2022 My OCD is about to get a major workout, or shock! whichever way you want to look at it. Total fun, but scary and wayyy out of my comfort zone. Watch this space.

14.01.2022 A pretty, rose gold engagement cake from yesterday.... Sadly, new restrictions on gatherings that came back into place at very short notice, meant that the beautiful couple weren't able to celebrate in the way they had planned last night. Cake flavour was marble mud, with white and dark chocolate ganache. <3

13.01.2022 The BIG debate! Holden v's Ford!..... I am definitely a Holden girl myself. This was totally out of my comfort zone, but immense fun to do. So glad my lovely customer had faith in me to be able to create it for her hubbies special milestone. It's not perfect, so don't look too close. Cake was chocolate mud/bourbon with dark chocolate ganache.

13.01.2022 Gender reveal cuppies for today, for a beautiful, deserving couple that I have done several cakes for now. It all started with their gorgeous wedding cake, a couple of years ago. It is so hard not to blab what the sex of the baby is when you are given that most important task to keep it a secret. (I succeeded) They shared a video with me, of bubs soon to be 'big brother' revealing the coloured sprinkles inside. Cute as a button!

13.01.2022 When I make shortbread, I am usually a traditional, plain recipe girl! I am trialling some different combinations. (nothing that hasn't been done before) Milk choc chip and macadamia, which nearrrrly didn't make it to the oven Lime and coconut, which has hubbies seal of approval and yet to do pistachio and lemon.

12.01.2022 Sneaky peek of something pretty being created for a special young lady. I had forgotten how therapeutic making wired flowers can be.

12.01.2022 Playing catch up with some cake photos from the past week. Birthday celebrations have ranged from 1st to 95th, all very different designs with that personal touch. This one for a gentleman 95 years young, with an edible image created from a photo when he was a lad. I had to do some editing, as the photo had weathered over time. Vanilla madeira, with white chocolate ganache layers, iced with swiss meringue buttercream. Toasted coconut flakes on the sides.

11.01.2022 A stunning cake from today for a beautiful couple, celebrating their special day on the Gold Coast with family and friends. Similar to a cake that I did last year, but scaled down to a two tier for an intimate wedding. Beautiful fresh blooms and the twine made by me. Red velvet, with dark chocolate ganache.

11.01.2022 I know a cute little fellow Sporpio, who was going to have a roaring time celebrating a belated birthday with family today. <3 All cake, except for the T-Rex arms. Cake was plain chocolate, with dark chocolate ganache.

11.01.2022 Sneaky peek!.....

10.01.2022 Hello to my loyal likers and followers! Hope everyone is well and keeping safe. I have quite a busy month coming up throughout August and look forward to creating some special cakes for my lovely clients. Who wishes they could lick the screen right now? Cookies 'n' cream swiss meringue butter cream, with crushed Oreos!.....mmmm!

08.01.2022 Some of the cupcakes for an 18th Birthday celebration, with a box of matching sugar cookies. Delicious, moist chocolate cake, with coconut flavoured buttercream.

08.01.2022 Sneaky peek!.....

07.01.2022 This personalised birthday cake was for a lovely gentleman who taught at John Paul College, before becoming Principal of the school for many years. I incorporated his love of Bundaberg Rum, with his teaching career(not that I am saying that school kids lead you to drink, nor am I encouraging underage drinking) Cake flavour was dark chocolate mud with rum, layered with dark chocolate ganache. <3

06.01.2022 Weekend pretty for a young lady turning 18, who is an avid reader. Semi-naked cake was marble mud.

06.01.2022 Sneaky peek!......we have just been steamed, so we are temporarily shiny shiny.

06.01.2022 I think we will need shares in Storage King soon. Yet another model plane my clever hubby has built.

04.01.2022 Sneaky peek of todays pretty, heading for the Gold Coast.

02.01.2022 This order was more than just a little fun to create. Day of the Dead theme, with cake, cuppies and cookies. Inspiration for the cookies, was taken from the customers disposable cups, hand drawn in the theme colours, then done as an edible image. #FUN... Main cake - was done in a sophisticated black and gold theme in cherry ripe chocolate mud flavour. Cuppies - carrot cake Shortbread cookies.
